Amazing anniversary date experience. Food was spectacular as was the service. Dining room got a bit loud as the night went on. She had the pork chop, cooked perfectly. I had the classic chicken fried steak, deliciously crispy.
Everything was perfect and we look forward to going back again soon!
Wonderful as always! Never disappoints!
We were seated by the kitchen which is always the worst spot to be seated as you find yourself focused on the kitchen vs each other. Our waiter was a little dry, but attentive and the food was decent. The shrimp tempera looks amazing but tastes average.
Always great food, ambiance & service. Creative dishes!
Great service and food
As always it is a joy to dine here, the food is just incredible thanks to Chris and Bill.
Overall experience was very good, our waitress was very professional and helpful since it was our first time there. My wife and I shared a Shrimp Cocktail and it was delicious! Wife had the Blacken Chicken and it was Extremely spicy. She can normally handle HOT, being latina but the chilis that were diced up in the chicken were super hot. She said if it was any normal person that could be a bad situation. Other than that she said it was really good. I had the Red Snapper and it was outstanding!
Wonderful restaurant! Food ranges from sophisticated continental dishes to old Texas standards like chicken fried state. Something for everyone. I especially like their seafood specials. Wine list is extensive with fine quality wines not overpriced
Date night for my hubby and me. Cocktails, a shared wedge salad, dinner and dessert were all delicious. The Duroc chop was enormous and perfectly cooked. The Korean style ribeye, while a little chewy, nailed all the flavors. We especially enjoyed the small bite dessert plate.
We will definitely return.
Love Chef’s focus on local sourcing and creativity. Job well done.
We had the Belgium fries, salmon appetiser and chicken fried steak. The fries were ok but nothing special. The accompanying sauces were very good. The chicken fried steak was good and the beef used was definitely a cut above standard fare. We didn’t especially like the gravy. The salmon appetiser was tasty but the crunchy base that enclosed the salmon seemed discordant. All in all it was a pleasant meal and we will definitely return.
I rated the service average because the waiter failed to explain the specials and menu changes to us before ordering yet we heard him spend a great deal of time and detail explaining them to the adjoining tables as they were seated. Had we known about them we might have ordered differently. We also would have left a larger tip had we not felt slighted in service.
Brasserie 1895 was great. They offer exciting dishes and cocktails that you won't find just anywhere else. The service was fantastic, and the ambiance as well. We had reservations for 8:45 but they seated us at 8 right when we arrived. The hostess greeted us and said "Happy anniversary", which was a nice touch. This restaurant serves the southeast side of Houston as a rare place to get fine dining out in the 'burbs. It's nice to not have to drive into the city for a great restaurant. It also seems to be a nice hybrid setting serving both romantic meals between couples, as well as dining experiences for larger groups who just want to have a nice meal and drinks. It does this seamlessly. It's hard to feel either overdressed or underdressed here. The table-side options are fun, as the chef will come to your table and prepare your meal right there for you. The chef is a really nice and fun guy - you can see he takes pride in his work. We also met the owner, who stopped by our table to wish us a happy anniversary and talk about how he hand-selects the large diver scallops. It's just a really laid-back fun place in suburbia where you can get great food and service. I wish there were more places like it but sadly there are not. We will definitely be going back!
Absolutely we would recommend Brasserie 1895 to others...do it all the time! Brasserie is a casual, relaxed comfortable, friendly, neighborhood restaurant in our town. The service is friendly & relaxed -never rush with table turning . The food is exceptional in presentation and quality. We consider ourselves lucky to have a restaurant with the fine food caliber of Brasserie 1895 in our little town...so close to home. It was the perfect place to bring friends, under stress, for a farewell dinner. Brasserie did not disappoint. The evening could not have been more perfect. Everyone relaxed and totally enjoyed themselves. Will look forward to Sun. brunch again, checking out the new place, when open, and getting out for breakfast and lunch any day of the week. Thank you Brasserie 1895!
Normally service is great but yesterday it took 20 min each time we ordered a drink!
Also our chicken was over cooked while our steak was under cooked.
Must’ve been one of those days
Great local restaurant. Always delicious & locally sourced food
Food was great.
The food was very good, but the noise caused by a group of 15 screeching mid-twenties females they placed in the dining area next to us made our dinner disappointing. It was my birthday dinner, so I was not happy with this situation at all! As for the food, we had redfish, snapper. steak and pork and all 4 of the dishes were very well prepared.
Was expecting more of a French restaurant serving simple hearty foods, like Coq au vin - thought the menu was limited and a bit pretentious... Food was good and liked table side cooking...
We kept looking for our waitress. It’s super annoying when you’re paying premium prices and the waitress seems to be no where in sight!!!!
We liked that the chef came to talk to us. The wait staff new the menu very well. Great meal without breaking the bank.
Liked the variety on the menu. Everyone else ordered the ribeye which they pronounced delicious. I had the asparagus and shitake mushroom tacos. I love when a chef can be creative with a vegetarian dish. The sauce had a nice bite to it. Looking forward to our next visit.
We had a wonderful Anniversary dinner at Brasserie. The ribeye was exceptional. We will return.
It was wonderful, as always
Food was excellent. Service was very disappointing. Not to the typical standard here.
Superb meal with my son. He had filet and I had snapper! Could not have be better!
Fresh fish dishes are always good. They are known for their chicken friend steak.
We had 4 different meals and they were all excellent. The drinks were also top notch. Would recommend to anyone.
The best restaurant in the area. The flavors of each and every dish never disappoint. The staff is kind and knowledgeable.
Every aspect of dining experience was delightful. Great Experience!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We have gone to Brasserie 1895 for almost 2 years now. The FOOD is still meticulously well done, Fantastic...
They're retooling the managerial styling of dinner service. New staff that does a great job of taking care of you. What I don't like is when I see the manager flipping out on them. Corrections, no matter how small, should never be done in front of patrons. This was obvious while we ate. It adds to the ambiance & puts me in a mood that I nor my wife doesn't care for.
We lived in New Orleans for 11 years and have been searching for a local authentic restaurant. Brassiere 1895 did not disappoint! I ordered a Mahi special topped with lobster meat and it was delicious. The coffee in a percolator was also a nice touch.
Friendswood needs more restaurants like this! We definitely will be back!
Four star quality food!
Best place in Friendswood TX...
Fantastic dinner as always. Kellen was our waiter and is extremely good/ knowledgeable of menu. We visit often and look forward to our next visit.
Service was extremely slow. The waitress offered bread but it never appeared. She took our entree orders, then came back fifteen minutes later to ask us our orders again... when we said we’d ordered already she asked to be reminded of what we selected, so I’m assuming she forgot to put our food order into the kitchen. The “chips” that came with our shrimp cocktail appetizer were so hard and chewy at the same time they were pretty much inedible. The ribeye was lacking flavor despite being covered in some kind of oil and Dijon mixture. Our bottle of wine, appetizer and two entrees put us at around $130 +tip for a meal neither of us finished because it was honestly borderline bad. We love eating and aren’t afraid to drop a good dollar on dining... so long as the food and service is worth it.
Creative and sophisticated flavor combinations and textures with appealing presentation. Would expect more traditional bread for a French-inspired brasserie (eg, crusty baguette- the table bread served was subpar). Loved the interior decorating, desserts, and friendly service.
As always, Brasserie 1895 was a special place for a special day with my Mom. We all loved the food and each dish was unique and perfectly prepared.
The food and their service was incredible! The chicken fried steak and the table side filet are both must try dishes!
One of the top restaurants in Houston area. Truly great wine list. Food is tasty - among best French food in the area. It’s always a treat.
Food was good, but not quite the exceptional quality I expected for the price. No complaints, just too expensive for the quality of the food.
