Amazing food and service. We've been quite a few times. It was crowded the night after Valentine's Day. We arrived earlier than our reservation and we're seated just after our reservation time. The hostess comped our first round of drinks for the minor inconvenience. The attentive server and great food were definitely worth the price. I believe some people get sticker shock because they've never been to any place finer than fast food. Awesome all around.

My husband and I went here for Valentine’s Day 2020, this is our second time here. Our first visit was wonderful. Our server was stellar and the food was great. This most recent visit I feel was over rated. The price was huge for the food. My husband ordered the carrots and got TWO of the tiniest carrots I have ever seen while I has six beefed up oyster. The balance was very off. I ordered the lobster and it was fit to be mounted on a car it was so over cooked. And I did not even get proper tools to get to the meat that was eatable. And I think I was charged for an extra $15 drink. The desert we got was not was not what was on the menu. All in all I was disappointed with the food. 🙁.
We went for Valentines dinner which I guess is turning out to be a nightmare night to go out. The restaurant had a fixed dinner and a fixed drink menu which was ridiculous We couldn't even order just a plain old fashioned because it wasn't on the drink menu. They chose to squeeze in extra tables by putting a few folding chairs and rickety small tables by the front door and that is where we sat so every time someone came in front door, wind would blow by us.
This is the third time I have been here and it will be the last The food just isn't that good. It wants to be a fine dining restaurant but the only thing fine dining is the price. We both had the dinner salad to start and it was the size of my palm and was so covered in red onions it was hard to pick out the lettuce. My husband had the carrot dish next and it had 2 carrots, just 2 carrots on a plate with some micro greens on top! So weird. I did have the beet dish which was pretty good. Our waiter told us if we wanted the filet that it would take an extra hour because the head chef comes to your table and finishes it off. Not cook at your table but just sear it off and put the demi-glace on it. Crazy! I really don't see the point in that especially on such a busy night but we really wanted to have filet so we waited. It was pointless and then the filet was not even good. It is that chewy, stringy filet not the melt in your mouth kind. Very disappointing dinner. It is hard to find fine dining in the surrounding areas of Houston so I guess we will just have to deal with the traffic and go into the city next time.
My wife and I went to Brasserie 1895 for Valentine’s Day since we had enjoyed it last year so much. As we expected, when we arrived for our reservation time, it was crowded, but we were seated immediately. Having reviewed the special 4-course fixed price menu online already, we knew what we wanted, but the server, David, did offer some suggestions that we decided to try.
We like to eat at various restaurants around the Houston area and when we are on trips either in the US or around the world. When we eat somewhere, a lot of times we will make sure to get different dishes and share them between us so we can taste as much as possible. This is the tact we took for this meal also.
We were warned when we ordered that the filet dish that my wife ordered would take longer since the finished preparation occurred at the table. Not a problem for us since we are used to lengthy mealtimes at restaurants when eating fixed price meals and we told the waiter this. We expect this type of meal to be experiences consisting of the food, service, and atmosphere. We were not disappointed.
The food we were served was excellent with each course. The recommendations offered by David turned out to be great choices that helped to enhance the experience. With the large crowd, and many of them ordering the filet dish, there was a backup of getting them to the tables, but Chef Jakob came out of the kitchen and helped get this back on track. He prepared my wife’s filet at the table and explained what he was doing with each step. I complimented him on the quality of the food and let him know how much we were enjoying it.
While a lot of people do not like long meals, we didn’t think it was too lengthy. We will be returning to the restaurant for more and will not wait until next Valentine’s Day to do so.
I came to dine at this restaurant based on ABC13’s highlight as well as a friend’s recommendation. It feels like I dined at a totally different restaurant than the one that has received glowing reviews. My first mistake was booking my first visit on Valentines Day. My next mistake was not asking for the price of their set menu since no prices were displayed. I was purely basing my logic on their reputation for having fine dining cuisine at reasonable prices. My reservation was at 5:15pm. We were seated right away and the restaurant wasn’t full by any means. We were seated at a table right in the path of the sun’s rays which made it hot and blinding and uncomfortable. When we asked the waiter if something could be done, he apologized and said to give it 10 more minutes and it would get a little better, but said we couldn’t change tables because they were fully booked for Valentines Day. Fair enough. The menu had a light appetizer followed by the first course. Both were very good, although the portions were very small. Then we waited for our main courses. And waited. It was over an hour before we got our main dishes after many inquiries as to the status and the reassurance that they were working as quickly as possible. It took so long even the people around us had to ask where their food was and someone had to request expedited service because they had somewhere they needed to be. FINALLY it all came out at the same time. The Valentines set menu featured 3 courses and a shared dessert. When we got the bill, it was $90/person and on top of that, they automatically added 18% gratuity. For almost $300 (including drinks) our meal took more than 2.5 hours and we weren’t able to run the errands we were hoping to run after dinner. Our experience left a bad taste in my mouth. We can afford the meal. But time is precious and the wait was inexcusable. Don’t force people to order from your set menu if you can’t serve them in a reasonable amount of time. We won’t be returning.

Excellent menu and meal! The Chef was very accommodating to a seafood allergy, and the staff were all professional and polite. A bit pricey for a Brasserie, but we'll certainly be back.
Uptown rustic, right here in the neighborhood. Super friendly, efficient staff. Loved the rustic setting juxtaposed with the elevated dishes. And the bar was superb. Definitely a warranted return for "The night was dark and full of whiskey. "
Even though the restaurant was VERY busy, we were seated immediately. (had reservation but sometimes you still have to wait a few minutes) I had the duck and my husband had the chicken fried steak. Both were excellent. Good presentation on my duck entree. Ambience was good. Wait staff were very professional. All in all, a lovely evening.
Excellent service and attention to detail. The food was wonderfully tasty. We ordered dessert but ran out of time, they had gotten a bit busy.
The wine list is good, the wine we had was great. A few more French options would be nice.
Overall, will definitely be back!
Food was wonderful. Service started off fine but then our waitress got 2 big group tables and never came back to us. My second drink came 30 mins after I ordered it. Took 30 mins to get the check and that's only because she caught the bus boys attention. Skip dessert because we didn't want to wait for another 30 mins. Typically this place is great, we've never had issues but our waitress was definitely overwhelmed.

We took our family and in laws here for a wonderful dinner! Moses is a great server and the table side preparation of pasta carbonara and filet were extra special. Our 4 year old twins and 6 year old son were with us and they loved everything!
Excellent service from start to finish. The main course and desert choices recommended were absolutely delicious. Will definitely eat here again.
Nice ambiance. Great little place for a special evening. Food was good, however my crab cake was cool in the middle. But the flavor was excellent. Would recommend.
I've dined at Brasserie 1895 on three occasions and I'm consistently impressed with the food and ambience. This visit was my first experience with poor service. Twice I had to remind the waiter to bring a drink to the table and we waited way too long to hear the dessert menu. When we did, he left out a specialty dessert that we asked about when we saw other diners enjoy theirs. We asked about that particular dessert and the reply was "I thought we were out of that." I will definitely return to this lovely restaurant but will hopefully receive better service.

The French onion soup was the best I have ever had! My husband loved the wedge salad. My crab cake was incredible and my husband loved the short rib special. The dessert medley was delicious! The meringue cookies are my absolute favorite! As always, the service with Killeen was impeccable! We will be back!

Came here for our anniversary dinner. It was fantastic, as always. Nothing like it in the area. If you haven’t tried it out yet, do yourself a favor and go.

Great experience like we've had many times before.
But really disappointed by the new (?) credit card payment upcharge policy and the surprise factor that came with it. Totally took away from the upscale feeling.
We dined here this past weekend and the food was adequate but not good for the price and the portions were tiny. It was very busy the night we dined and even with a reservation it took more than an hour to receive our main entrees.
The bright spot was the waiter was very friendly and apologized for the slow service.
Had the pasta carbonara. Noodles and sauce were perfect. The meat was tough and inedible. I identified the issue to the server, expecting the chef to come speak with me. Unfortunately, he didn't. Very disappointing. Will not eat dinner there again. However, their brunch food is very good and will probably continue to support them during that timeframe.
Food is fresh, I like the variety of the menu, It changes frequently. Nice friendly servers. Cocktails are also interesting too.
The BEST! This is our go-to for date nights and dinner with friends. Love the food, the service (Kellen rocks) and the atmosphere. If you haven’t been, you are missing out.
Diver scallops with a Russian River Valley Chardonnay. Everything ws delicious. Would love to go back and try other menu items.

What a hidden gem in Friendswood that we have available! Chef Chris KNOCKED it out of the park with an amazing menu that has a nice twist on traditional dishes that give it a flavor that cannot be described. The service was impeccable and bar service was also spot on. The ambiance is very warm and inviting and allows conversation comfortably at each table without being too loud so you can enjoy your experience. The wine selection offers many choices for any palate as well as full bar service with hand crafted cocktails. To top off the evening, don't pass on dessert-there is something for everyone!! Highly recommend and it's worth taking the trip in from town to try!!
Brasserie is fantastic! They use fresh, quality, ingredients to make unique and delicious dishes and cocktails. The chef is active in the dining room with diners and even cooks several table side dishes. The entire place makes a fun dinner experience!!
Love this restaurant!!! It was a little loud for this visit however the ladies next to us were a little loud however they were celebrating each other so we were ok. Food as always was delicious and the wait staff courteous and knowledgeable. Owner and chef always on point!!!
