On behalf of our family at the Brass Buckle, I would like to welcome you. The Brass Buckle, once known as the Conyngham Hotel has been located here at this location since circa 1805. To put things in prospective, who was the president of the United States in 1805?

Our unique dining and food, is what makes the Brass Buckle so different. Our food, is not 100% authentic Mexican but is a type of fusion or infused continental with south west and Mexican flavors, try some of our amazing food from Alligator Tacos, Lobster Tacos, Mexicali Steak, Burritos, and so much more


We pride our self in using only the freshest ingredients, as well as still keeping our eye on healthy whole foods. Many of our foods are also gluten free, since we do not use flour but rice flour and corn starch.

The Brass Buckle is located just south of Wilkes-Barre and north of Hazleton. Conveniently located off interstates 80 and 81 and routes 93 and 309.

    Appetizers were over cooked. After server gave us containers for our left overs we sat for 15 minutes waiting for our bill so we could pay and leave. Finally had to get up from our table and go look for someone to give us our bill. At least 6 servers were in another room just hanging out. Place was not busy they just left us sit there.

    We haven’t been back in months, and we may never go back again after last night. Well, I think there is still potential at this restaurant, the service was so slow to the point where it affected the food in our experience. And I don’t think it’s our service problem, she seemed very overwhelmed. honestly, I blame the top economy for the lack of employees. Nonetheless the Tres chipotle enchiladas that I had and my husband’s seafood burrito were clearly sitting under a heat lamp for sometime and came out with the sauce on top dried up and the beans and rice crusty. My enchiladas were otherwise OK but my husband seafood burrito was an edible. I’ll give them credit for some effort, but I don’t know that I’ll be back

    We had a great time celebrating our mothers birthday here. The service was great. The food came out quickly despite us being a large table! The food was tasty and came out hot. We had a table upstairs by the window and it was lovely. We enjoyed our time here!

    Have been going to this restaurant for decades and it has always been very good. The explanation that it is Tex Mex fusion cuisine is quite accurate. As indicated the service, quality of food, ambience, etc is very good. Pricing had gone up prior to the Great Inflation after the pandemic which is why I gave it a slightly lower score for value but it has not stopped my wife and I from going here for lunch or dinner, and most probably never will. Try it, you'll like it!

    We had a wonderful waiter named Joe. He was prompt and courteous, and also was extremely helpful with the food choice for my granddaughters and the food allergies that they have. The food was delicious.

    Ordered the new HOT level 5 and it was not hot. Was told to order the old way next time. In the past, hot meant peppers on top of burrito and inside in the meat. This time I saw no visible peppers.

    Salads were both sent out with burnt toppings. One was mushrooms, the other was steak. Should have never been sent out like that. Waitress took 20 min to come see if our food was ok. They recooked the toppings but the whole error took 30 min to correct, then the salads were perfect.

    Nice restaurant, but the prices were high compared to other Mexican restaurants we’ve eaten at. My wife’s entree was $11.50 for a single fish taco. My lettuce salad topped with chicken was $15.00. We probably won’t return there.

    This was our second visit to the Brass Buckle and once again it was terrific. Server was attentive and polite, margaritas were delicious, and the food was served hot and tasty. I highly recommend this establishment as we will certainly return.

    This restaurant has made a renaissance of sorts and I’m very happy to see it. While I’m going to offer some criticisms I am fully aware that the owners are always making improvements and I don’t expect any of the challenges I outline to last. At least I hope so. The menu is fabulous and I enjoyed my enchiladas, however I could tell they sat for a bit before being brought to me. The server forgot my sides too. This restaurant has downstairs and upstairs seating. The downstairs definitely feels like a Mexican Cantina. It’s cozy and clean with a very inviting atmosphere. The upstairs however feels like I am eating in a rundown cafeteria. Fixtures are broken and the carpet is disgusting, and the tables and chairs and condiments on the tables are sticky. Overhead lighting is too bright - no ambiance. I’m hoping this can be corrected soon. I will go back regardless, so long as I can get a table downstairs.
