WE ARE BACK... and better then ever. from a devastating fire in 2016, that forced us to shut down for almost 2 years.
Located in the heart of Philadelphia’s Rittenhouse Square, Branzino serves mouthwatering modern Italian cuisine in a gorgeous expansive townhome with an exquisite private garden, which is perfect for alfresco dining during the spring, summer and fall. Savor our fresh crudo, handmade pastas, inventive appetizers, braised meats and delectable seafood compositions, including our whole roasted Branzino, which is filleted tableside. Our beautifully appointed garden is considered one of the most treasured alfresco dining spots in the City of Brotherly Love, and contains a wonderful mix of sun, shade and summer breezes. Join us for dinner Six nights a week,(we are closed on Monday) or reserve the garden or one of our dining rooms for private parties for up to 120 guests.

We were very satisfied with our meal. We enjoyed our Branzino which was happily simply prepared but flavorful and well presented. The salmon starter was a nice portion, good enough to share and delish. My friend enjoyed her arugula salad and octopus starter.
We were seated in the room to the left and it was very stark with blank white walls. They need some framed art, murals or wallpaper to make it more inviting and cozier. Other than that, we had no complaints.
Lovely restaurant--excellent food except for the bread which was tasteless. Very good service and quiet for a Saturday night. Helpful staff

Thoroughly enjoyed my dining experience at Branzino. The food was amazing...shared the artichokes, had a small pasta with rabbit and then the scallops. Split a delicious dessert. The service was fantastic - pleasant and provided great recommendations when we asked to help choose between dishes. Would definitely return!
Exellent in every aspect!
The restaurant is a perfect setting for a relaxing dinner. I had the grilled artichoke appetizer which was delicious. For the main meal, I had stuffed gnocchi which was also beautifully prepared. The Panna cotta I had was the best dessert I have had in a long time. Overall, it was a very wonderful dining experience.
Our meals were excellent, and the servers were courteous and attentive, however service was slow. There might be a problem in the kitchen. I suggest sipping your BYO wine and taking your time when you dine here. It is well worth the wait.
Bad service, bad attitude, good food, would not go again
We waited an hour for our food. The only room with no music playing. Our server was lacking in service.
Our food was delicious. We had eaten here for Restaurant Week and looked forward to trying other items on the menu. We were disappointed that several of those items were not offered. The menu is heavy on fish, and with a shellfish allergy that eliminated a number of things. Also veal cheeks and rabbit were a little exotic for our taste. I had branzino which was delicious and the mushroom risotto was fabulous. My husband's steak was good but a little chewy. The portions were quite large. Overall, very good, though we are hoping for a veal or chicken dish in the future.
My entree was very good. I thought the menu was a little skimpy.
Can’t recommend this restaurant enough. Phenomenal food, super friendly service, and because it’s a BYOB, you’re out the door for pretty cheap! The veal cheeks were incredible and the Branzino (which is delicately prepared table side) is probably the best fish I’ve ever tasted. Cap it all off with some espresso and the oh so tasty Albanian three milk cake. Can’t wait to go back...
Great food, slightly quirky service - but I'd still recommend. Firstly, I'm not generally impressed with seafood in the US - perhaps your traditions are very different from those in Europe. However restaurants in Philadelphia generally seem to get it right! Mussels were fresh and not overcooked, and somehow retained their flavour when contrasted with an authentically spicy Calabrian sauce that makes your lips tingle. Pasta cagio e pepe a la chitarra was perfectly cooked though the cheese sauce was a little odd (did they use Pecorino or some alternative?). The branzino (mediterranean sea bass, a superb fish) was perfectly steamed and delicious, accompanied by simple grilled asparagus. I would have liked to try more.
But..... the back room where I was seated had a rather retro decor without much atmosphere (hard to imagine it's just been renovated after a fire). The service was very friendly but rather flaky: shy young waiters are not common in the US and I felt embarrassed to say, "no I don't want my pasta at the same time as my mussels" which is how they came. I think they were short staffed. And please guys if you don't have a liquor licence make it very clear on the website and online menu. I would have enjoyed my food even more had I known, and brought my own wine.
This restaurant clearly has a loyal and discerning following, and I suspect for good reason. I will certainly return next time I'm in town, but will be armed with my own wine and knowing to expect a homely restaurant with first class cooking
The branzino is exceptional. Scallops are also very good. Nice atmosphere.

The place is beautiful and decor is elegant. The service was wonderful from the start and continued throughout the meal. The food was absolutely fantastic, fresh and delightful. Definitely a place to return to. The only slight complaint was the noise level. It wasn’t anywhere near half full due to the time however, I noticed I could hear everything in the place. All hard surfaces in the place so no surprise there. Maybe a few artistic sound absorbers are needed. It wouldn’t keep me from going back though.

Wouldn’t come back or recommend this place. Came here for restaurant week. Service was not great at all. Asked for table outside when they called to confirm reservation, however there response was that it was damp outside and we can check when you arrive. It was a beautiful September night. No one was seated outside when we got there. Food was extremely salty and average.
A friend and I went here for Center City Restaurant week and were blown away by the service and the food! Not one thing wasn't absolutely delicious. I highly recommend sitting outside in the back if weather permits, its very pretty! Will definitely be returning soon!
I was there for restaurant week and place was busy but staff was efficient. They had many selections to chose from. I had the 'best' mussels I have ever had for an appetizer. Nice size, plump and juicy, perfectly cooked ( baked?) with a delectable light spicy wine sauce. I had a veal Marsala with oyster, shiitake,baby Bella, and one other kind of mushroom. It was served with charred Brussels sprouts and polenta. Desert was a smooth and subtle pana cotta with a fruit compote and crunchy pistachios. Every thing was right on...no misses. If you go and the weather is nice try dining in the back garden.
P.S. I am a food snob, come from a restaurant family and have cooked professionally.

Branzino's had been one of my favorites before the 2016 fire. This visit was 1st time back after the re-opening. Branzino did not disappoint! Love the design improvements & the our meal was delicious. So many wonderful selections. The back patio is also a wonderful feature to this fabulous BYOB. ~Lucette
We went there for restaurant week. Food was delicious! The service was very attentive and accommadating. Plan on going again soon.
Branzino has an open feeling to its dining rooms and an unexpectedly charming open patio tucked into the back. We rarely eat outside because of the noise and closeness to traffic, but their patio was away from the road and completed walled in. It was great. The food was served quickly and was delicious. Our dining friend, a very critical eater, declared his tiramisu to be the best he had ever tasted. He also loved the veal dish. My branzino was delicious and another in our party raved over her salmon. Altogether a wonderful dining experience. We hope to go back soon.
Very disappointed. Caprese was good but needed a bit more pesto. Veal scallipini watasteless, 2 opinions. Branzino was dry, 3 opinions. Desserts all enjoyed.

Took my Mom for her birthday lunch during Restaurant week. It our 1st time. We LOVED Branzino!!! Def will be back. Fantastic food, great attentive service and lovely atmosphere. Thanks for making my Mom’s bday so special.
We went for Restaurant Week lunch on a Friday. $20 a person for three courses. My guest had a lovely and delicious salad. I had the crudo del giorno, which was salmon with radish, cucumber, and lemon. I wish there had been more lemon flavor b/c I felt as though it was not there at all. The entrees were branzino, which was excellent, and salmon, which my guest loved! For dessert, we had the panna cotta and gelato. They were both fine, but we really didn't need a dessert b/c the first two courses were satisfying enough. The service was kinda slow at first, but once the female owner joined in, the rhythm really changed and she made the experience really wonderful with her charm and overall demeanor. We sat in the garden and that is truly a treat for a city restaurant.

Our restaurant week three-course meal was exceptional! We shared two appetizers. The grilled artichoke was deliciously smoky and the caprese was light and fresh. The crab ravioli was hand made and delicate. The flavor was perfect. The Branzino filet was delicious. We loved the panna cotta and mascarpone desserts too. A lovely spot, we sat on the rear patio which I highly recommend on a cool evening. Very romantic! Our waiter was great in such a busy night.
Great location, food was terrible, veal was tough, fatty . Wrong food was given to my guest. Creating an awkward theme to an expensive dinner. Salad was good.will not return or recommend. Was a waste of time and money . Very disappointed
We ate out in the garden. It was lovely out there. It made me feel like I was in Italy!
