Brandl Ratings and Reviews
We arrived with an Open Table reservation. We were told to wait. When I asked about the two empty tables, the waiter rudely and sarcastically told me we would have to wait for the other 8 parties still to be seated. And it was so noisy there, we would not have been able to talk. So we left. (I had to click every item above. The food and value ratings are not real.)
My husband & I enjoyed a wonderful dinner at Brandl’s on Nov.11th. We forgot to bring wine and the waitress quickly arranged for one of the employees to purchase a bottle for us locally. Although it was quite cold outside, the employee refused to accept a tip for purchasing our wine, which we thought he well deserved. Our meals were served in a very timely fashion & were superb! I had the delicious short ribs & my husband thoroughly enjoyed his scallops over risotto. I am gluten free and had ample choices from their exquisite menu. We heartily recommend Brandl’s for an amazing dining experience!!
Always love our meals at Brandl. This was also restaurant week so enjoyed three courses and items I may not have otherwise chosen. Loved the cauliflower soup---a wow! And I had monkfish and enjoyed but everyone at table had something different and loved it all. Also---my friend was met with great accommodations for his food allergies. So that is also very much appreciated. We'll be back soon.
Very satisfied with our meal prepared by Chef Anthony, from the roasted cauliflower soup, garlic oysters, Chinese five spice homemade paperdelle pasta, monk fish, lamb chops... and topped off with the pumpkin cheesecake and apple strudel ...Can't wait to go back
Maitre'd / Floor manager was rude and did not greet us at the hostess stand. Ignored us and acted like we hadn't been standing there for 5 minutes. Food was super pricey for a very small portion. Appetizers were better than main courses. Waitress was delightful though.
We went here for our anniversary and it was one of the best meals we ever had. Lobster risotto and crispy duck were perfection. Topped it off with a white chocolate raspberry soufflé...like nothing I've ever tasted. FANTASTIC!!!!! Expensive, but worth every penny. Highly recommend!
We went last weekend for restaurant week, and will definitely come back. The food was great!, and it's byob. I've already recommended it to a number of people.
I gave it a four because of noise level and ambiance. It would be nice if they had a fireplace, since the food is very comforting.
The first person we spoke with made us wait for our 3rd person to arrive before he seated us even though he had reservations. The a la carte menu got a bit ridiculous when we were charged $12.00 for a side of mashed potatoes, and the server brought my friend a crabcake when she ordered scallops. She didn't want to make a stink about it. He/they was/were very pleasant on the other.
this place is WAY OVERPRICED...would never go there again. we just happen to have gift card for 100 bucks. it got us a small salad...and a few appetizers... a couple meatballs, wings, a crab cake , calamari, and cheese. the cheese plate had 4 tiny slabs of cheese with 4 breadsticks for 18.00 are they nuts??? and the cheese was nasty. the waiter was very nice and on top of things. The person at the front seemed snooty and rude. only two other couples there..place was dead probably because they are pricing themselves right out of business. Anyone can put a fancy name on a place and act ritzy...but charging that kind of money for regular food is off the hook. we laughed the whole time we were there at the scenario...the menu...the prices... zero recommendation on this
Always one of our Shore favorites though I thought some of our favorite dishes (e.g., the grilled Caesar salad) were not as good as on previous occasions. My husband has the grilled scallops and I had shrimp with grits and they were both delicious. Started the meal with their famous and delicious crab cakes and finished it off with wonderful home made ice cream. We will be back!
My husband and I went for dinner here last night we had reservations and was seated within 10 minutes, The host was very cold and very unfriendly . The server got our order took forever to bring our drinks ....we order the cheese plate it was $19 for four little pieces of cheese . It took 45 minutes to get our food the server never came back to us , the portions were really really small compared to the price. the food was OK but the server only came back when we told her us to bring a check. The restaurant is cute but the prices are way beyond expensive not really impressed at all .I'm very disappointed, i'm never going back.
The restaurant was half empty. The maitre d was not friendly and yelled at his staff. Overall, they were quite disorganized, only one person delivering all the food. The waitress was nice but if you ask ingredients of food she "guessed" and never confirmed from the kitchen. if you ask any questions of any staff member they get annoyed and snap at you. Pricey because it's a BYOB. We went there because everyone else was booked but that is the one and only time.
My husband and I started eating here several years ago. Since that time the restaurant has gone steadily downhill. The server tried this last time but she had so many tables she couldn’t keep up. Quite apart from that the food was not very good and the host is extremely rude. Plus it could use a lot of cleaning as it appears to be very dirty. We did not enjoy the meal at all and will not go back. No one should.
We had been recommended with such glowing reports that we made reservations for us and our out-of-town guests. While nothing was really wrong except that the food is drastically over-priced, nothing was really right either. The food was fine. Ther service was fine. The ambiance is fine. That's it, but for those prices, I wanted and expected more.
