The food was great, however I had a reservation and still had to wait 40 minutes to be seated. It was expensive but no complain otherwise. The staff was very friendly.

Valentine's Day. We had a 730 reservation and did not get seated until 9pm!! Nothing was taken off bill for the inconvenience nor did the owner apologize .. very disappointed

Place never disappoints. Service is great. Got an early seating as the place ALWAYS fills up quickly. Had Tina as our server, she is a sharp, attentive server. We opted not to go with the Price Fixe menu (which looked great) and they offered any main course on that menu as a single choice. Restaurants with this type of menu RARELY lets you go rogue on the offering. Great touch. Went with the Lazy Lobster over risotto. Loved it.

We were seated in back against against a wall. Now I admit to having “table envy” often thinking another table would be better for one reason or another. As it turned out it was just fine, being the quietest spot on a busy night. A restaurant that offers foie gras and does it well is notable. My dish paired the the melt in the mouth tender foie gras with pineapple and luscious sauce reduction, spoon included. Eating my seared scallops with mushroom risotto I secretly wished the meal would never end. The Hot Pecan Bread Pudding with bourbon ice cream is not to be missed. As should be expected in a fine restaurant like this, the coffee was very good and a satisfying end to a wonderful meal. Our server was helpful, friendly and efficient. Yes the prices are on the higher side but after a meal like this, I felt the meal was worth every penny. Oh and it’s a byob so I’m always satisfied with the wine selection.

Valentines Day dinner! Greeted by a grumpy host and a packed restaurant. No happy Valentines Day or welcome. We had a reservation but he offered us a table in the empty dismal cold tented outdoor area and seemed annoyed that I said no we would prefer sitting indoors. He then responded with an attitude go sit at the makeshift bar/waiting area. Its a BYOB and nobody offered to open our wine for us. So we eventually found a waitress who helped.. Tables are tightly packed and seating uncomfortable. One table was a 10 seater with couples having to sit right next to each other! Not very romantic! Our waitress was delightful but service was slow. One and a half hours in we had only got our first course. The $75pp prefix menu was undesirable but we tried to make the most by all ordering something different. Small portions except for the Beef Wellington. The table seated to our right told us how they had ordered theres medium rare and when they got it it was well done. For fear of waiting half an hour to get a new order he just left it. My Lobster Thermidor was pitiful. I took all the lobster out the shell and it accounted for 2 small tablespoons full. No sides came with it. Dessert was so unimpressive. A dry burnt peanut butter soufflé that we took one bite of. All in all one of the worst Valentines dining experiences we have had. We will NEVER go back.

that family of 19 million didn't seem to fit on Valentines Day for 2 hours but hey, to each his own.

we had a wonderful time, the service was great, the food was great, the flavors were incredible. the decor was very nice. I will def be back to try more of the menu!

Nothing to complain about but it was funny that on Val Day there was this huge table in the middle of everyone with 2 couples and 4 kids just sitting there before we got there and still there after we left (and we didn't rush at all)... while people waited and waited, it seemed to us.

Just delicious! The lobster bisque might be the best I ever had. Also we had the Sunday lazy lobster special the duck breast and the tuna tartar appetizer. Great food. And
I liked the choice of music they played.

Well, firstly, let’s start with the atmosphere. Although nicely decorated and nicely lit for a romantic dinner, the nose levels were very loud . It’s one big room, with high ceilings, so that is probably part of the problem. Some sound deadening is definitely needed. Also, the majority of patrons are sited via “ family style” via long tables. Unless you’re into getting cozy with the fella next to you, Beware . And the perimeter bench-style sofa inspired seating is so squishy and unsupported, that I almost lost my date. Honestly, she is pretty petite, but she sank in so far that she looked like a reality show misfit. All kidding aside, spend some coin and invest in better quality, your patrons deserve better!! Especially considering that most people going out on Saturday evening except, not only exceptional food, but the whole experience. Moving to the important stuff, the food. Great presentation and for the most part pretty good. Price point is on the higher side, especially for the aperitifs and pasta. My dates pasta was $28.00. Considering it was the consistency of Campbell’s chicken noodle, not a good thing. I had the duck, which most fans will agree, takes some special presentation, not to mention a succulent specimen. The presentation was spot on, so was the sauce, but the portion was on the small side, about 6 oz overall. Thanks to the dessert I left satisfied. It was a chocolate bread style concoction which was excellent.

Based on all of the bad reviews and word-of-mouth in the area I would never waste my money to be treated by a horrible host the way that the reviews say. Not sure why they are still in business

Came here for an early Valentine's Day dinner since our original plans for actual Valentine's Day got ruined due to a business trip. So last minute we made a reservation for this past Friday night. Not overly busy but probably 80% of tables were taken. Cozy, warm space with great lighting and good table ambiance. They had a man playing very light guitar which I thought was really nice and not overly loud at all. Food was AWESOME. Zero complaints. We had the burrata for the appetizer, then I had the scallops with mushroom risotto and my husband had the filet. Both were great. For dessert we opted for the bread pudding -- highly recommend. Service was great as well. Prices are high but I think worth it. BYOB helps with that. We'll definitely be back!

My husband and I ONCE AGAIN had a fabulous meal at Brandl. From the eggplant fries to the salmon tartar, we had such an enjoyable birthday dinner. Service was personable and very attentive, the live music complimented the intimate atmosphere.

Being a Howell HS alumna, it was nice to see Howell represented - from our server to the guitar player! GOOO HOWELL :)

The waiter (owner) was supercilious. Not friendly. Wouldn’t look us in the eyes. Only one other couple when we arrived who left midway through our meal. Then a little later a foursome arrived.
The food was excellent and the busboy did a great job. Low marks for the waiter! We’re not likely to go back.

The lazy lobster was absolutely delicious. Short ribs very flavorful and garlic mashed potatoes were out of this world. The chocolate soufflé is a must if you go here. Will be back again.

Loved everything about our meal and the service...literally did not have one item off the menu we weren’t blown away by. Our only complaint was being seated at a tiny two-top in between larger parties when they were several open tables in the restaurant.

Been to Brando’s many times and have never been disappointed. From its signature Lazy Lobster and Chocolate Soufflés through nightly specials, Chef Paul Brandl melds creativity with consistency. This BYOB is definitely worth a visit.

New Year’s Eve dinner
We have dined at Brandl many times and always enjoyed our meal.
Last nights dinner was awful and was ridiculously overpriced.
It was a prix fixed for New Year’s Eve .
We were served a tiny amuse that was cold .The appetizers were also quite small.
I ordered the lobster and it was also cold and I think it was bad as it had a funny smell to it
My husband had the scallops,they were ok. The dessert was inedible.
Overall it was a bad meal for 240 dollars without wine as Brandl is a BYOB.
Very disappointing!!!!
