I wasn’t impressed with Brandl at all. The price doesn’t match the quality of the food. I had the lazy lobster and I didn’t find anything special about it. The menu claimed the butter sauce had vanilla flavor to it but I couldn’t taste it. The risotto wasn’t as creamy as I thought it would be. The portion was very small. The whole dish lacked flavor overall. In my opinion the lobster dish was not worth the money and I don’t think I’ll be returning

While a bit loud on Mother’s Day, the new menu was great. Calamari, Tuna, Sea Bass, Lobster and soufflé all terrific.

We went to Brandl on Mother’s Day at 3:30 pm. The restaurant was pretty empty. No special MD menu which was fine by me but unusual. The food was mostly very good except for a steak that was ordered medium rare that was delivered closer to medium. Disappointing for a $49 steak but my son didn’t want to send it back. The rest of the food was great. We did have to remind the waitress that we had ordered clams that did not arrive with the other appetizers. She was very quick to get them brought out after that. Overall a positive experience.

Mother’s Day fell on a day of torrential downpour and terrible driving conditions My adult children were meeting us there for an off time reservation of 2:30 PM . When we arrived our table was ready and the restaurant was fairly empty . Instead of seating us the host told us we had to wait at the bar until our complete party arrived rThe bar would be fine but this is a bring your own and the bar was just a long bar practically atop another large group who was already eating . We basically were breathing on their food that was coming out of kitchen . There was no need for us to wait there . When seated , everything else was great . The lazy lobster was a great choice , my husband”s steak was on point . And waitress was awesome . Very nice background music and beautifully decorated .

3/4 dinners were very good. Special of mushroom fettuccine not very good. Expensive! We wanted to ask for some things when we got dinner, but server didn't come around until we were done. Steak amazing!!! Lamb chops great, and Lazy lobster delicious, but needed salt. $230 w/o tip 4 people, 2 apps, 4 dinners.

What a shame. We used to really like this place tonight we were seated almost in the kitchen because it looked like a big party was arriving soon. They never arrived, probably just set up for the next day, the worst was yet to come. Had to chase the untrained server who we had to read the menu with, for everything bread, butter,open our wine etc,
$42.00 lobster risotto was bland. Filot mignon at §48.00;was ok but overpriced they owe us a big apology over $100.00 wasted I forgot the part when I asked for a bag for our take home and the very snippy man told me we don’t have any bags bad attitude

Recently tweaked menu made for superb simple dishes. Tuna was excellent, with an amazing side sauce. Not normally a fan of crab cakes, but would absolutely order the Brandl’s crab cake again. Great job to Brandl’s. Cannot wait to return.

Our food was very good, and over priced. The place was VERY loud so if you want to have a conversation with someone avoid it.
Our waiter was robotic, he did what he should, our food came out very quickly and we felt as if we were rushed through our meal. We did not have dessert but were in there less than an hour. We did not want to linger over coffee because it was extremely loud. It was very hard to have a conversation. The food made up for the lack of ambiance and our robot waiter. It is byob but the many of the dishes were in the high 30’s, my husbands lazy lobster was 41...with very little lobster for that price.

Somewhat overpriced. Food was good but too salty. Bread put on table was extremely old and rock hard. Service was good.

I enjoyed a delicious escargot appetizer followed by perfectly cooked salmon main course! My husband had the lamb chops which were to-die-for (my words, though, not his). Service was outstanding from the host to the two servers to the food runner from the kitchen. My water glass was never empty, most appreciated since I drink lots of water! We'll be back!

We enjoyed our experience there. There was nothing bad but nothing outstanding either. The location , food are not inline with their pricing. Byob certainly helps keeps costs down n they do offer outside seating. Worth a try! 🌻

Restaurant week so value was great. Had pork chop which was terrific. It should be placed on regular menu.
Wait staff was very professional and owner was friendly and quick to check that diners were satisfied

Food was great! I’m guessing it was the owner who greeted us and told us all about the menu. Our only complaint was it was to hot inside the restaurant. Other than that great atmosphere. Would definitely visit again.

Has the restaurant week menu. A bland wedge salad with rubbery bacon, an overseasoned.pork chop with six green beans and mashed potatoes and a chocolate donut which was actually just dusted with chocolate powder with a caramel dipping sauce. Uninspired. They sat us in the terrace under a hot lamp, so uncomfortable. Terrace is adorned with fake plants, not very pleasing aesthetics wise. Saw the actual menu, looked overpriced. Won't be returning.

Really enjoyed everything about Brandl's and I'm looking forward to going back soon. Shishito peppers, mushroom side dish, braised short ribs, amazing. I just heard that if you bring a favorite LP record of yours, they'll play it. Is that true?

When we made this reservation, we had completely forgotten that it was Jersey Shore Restaurant Week, but this proved to be a golden opportunity for us. Traditionally we go on Sunday nights to have their "Lazy Lobster" special, however due to the specials being offered we decided to veer off our usual and try something different. For appetizers we had the meatballs and the escargot. Main course was a huge pork chop for my husband and the steak for me. I never finish a complete meal, but I did this time. Both of us were members of "the clean plate club" that night!!!

They should not take reservations here as they were 20 mins late seating us. It was mass chaos and not a relaxing meal. No one serviced our tables so we were stuck looking at our empty dishes until the next course. Would not recommend or return.

Usually I am an appetizer or dessert person; not both, but went to Brandl’s for Jersey Shore Restaurant Week for a three course price fixed meal. They adjust the portions so that I can eat three courses and despite this the normal Brandl’s quality shines through. I had the grilled shrimp. My dining companion had the baseball steak. Both were delicious and beautifully plated. Escargot was a great appetizer and I finished with the chocolate donuts which are heavenly light Beneits dusted with a chocolate powder and Carmel dipping sauce. The apple streutlle with vanilla ice cream was light and flakey. Overall, a very satisfying dinner.

We love this place for any occasion! So much so we have many of our parties catered by them!!! Lucky to have it close by so I can go whenever we want!!!!

We had a reservation for dinner and when we were seated we were told that the “chef wasn’t ready to serve specials” but we could order off the regular menu. I don’t understand why the chef would not be prepared with the specials for the night in time for a pre arranged reservation? We ordered the cheese plate appetizer which was listed as being served with speck ham and a mustard sauce. When it arrived the plate had cheese, honey, apple slices, crostini and strawberries on it. When we asked where the speck was we were told it was “a sauce that would come out later”. Needless to say we were very confused. At the end of the meal we were given dessert menus only to find that soufflés were offered, but they needed to be ordered at least 45 minutes in advance. Had we known we surely would have ordered one, but we were never made aware of the option by our server. Our entrees were good but with so many exceptional restaurants in the jersey shore area we certainly won’t be running back to Brandl.

Good place for customer dinner. It was off season so noise could be worse if crowded. Waitress was awesome. Highly recommended.

Did not enjoy the food and the service was mediocre. Food very expensive for the quality and they tried to push desert on us when ordering main course. Not a fan!

We were a party of four for dinner and overall the food was just mediocre and for the price not worth going back. Most of the entrees were cooked well, however they lacked seasoning. The risotto was swimming in butter, the mahi mahi had no flavor and the calamari was bland and saturated in oil. The service was respectable, although we felt rushed at times by the server. Their price point is not in line with the quality of food they are serving.
