Featuring a year-round patio and outdoor bocce court, Branch Line offers something for everyone. Twenty taps continuously change and offer a great craft beer selection, while a curated wine list features bottles that are value-driven and also ready for any special occasion.
The Green Circle Rotisserie Chicken spins and roasts in sight of nearly every table in the dining room while the fire roars under vegetables, fish, and meat. The "Little Chicken" menu is great for kids, too!

We have dined at Branch Line many times, especially before attending a New Rep performance. Dina and other Branch Line staff are always very helpful, and the food and service are usually of a high level. However, on this particular occasion, the service was uncommonly slow between the appetizers and the entrees, and there was confusion by the wait person about the orders (three duplicate orders of the snap pea salad were delivered!).
While others enjoyed their meal selections, when they finally arrived, I found the oven roasted cod a little under-seasoned for my personal taste.
I hope that these comments will taken for what they are intended, i.e., constructive feedback. Overall, Branch Line is still a favorite for us, especially if we're attending a New Rep play afterwards.
We arrived at 6:30 in order to have dinner in time for the 8 PM show right next-door at the New Rep Theater and our food did not come until 7:45 PM. We were so rushed that we could not enjoy our food. The manager did comp us the drinks we had ordered but it really was not an enjoyable dining experience.
Outstanding service, warm, welcoming staff, and great food. I will be back
Waitress was excellent
This place was all the rage when it opened. I still can't figure out why. Maybe if you like rotisserie chicken it's good. But for people who eat plant-based meals, this has one of the worst menus around. ONE lunch entree that did not involve chicken, fish or meat? I ordered the cauliflower melt which was - no exaggeration - - about 10 tiny cauliflower florets with a tiny bit of boring melted cheese on an enormous slab of bread. Really? The only reason I've gone back is because the location is good. But this week was the last time. I suggest the chef go have a meal at Alden & Harlow. It's by no means a vegetarian restaurant, but it's one of the best places around for a vegetarian meal. Hey, it's the 21st century! There's no reason for non-meat entrees to be an after-thought.
We eat here often and always enjoy our meal. A few members of our party commented on how salty everything is and I do agree - a little heavy-handed on the salt. That said, we love the menu, environment and service. The food is generally delicious. My favorite is the snap pea salad. We will go again but a little less salt would be good!
Thoroughly enjoyed the food and the atmosphere. Staff was friendly and the food was prepared and brought to us quickly!
A group of 7 pals from high school got together to celebrate their 70th year on the planet. Dinner on Branch Line's patio was almost perfect for this. It was perfect in every way but one -- due to the ambient noise level, cross-table conversation was pretty much impossible. From past experience, in milder seasons when the patio canopy walls are removed the patio would probably be perfect in this regard too.
Branch Line is a wonderful place to have dinner before a play at New Rep. Easy parking, we had a wonderful server, they are gluten-free friendly, and the meal was great. We enjoyed it a lot.
Food and ambience were very good, the waiters very pleasant, but it took a long time to get each plate.
This is my third visit and I thought the food was slightly better on two past trips but still very good. I think the dessert menu could be better. But all in all it’s a great restaurant.
Food was just too salty. Awesome venue and great service, but the food really wasn’t that good
It was an excellent experience. The service was great. We plan to come again soon.
I live not far from Branchline, which has proven to be a problem; we find ourselves there too often.
A good spot. Good food, active environment. Would go again but after 6:00. Tables for two rather close to each other.
All good except wedge salad! Not very fresh tasting! Great trout!
It’s a shame that this restaurant doesn’t have a better menu with a larger selection of meals because the venue is great. Even their signature chicken dish was disappointing because it didn’t include any veggies or salad. Chicken was ok but served in a watery sauce with a few potatoes. Prices are high considering the food was average.
Service was excellent.
Branch Line is now one of my favorite restaurants to go to. It is very hip, trendy, and modern. I love the dim lighting. The service is also phenomenal. And don’t even get me started on how amazing the food is...
we're never disappointed here! food is always wonderful...
Great atmosphere with awesome outdoor space! Recommend trying!
Very nice place to sit outside on a summer day, brunch fare as expected, excellent, attentive service!
Great! The outdoor patio was beautiful and the food was great
Had a great time with out of town guests! The chicken and snap pea salad were awesome!
As expected, we are treated as great as we were last time we visited. Our special requests were granted without having to bring them up since making the reservation. The service was perfect, the food was perfect, and I wouldn't have changed anything about it. Thank you branch line for making my wife's birthday a memorable experience. We will be back again soon. PS: never pass on ordering the chicken drippings, it's the best $3 you will ever spend.
I don’t know if it was because it was Sunday or what but the service was terrible. We waited about ten minutes to just get water. We ordered appetizers and never got plates to use. The brunch menu is super limited and they only offer beer and wine. the amount of salt they use in their food is unbearable. If you’re low on electrolytes you’ll feel better when you leave. Unfortunately I was sick as a dog about an hour after I left. Everything is so over seasoned, it will repeat on you.
My kids both got grilled cheeses and after about 5 minutes they were hard as a rock, I think they deep fry them? Just gross. Waste of money.
The space is nice but from the reviews I honestly expected more, especially for Sunday brunch!
After having a fabulous dinner at Branch Line recently, I was very surprised how mediocre their brunch was. We ordered the rotisserie chicken and it was dry. The service was also disappointing as several of the servers were just plain disinterested in us and didn't seem to want to be there.
Adam was warm, knowledgeable, helpful and made me wanna come back...SOON!
We were a little forgotten on the patio (not checked on, empty dishes left on the table long after we finished), but the food is great.
Food is always very good, high quality , professional staff
Our first time at Branch line and it was very busy, but we arrived just in time to get seated for 2. We sat inside . Food was good, I gave four stars since we ordered medium for our butchers cut and it came out very rare. My husband never sends food back so we managed to eat the more cooked pieces. The menu is small so if you have picky eaters you may want to review the menu before you go. The parking is great lots of space and the outdoor seating area looked fun with outdoor heaters and lots of greenery. Our waitress was very pleasant and knew when to approach us with refills etc. we didn't feel rushed at all. We would go there again and maybe order something other than steak.
We had a party of 7 for dinner. Everything was great but I'd hoped for a martini. I just didn't realize they only serve wine and beer. Otherwise we had a great time.
Great night to celebrate a birthday. The food and service were excellent.
It was our first time at Branch Line and we were very happy with our experience! The outdoor patio was warm and inviting. The noise level was probably more so than it typically was due to a rehearsal dinner party of about 30-40 people. The “noise” level was due to cheers and celebratory outbursts so can’t really complain given the nature of their celebration:)
Service was prompt and friendly. Everyone was happy with their entree and starters but my favorite was the Sea Salt Caramel Ice Cream!! We all shared the same dessert choice with our significant others!!
We shared a half chicken a salad and decide and that was a perfect amount of food for us.
Pre ordered a family style birthday dinner. The food and the service were excellent and the entire experience was enhanced by a beautiful evening on the patio. Good value without the parking and traffic in Boston!! My third visit and each experience has been perfect!
The service was great and the food was interesting and delicious
Way better than the first time I went. Loved the new menu items!
A fabulous meal on a lovely patio. Service was friendly and top notch, food was interesting and well prepared. I made a meal out of appetizers and sides - charred cauliflower, seared scallops, creamed corn and pea tendril salad. More than enough for dinner the next night!
