Featuring a year-round patio and outdoor bocce court, Branch Line offers something for everyone. Twenty taps continuously change and offer a great craft beer selection, while a curated wine list features bottles that are value-driven and also ready for any special occasion.
The Green Circle Rotisserie Chicken spins and roasts in sight of nearly every table in the dining room while the fire roars under vegetables, fish, and meat. The "Little Chicken" menu is great for kids, too!

Never have been disappointed and Saturday evening was on par for anouther wonderful dining experience. Our server knew the menu, wines and offered great personality and engaged us in trying new things. The linguine with clams flavor intensified over time , so go slow and enjoy ! Scallop appetizer very food and with one more scallop could have been an entree. Will be back soon!
Rotisserie chicken was awesome, the restaurant was very noisy though
This was a very mixed experience. We loved sitting outside and had some excellent salads to start. People who got cod, chicken and scallop dishes really liked them. However risotto was entirely tasteless and pasta was way way too salty. We left them almost untouched and no one asked why. For a special celebration, wished everything would have been excellent, especially
for the price,
We’ve been here at least a dozen times and it is always awesome. These days the outdoor space is such a haven - you just feel good there and the food and wine list are fabulous.
The only thing that completely grossed us out was that the large blinds on the windows were filthy!!!
A little noisy, but delicious food that satisfied both adventurous and non adventurous eaters. And a vegetarian.
He food and service were excellent , it was noisy but i think a major factor was it was Father’s Day so lots of families with small noisy kids so wouldn’t hold it against the restaurant . I was there a prior time and didn’t perceive it being noisy and i high recommend the restaurant
We went for brunch on Father’s Day, and the service was a bit disorganized and slow. Mistakes were made in entering our order and so it took longer. They nicely allowed us to keep both orders (the mistakes and the correct ones) and they didn’t charge us for our drinks to compensate. That was very nice and appreciated. The food was good, but we missed their usual turkey sandwich - we hope it comes back.
Delicious food, great ambiance and decor, quick service!
Perfect place for a summer evening. We had drinks and played bocce and then had dinner- all outside. The scallops and cod dishes were big hits.
Ate on the outdoor patio. Nice ambiance. Surprisingly loud with the music they were playing. Food and service were great.
We had a small problem with a function being held in the enclosed patio area. It felt like we were crashing someone’s wedding. The management was extremeely apologetic, very responsive. But I would check before booking to see if the area is being shared by a group function. Otherwise I love the food, service, and the ambience is usually very good.
Hadn’t been there in awhile but glad we went back. Great atmosphere and decor.
Not too loud. Able to easily have table conversation. Waiter was excellent, attentive and knowledgeable.
Food very good to excellent. Good value.
Menu is not overwhelming but enough variation for all.
Definitely go back sooner this time around.
Our waitress was not great or very attentive
Brought a friend with significant food requirements to dinner. Our server took her seriously, conferred with the chef and manager, and marked up a menu of appropriate choices to make and suggestions for "on the side" sauces. It was truly a remarkable experience. Thanks Alex!!
I have been to this restaurant several times and have always enjoyed the food. It can be a bit noisy inside on busy nights, but if you can get a table on the patio it’s lovely.
We had Sunday Brunch on the patio with kids. The atmosphere was very pleasant and the food was delicious.
First error...... ordered a Scotch,rocks,twist.
No Scotch.went with the internet reviews...snap pea salad, half chicken.
Love the place, but our chicken salads at lunch were way too salty. Someone must have sprinkled with a very heavy hand.
Have had salads here twice and they are all excellent, fresh vegetables and just the right amount of dressing. Also like the iggy’s bread. Would definitely go back when in the area.
My family and I reserved a table at Branch Line for my Harvard graduation celebration. The food was excellent! We did family style roasted chicken along with several appetizers. Definitely some of the best food that I've had in a long time! Great ambiance. Nice menu. Definitely recommended as a way to get out of the hub of Cambridge for a nice, calm, delicious meal! Parking is great as well.
I'll give it another try because I want to try that cauliflower sandwich, but my pea salad with chicken was 100% questionable. The salad itself was lovely. But the chicken? Oy. In the first several bites alone, I had to spit three big globs of chicken fat onto my bread plate. As I kept going, I also found cartilage and a bone (once I'd already bit into them). Careless and entirely unpleasant in a dining experience.
The bread was INSANELY good, but it's not their bread, so ...
Awesome! Attention to detail is paramount here!
We had a fun lingering, very quiet Sunday brunch with old Watertown neighbors while the local Memorial Day parade was going on. Great easy parking, ADA access for friend with cane. Loved the pea tendril salads with and sans chicken OJ mimosa for gals and eggs/sausage and potatoes with special sauce for guys. I had a taste of husband’s sweet vanilla ice cream with Carmel and Hazelnut topping. Over the top taste; likely dangerous calorically, too. The bocci court staffed up with teams outside in the glorious sunshine as we wrapped up. We were grateful not to be rushed and catch up on family news and local politics and saw lots of other things we’d like to eat on the menu.
We sat outside, and the restaurant has done a wonderful job to give this area great ambiance. We were disappointed by the chicken, which was so highly rated, but which we thought really didn't have much flavor. It felt awfully overpriced. Standouts to me were the salmon entree (delicious!), the snap pea salad, and the Bocce ball court outside!
This the second time I have been there and both occasions the service was amazingly slow.
Great space — both indoor and outdoor. The rotisserie chicken with potatoes was delicious! Cod was terrific too. Interesting beer selection. Casual, fun.
I love the set-up of Branch Line. Your outside seating is outstanding. Where Branch Line could improve: 1) Service (we found that Branch Line was understaffed as the primary issue...however, our waitress was not exactly friendly) 2) Menu selection (the menu seemed to be stuck in Winter...roasted vegetables, etc. For Memorial Day Weekend...you would think that it would incorporate fresh Spring ingredients) 3) Flavors ( Branch Line has great quality food...ingredients are fresh and well cooked...if it could just enhance some of the flavor profiles it would truly differentiate itself). Thanks again for being a solid restaurant in Watertown.
Delicious food. Great service. Awesome atmosphere
Delicious dinner - we had steak, roast chicken and the burger. The roasted cauliflower with vinaigrette is amazing. The roasted potatoes with pan drippings was also popular. Awesome Caesar salad. The pan drippings appetizer is so good. Nice wine selection and a very knowledgeable sommelier. Noisy restaurant but fun atmosphere; cool old building.
A little pricey, but great outdoor seating! Service is fast, even with larger groups.
Sat at a high top on the patio. Great service. Great food. Try the calamari- delicious! Will definitely be back.
Delicious food, casual elegance, and exceptional service at the bar, and reservations are accepted for bar service.
Nice restaurant and ambience with a good beer assortment. Think it’s overpriced
Consistently delicious food. Love the patio!
Aside from the noise level , the food was great along with the wait staff. The group I was with are not wine or beer con-osiers but we were so very appreciative of the wait staff of professionals that helped us navigate through the extensive offerings. The decor was incredible and exhibited a rich culture of times gone by of the old Historic Watertown.
The food was okay. We had NY Steak Strip. It was tough and more fat than expected. The 1/2 chicken was not worth $23. It was salty. The cod was good, but nothing special. They only serve beer and wine, no cocktails. The service was good although they did not bring the second round of bread since they offered it. We will not be going back there anytime soon.
Great food, great service, beautiful design and ambiance. Thank you for a great meal and a wonderful experience!
Wonderful year round restaurant. Serves only wine and beer but the choices are deep. Food is excellent although can be uneven. For example last month the pork chop was too dry. This time it was moist and delicious. Server was perfect. Desserts yummy as well.
