Dinner at Bramble & Brine is always a treat, especially when you have David as your server. He is the ultimate server - friendly, gracious, professional, and attentive. His wonderful service adds to the restaurant's charm, along with the tasty meals. We'll be back!

This was our third time here and we absolutely love it. Dave, our server, is top notch. The food was excellent with exceptional portions. The desserts are decadent. Drinks were scrumptious. Excellent location in the heart of Main Street Lewes.

We started with the Curried Squash Soup on Natalie’s recommendation and it was terrific! A wonderful blend of flavors and the added bonus of crabmeat. For dinner I chose the Lobster Gnocchi which was tender, delicious with chunks of juicy lobster. My husband chose the Duck Entree which was finished with turnips, asparagus and a delicious sauce. Definitely a Five Star Meal!

What a wonderful dinner! The escargot is superb as well as all the entree selections each of us ordered. Ambience is extremely warm and friendly and lots of memorabilia to look at throughout the dining areas. Highly recommended, although it is pricey.

My husband and I had a fabulous dining experience at Bramble & Brine. Dare I say it exceeded our best meal at ye 'ol The Buttery (the original fine dining restaurant in the Victorian house)? My only complaint is that no one acknowledged it was our anniversary celebration despite ticking that box on OT.

First Thanksgiving in Lewes at Bramble and Brine (B&B) did not disappoint. Located in the heart of downtown Lewes, the small but quaint restaurant was impeccably dressed for the occasion with lights and holiday music playing in the background. My 3 nearly grown children and I enjoyed an artfully crafted meal made with fresh locally sourced ingredients. The escargot was meaty and flavorful immersed in herbs and butter. We shared a basket of warm fresh French bread with a side butter followed by a crab dip encased in the most flaky puff pastry. The richness of the crab juxtaposed with the light flaky pastry created a dish the taste buds will not forget soon. The scallop entree was cooked to perfection and served in a creamy sauce with what I believe was white wine and capers. Also highly recommend the lobster gnocchi which was tender and rich. The sweetness of the lobster complimented the slightly acidic tomatoes in the sauce that clung nicely to the gnocchi. Two of my children ended up sharing the special Thanksgiving dish complete with turkey, short ribs and all the fixings. While the meal was superb, the most wonderful aspect of the evening was being personally greeted by the owner. She was visibly present for the entire meal checking on guests, ensuring everyone was satisfied with their meal and dining experience. If you are looking for unique upscale French dining in Lewes, Bramble and Brine is the place to eat.

Second Thanksgiving at Bramble & Brine for us. We brought friends this time. We started with the cheeseboard and french bread for an appetizer. One was enough for 4 people, but for most they might want to order two. For dinner most everyone had the turkey dinner and I had steakfrites. The turkey plate was amazing including all the fixings and a pork chop as well as turkey. My steak was cooked perfectly and the gravy with the frites was delicious. Service was excellent as we have experienced each time. Overall an amazing Thanksgiving with friends at Bramble and Brine at the Buttery.

We had the most amazing meal at Bramble and Brine. Instead of our usual Escargot, Natalie recommended the French Onion Soup for our appetizer. I have never had anything like it! There was duck in the soup and the flavor blending was perfect! We agreed with our fellow diners at the next table that we could never order it anywhere else, it was that good! My husband had the Duck entree which is always delicious and I chose the Lobster Gnocchi with melt in your mouth gnocchi and chunks of tender tasty lobster. We had the pleasure of meeting Chef Benjie this evening and sent our compliments to him, wow! We have some new favorites now. See you next time😊

The restaurant is lovely and the staff was courteous and efficient. The decor is comfortable, inviting and has a charming vintage style. The offerings for breakfast were varied and the food was delicious. The French press coffee was a very nice touch and a very tasty addition to our meal. I’m delighted that Bramble & Brine has added breakfast and lunch to their dining offerings.

The food was exceptional for southern delaware . The duck soup was a surprise and very good . Portions were reasonable. Two shortfalls were a failure to provide bread, and the coffee which lacked body.

I ordered the steak @$55 market price. I ordered medium it came out medium rare. It had gristle and fat along one side and a portion of one end. It was only warm, not hot, and was set atop skinny, fatty, over seasoned fries and covered in a flour and pan dripping gravy not even close to a jar variety of Heinz. It was already sliced WAGYU stye to give the impression of top grade beef but was far from that. In fact, Texas Road House and Outback far surpass this grade of beef in their daily menu. The only thing Road House and Outback lack is the French language in their menu item descriptions. My wife ordered the Halibut. Again it was not only warm but also dry and very salty and a smallish portion for the price. My wife also ordered a cocktail which was almost a joke because of it's small size sort of like an "Alice in Wonderland" moment ! Really funny !! The waitress was efficient and pleasant speaking in whispers to impart a sort of elegance I'm guessing. The presentation of our final bill in a wooden box was also a strange attempt at being an extraordinary restaurant or at least trying to give the impression it is. Again we found this laughable. We were also notified our dinners were being "PLATED" a few minutes before they arrived at the table. It was anti climatic when they did arrive only lukewarm and disappointing to the taste. So much for "PLATING". There was much effort to give an impression of a restaurant far above the ordinary. From the menu written with many French descriptions to the ambiance of luxury and class in the interior visuals. Too bad the food didn't come close to the implied promise falling well below as it did. The interior was very warm, clean, comfortable, old but nicely decorated with a feeling of early 20th century in my Grandma's house.... this was the best part of the night.

From the moment when Jimmy greeted us upon our arrival we knew it was going to be a great evening. David came to our table to pour our wine and discuss our choices for dinner. We chose to share the Escargot appetizer which sometimes comes with heart shaped brioche, like last night. I ordered the Lobster Gnocchi with blistered cherry tomatoes and which was melt in your mouth delicious. My husband had the Duck Breast with baby potatoes green beans and an amazing sauce. We asked David if we could pop our heads in the kitchen to thank the staff for that awesome meal and he brought Jamare and Luis out to meet us. When my husband raved about his meal, which was expertly prepared to be gluten free, and how much he loved the sauces they prepare, I joked that he doesn’t get that at home. I can’t prepare food like them, which is why we are repeat customers and my husband can dine at Bramble and Brine at the Buttery and have amazing meals without worrying about cross-contamination. Thanks, and we’ll be back!

We had high hopes but were ultimately disappointed. My rib hash benedict would have been outstanding - unfortunately, the menu didn't mention that it was permeated with truffle, which I can't stomach. The drinks were beautiful. The atmosphere was lovely, the decor elegant. Loved the setting. It was my birthday, and we were disappointed when the dessert we asked for (I guess because we chose it off the dessert menu?) arrived with a candle but was included on our bill. No birthday treat for me! In addition, the dessert I chose was a flan that resembled a brick in its thickness and level of overdoneness. The four of us, including my dessert-loving kids, actually couldn't finish it.

We love Bramble and Brine at the Buttery. They never disappoint food or service wise. Guests are always warmly welcomed by the staff and seated promptly. We started with the escargot appetizer, which was served with heart shaped brioche. My husband had the Halibut which he raved about, especially the sauce! I chose the Meatloaf Wellington which is a big favorite if mine and it was served over puréed turnips which were smooth and delicious as well as the asparagus, roasted carrots and sauce surrounding it. There wasn’t any room for dessert, but I saw some of them go by and they looked luscious!

To say the dinning experience here was incredible would be an understatement. Our server David was so kind and knowledgeable of the menu. I have a gluten allergy and he made sure to walk me through the food items. The food was sooo good. I had the scallops and my husband had the weelington and they were both large portions. It is pricey but you get what you pay for in terms of ambiance, service and food quality. I can not wait to go back.

Our first time visiting since the change over and probably our last. I hate giving harsh ratings, and I try to be fair and understanding. The restaurant has a pretty limited menu. All entrees are $42 except the steak at $55, and soups and salads are $18. DON'T take the bread! We were asked if we wanted bread and butter, little did we know that it was $8. We ordered the Beet Salad to share, the Halibut and the Scallops. The salad was very small (2 tablespoons of arugula and maybe 1/2 beet), but tasty. It's definitely not worth $18. The Halibut and Scallops were very good. Things that ruined the dining experience: They were painting the wall in the bar area tables. We could see and smell painting. You couldn't paint whe people weren't eating? They let 4 people do a photo shoot going from room to room without regard for the diners. They were loud, disrespecting personal space and privacy. The photographer was hovering over us. The chairs in the main dining room were painfully uncomfortable. The chairs look nice, but the cushions are old and thin, so you up with bone on wood with brunched material. The floor in the porch entrance is very dirty looking. It needs a good cleaning or if unsuccessful, painting. I was facing the area. They had a nice selection of plates and bowls, but many were chipped, making them more susceptible to bacterial contamination. Overall nice place, but overpriced and they definitely need more attention to detail. Charging $8 for bread and making it sound like it's complimentary (like almost every restaurant) is unforgivable.

The white cake was phenomenal. Prices were a little high in comparison to other establishments in the area, but it was worth every penny for how delicious the food was. We had a wonderful evening from the moment when Rick welcomed and seated us with David to catching up with Jimmy and saying hello to the lovely proprietress Megan Kee! Chef Benji prepared an exquisite Duck Breast entree for my husband which was gluten free and an awesome Lobster Gnocchi entree for me. To start with, the building looks beautiful from the outside as you step in to the foyer, where the host greets you. It’s cluttered with all kinds of stuff that doesn’t really go together. There’s a beautiful fireplace behind the hostess stand that is completely covered up with junk. As you walk in to the dining area at first glance, it looks lovely until you look up and see several dead plants hanging from the ceiling… A big no-no in feng shui! The menu is limited in my opinion. We ordered the muscles which came out, completely covered in Ground chorizo, which made it impossible to even taste the delicate nature of the muscles and brought tears to my eyes. It was so hot. The waitress gladly took it back, but mentioned that other people had complained about that before… But yet nothing was ever done? That was a mind-boggling for me. We ordered the risotto as a starter to replace the muscles, the taste was decent, but it was more like a soup than a risotto. There could’ve been more mushrooms as it was a mushroom risotto with shrooms from Kennett Square. The entrées, the meatloaf Wellington, and the short rib were decent… Although for $42 a dish there could’ve been more meat on the short rib plate, instead of a gigantic bone with a small piece of meat on top of it. Our waitress was fantastic, however, I will not be rushing back.

We were rather disappointed in our dining experience after having read so many good reviews. Overall, we felt that the food was mediocre and not worth the price. The puff pastry crab appetizer was overcooked and hard. The halibut entrees were dry with little flavor, although the crab cake was decent. The peanut butter pie dessert was very good and the best part of our meal. Our server was very personable and attentive, but the room we were seated in was so loud that it was difficult to carry on a conversation. Sadly, we probably won’t be back.
