At the last minute, we booked Braise. What a wonderful find! Tasty, creative small plates with a friendly and classy waiter.
The service at Braise is wonderful and the restaurant itself has a lot of potential. That is pretty much the only positive thing I have to say. The food was pretty awful. We had the tuna latke, which was a horrible pairing. The latke was dense and not seasoned well and the tuna was not fresh at all. The crab and avocado salad was also not fresh and tasted terribly. The crab was soggy and stringy. The shrimp and grits had zero flavor and was missing seasoning across the board. The one good plate that we did have was the octopus- which was surprisingly delicious after all of the disappointments from the other dishes. The restaurant market is tough here in South Jersey because there is fantastic food everywhere. So, it is no surprise that on a Saturday night the restaurant was empty.
After reading all the great reviews on Facebook, I would say we were pretty disappointed. The grilled octopus tasted like imitation octopus (if there’s such a thing) and the cheese & charcuterie for $22 was such a rip off. The small board was 3/4 empty. I understand small plates, but I don’t understand charging the same as any other place with big plates. I had a huge charcuterie board at a beach resort for $21.
Total let down! Totally thumbs down!
I gave 4 stars because it was pricy for small plates (very small plates comparing to other Tapas restaurants).
Wanted a reasonably-priced BYO that wasn't Italian to grab dinner before a show at the Ritz in Haddon Twp. This was a great spot for that. Inexpensive small plates - three of them plus two tiny desserts for under $40 before tip. Waitress was friendly and attentive. Would go again.
We all had such a great meal. We were 5 people and we ordered 10 plates to start . We loved it all then we added another 3 plates of our favorites. Perfection. The service was great. They brought 2-3 plates out at a time. So much fun to dine this way.

Small plates were very good. The feeling I got from looking at the restaurant website didn’t translate into the dining experience I expected. The server looked overwhelmed having to wear many hats by seating, serving and clearing tables by herself. She did the best she could but you could feel her stress.
The restaurant in my opinion is very dark I would suggest either a major makeover or change locations.
Service was disorganized and they needed much more help. First two courses were not good. Meatballs dry and over cooked. Salad was pathetic. Gespacho too spicy. Third course was good. Fried chicken and briskit.
Food was good but service was too slow. Maybe under staffed??
My wife and I had some bowel issues the next day. The only thing we had that was the same was the grilled vegetable salad. I'm not say it was the salad ,thought it a little odd. I'd give it another try

I recently visited Braise for South Jersey restaurant week and it was great! We got 4 courses and it was nice to try a variety of items! The chicken meatballs were very moist and also a little spicy. The vichyssoise was delicious! It was my first time having cold soup and I enjoyed it. It was creamy and smooth. For my main course I had chicken and waffles and the chicken was cooked perfectly! The blueberry topping was delicious and a great addition. For dessert I had fresh blueberries and peaches with Chantilly cream and, once again, it was delicious!! Our server was so friendly and attentive. I hope to go back soon to try more menu items!
My wife and I like to take advantage of the local Farm-to-Fork events with various local restaurants. Everything about Braise 116 was, by far, our best experience! Every course was spectacular, and each of us ordered something different so we could sample a big part of the menu. Not only was the food delicious, its presentation and the service was outstanding. We're looking forward to returning to Braise 116 to try the appealing items on their regular menu.
My husband and I went to Braise 116 to celebrate our anniversary, and overall we were pleased. The food was pretty good and there were a lot of really intriguing options to try, and they were paced well. There was a new server that night, so they were having some service issues, but we felt taken care of. We will definitely return.
The food is fantastic, but they were understaffed on a Friday night with only one server on.
A wonderful meal can be had in very pleasant surroundings. Service is quite friendly and helpful. We plan on returning for a third time soon.
We had a very nice anniversary dinner at Braise. All of the food was presented beautifully. Some of the dishes were very tasty and others were just okay. Where some things seemed to fall short had to do with being over cooked. Two items we ordered never come out, but that ended up being okay because we over - ordered.
The dining room is comfortable with simple decor. The food was good but not special.
I gave the food 4 stars, because there was 1 plate that we did not care for. However, the waitress did not charge us for it. That what made the overall experience 5 Stars. All other food was great. Loved the octopus.
Will definitely go back.

We found Braise 116 on Open Table and made reservations for dinner tonight.
We were greeted warmly and seated by Jen and Lauren was our server for the evening. It’s a BYOB and as were perused the menu, Lauren opened the wine and went over the additional menu items for the evening. We ordered 7 dishes: Cheese & Charcuterie, Duck Pate, Wagyu Beef Tartare, Beef Cheek Bolognese, Tea Smoked Duck, Chicken & Waffle, Quail with Orange Buerre Blanc and then 3 desserts: Blood orange Sorbet, Chocolate Salted Caramel Tart and the Citrus Panna Cotta with Raspberry Gelee.
The dishes were plated beautifully, tasted great and made for a fun night of plate sharing and conversation between ourselves and with Lauren and Jen who were simply fun and delightful. Service was great, the food was very good and the ambiance and location made for a perfect night all around. Chef Mark Raab stopped by our table to say hello and wish us a ‘Happy Anniversary’ then made his way through the dining room checking on diners.
Braise also has a lunch menu with some interesting items such as the Pork Belly Bahn Mi and his versions of the Cubano and the Salade Nicoise. We will definitely be stopping in to see what lunch is like at Braise 116.
Delicious small plates meant to share with 1 or 2 others. Everything was delicious except for the Wagayu Beef Tartar- for $26, I would avoid it! It had some sort of sauce or mayo in it that was not tasty at all. Expect to spend about $30-40/pp and leave satisfied but not overstuffed. Our faves were the grilled octopus, wagayu filet mignon, carmelized beets, brussel sprouts and braised beef cheek bolognese. Highly recommend if you want to try a little bit of everything.
Very good tapas byob. Pasta dishes were fantastic and mushroom tartlets were fantastic. I recommend giving it a try with friends
Food was great and service was just right. Spot is a bit hidden so you might not see it unless you are looking. For t but it is well worth the effort to find it. The range of tapas was diverse enough to make he menu quite interesting and the flavors were well balanced. Staff was friendly and helpful without being overbearing. Was one of the few restaurants in the area with great food without too much noise so you can have a conversation. Great date night. Will definitely come back.
Fabulous food and fabulous service! Space was amazing and unique! Hoping to experience outside dining on the next visit (weather was not cooperating this time).
All of our selections were delicious, creative and amazing. We were a party of four with two "foodies" and two less adventurous (i.e., picky) eaters and all of us were thrilled. The service provided by Erin (sp?)and the rest of the staff was professional and exceptional. I would enthusiastically recommend this restaurant to everyone who appreciates great food, great service and great value. We even had the opportunity to meet the chef which is an honor in itself and more apt to happen in a smaller, more intimate setting such as the one that Braise offers. Enjoy.
First time at Braise and could not be happier. Celebrating a special birthday and loved the quiet casual atmosphere. Sampled grilled octopus which was light and charred perfect. Braised beef cheek was so hearty and delicious. Tuna lakke was really good. Finished off with tiramisu. Will be coming back. Need to try this new place!

I went to Braise 116 on Mother’s Day with my two daughters and had a lovely dinner. All the dishes we ordered were delicious and we were able to order as we liked. We ordered four and then four more and weren’t rushed so we could talk over dinner. Would highly recommend.

It was one of the worst dining experiences. We were seated upstairs but no one came to take our order for 15 mins. When they finally came the waitress and the hostess came and each took part of the order (because hostess said she was helping out). In the process, they botched the order only put in 3 of the 5 items we ordered. The 3 items came pretty quickly but soon it was apparent that the other 2 were missed. The hostess apologized and put in the order but got it wrong a second time as one of the two was a repeat of an item we had already ordered. 90 frustrating mins later, we had to plead for our check and wait another 10 mins before finally being able to get out of there, never to return. Not the experience one would expect for a Saturday night.
Went there on a Saturday night out with my wife. The place is tastefully decorated. Was well attended but not overcrowded. Staff was very friendly, genuine, and prompt. Very good food, beautifully and thoughtfully arranged. Only one item (tuna latkes) was just ok, everything else was very tasty. Prices are ok. Certainly helps that it is BYOB. Will come again.
Variety of small bite tapas type. Favorite shrimp with grits, which was more like a polenta cake. Spring rolls were underwhelming. Fun meal
