Great food and good service.
Staff was outstanding.
Dinner for four adults and two children. Fixe Prix three course menu for SNC restaurant month. Food selection, quality, and quantity were very good. Wine pairing with each of three courses was also very good. Appetizer chosen was a seafood gumbo that was so substantial as to be as filling as an entrée. Trout entrée with pecan coating, lump crabmeat/mushroom/sauce was very good as well.
Been eating at Brady's Landing (formerly Shanghai Reds/Brady's Landing) for perhaps 40 years. Went to many, many business meetings there. And now continue eating at Brady's Landing for special occasions and holiday meals as I find this restaurant to be a warm, comforting place with good wait staff/service.
Not an easy place to find unless one has already been there. Off the beaten track in an industrial area. Nevertheless, Brady's is located on its own large grassy lot overlooking the San Jacinto ship channel. While eating this time, saw a large ship being turned around by several tugboats in the "turning basin". Interesting addition to dinner.
Particularly like the lunch buffet with that same seafood gumbo.
Horrible experience, food and service. The place smells and outdated. Never again.
Mrs Lisa would hold her own at any of the best restaurants in Houston! She gets to know her customers, relates to the home and remembers them the next time they come in. Highly recommend requesting her as part of your waitstaff.
2 Larger parties were celebrating their day. Which in turned caused our menu to be the buffet. The food was not properly replenished in a timely manner. The waiters looked relaxed, not interested. Our waiter took a while to come ask what we wanted to drink. We were a bit confused if someone was going to tell us about the menu for the day. When we reached the buffet a lot of missing items had not been replaced. Hard time finding a waiter to come replenish food. When asked for our tab, our waiter took a while to bring us the check. Restrooms A/C was either out or non existent. Fans were put out, not pleasant for the 2 large parties and their families. It wasn't what I was expecting from this place for a Saturday night.
Overpriced fathers day buffet for the same food you can get on a regular day.
The crab was not fresh. Extremely watery from being froven. The fried shrimp was also from frozen. The cheese table was melted from how hot it was in that place. The prime rib was dry. And the serving plates were too hot to handle. Will never go here again.
We had been there for their Christmas buffet and had wonderful food and great service. Father's Day was a completely different experience. The service was terrible. We went long periods of time without drink refills. The prime rib was dry. It was very hot inside. Certainly not worth $50 a person! Probably will not go back.
The Father's Day Brunch Buffett was wonderful!!!
We were very pleased with the food and service. Will definitely eat there again!
We enjoyed everything on Sunday. The only thing that was not pleasureable was the air. It was very hot in there while eating.
Restaurant owner should reinvest in dining room updates . Carpet needs to be replaced. Fresh paint is needed. Overall the Food was average. Salad bar was the best quality. Cooked veggies a disappointment. Fried fish had good flavor. Desserts were very average; bread pudding was good. Spectacular view but lacking in ambience and quality.
Brady's Landing has one of the best brunch buffets in the Houston Area. The food is fresh and abundant. The wait staff is prompt and attentive. The hardest part is deciding where to start. Located near the Houston Turning basin, visitors get to se the everyday waterfront activities.
I will definitely go back.
We actually dined at Brady's Landing twice this week, once with a group and with the family on Sunday to celebrate my wife's birthday. Brady's Landing is her favorite restaurant and she especially loves the pecan pie there. Our only complaint on both days was mashed potatoes that were not mashed, were cold, and seemed to lack milk, butter and salt. However apart from that single item, the meal was great (the seafood was especially good) and the waitress was incredibly attentive. The waitress even went to the kitchen to get pecan pie for us since it was not on the buffet when we were ready for dessert.
It was also great value as four of the eight of us were senior citizens and got a great discount. We will of course return as we have been doing for many years.
Overpriced and outdated. Should have dined at Golden Corral! Better food and cheaper!
We had an excellent fish dinner on Monday night at Brady's Landing. Both the foods and the service were great...thank the chef for greeting us and making such delicious fish dishes.
Out of food but still same price. Really dissappointed
The food was really good, great selection on the buffet. The not so great parts were; slow service, some of the desserts (chocolate cake, pecan pie) were literally frozen and the price was way too much for the ambiance, food and value. It wants to be fine dining but it's just not. We spent $50/plate plus tip. I wish we would've went elsewhere for Mother's Day.
Mother's day brunch was a bit off, but normally they are very good.
Good cold, trays empty and much fewer choices for a higher cost. Won't go back
After hearing how great this place is for weddings we decided to try it for Mothers Day brunch.
That was a very bad decision.
The food choices were very minimal; flavors bland. Every tray was empty and you had to stand at the buffet tables and wait in hopes to be one of the first 10 to get a serving because they were not brining enough food.
The Hostess had no clue what she was doing, even though we made reservations. The wait staff at your table I'd give 2/5 and the food servers at the omelette and meat stations were high school kids with no clue.
I would NOT recommend Brady's Landing
My Family had been going to Brady's Landing for years and I say, " had been because it would take major changes before we eat there again". On Mother's Day we were seated in the Grand Ball Room before the food was totally set-up. One would have thought the food would be HOT and ready, as they were bringing it out of the kitchen. Only ONE ITEM was HOT, the scrambled eggs due to the fact you had to stand in line to order them to be prepared. Absolutely EVERYTHING else was not even warm but COLD. It seems that their decision to not prepare eggs and put into a server was that to many were left over last year. Then cut the quantity down and just keep filling it as it is called for. How simple is that. Instead, a line all the way across the Grand Ball Room floor was formed for some type of egg preparation. If this was their plan, then why not have at least 3 or 4 people preparing them. Instead there was ONLY ONE poor person working as fast as the eggs would cook. Ice was still on the CRAB LEGS, not from the mound of ice they were placed on but from the bags they were frozen in. Why can the Crabs and shrimp not be served hot as well.
Then AGAIN, why not attempt to serve ANYTHING HOT? VERY EXPENSIVE MEAL FOR A FAMILY OF SEVEN who had to eat cold food or the choice of nothing.
Had a 10:00 reservation and they weren't even seating people at 10. The first batch of plates were cold, which made the food cold, mimosas were watered down, the bacon was sitting in grease, the waffles tasted like oil, the greats were dry and thick, the omlet makers were slow and each was only doing one omlet at a time. I worked in food service and at a minimum each person had two pans going. Also there were a few empty food pans at one time. This was Mother's Day and I spent $200 on a meal that was not worthy of that amount. The set up was beautiful, but the only thing I enjoyed, was the Steam ship round (even though there was no Au Ju sauce) and the crabs. There also was no tartar sauce for the seafood or any salsa for the eggs. I was truly disappointed with the food.
It took one hour and ten minutes to get an appetiser, and it was bloody, rare chicken wings. Our server was helpful but she was the only one working and had too many tables. The drinks were very watered down and the filet mignon was like leather. I never write bad reviews, but this was the worst meal I've had in years.
Having not been to Brady's Landing in very many years, my husband and I decided to celebrate our wedding anniversary there. We were very disappointed. It was not at all the restaurant we remembered. The food was mediocre and the service extremely slow (even though there was literally one other couple in the restaurant). It is definitely not worth the price.
The Sunday brunch is wonderful. The water view is great. You also get all the mimosas that you want.
We had a wonderful time. I had read a lot of negative reviews about the ambiance, but we were so busy looking out at the water, we didn't care about carpet that wasn't perfect. The food was delicious. Our server, Nora, was wonderful. All in all, a great experience. So glad we went.
Great place to dine. The food and staff are top notch. I will be visiting again real soon. Great view , great service and excellent food. Would not change a thing.
Food was very good- a good selection. Food servers were pleasant- Yette our waitress was very attentive (considering that it was Easter Sunday).
