Service and food were amazing!! Michelle was a doll! The only thing that was not okay was that the piped in music was way too loud. Not sure if we were seated right by a speaker but it was hard to hear our server and each other.
Food was delicious and service was great!
Always enjoy lunch here before a performance at the Benedum.
Sunday Brunch. Since we go here from time to time, I can say that the food here is best described as uneven. This time it was only adequate. We opted for the eggs benedict instead of the breakfast buffet. My eggs were not runny, the ham/Canadian bacon was tough and dry as if overcooked, the English muffin was soggy and the sauce scant. The hash browns, probably prepared for the buffet, were nice and crispy. The Bloody Mary was good, not overly spicy. The service was attentive, although my second cup of coffee was poured without asking me, so it was cold by the time I got to it.
We'll try again. Hopefully it will be better next time.
The occasion was meal with family before an event. We mentioned that fact more than TWICE to the waitress but she was VERY slow in taking our orders, delivering meals, (another male staff member delivered our meals) and delivering our check. We felt she was not as attentive as should have been nor cared about our voiced scheduled event. When she did come to the table she was animated but of course, that was what she was expected to be, not sincerely attentive.
The specialty of the day, crab cakes was okay, the squash with the risotto was good but bland, not memorable. Our appetizers, the cheese board was overpriced for the amount served. The wafer type bread, cheese selections and the one spiced salami meat selection were great!; just not enough for four guest (consider some other meat selections for this item) and the calamari was very good. Overall it was okay, not a dining event we would rave about to others.
Had not had a pork shank in years. This one was especially tender and flavorful with a delightful apple-based sauce. The sweet potato hash served with it was great also.
My wife and I were a bit put off by the fact that this is a (Marriott) hotel dining room. I do not need another Marriott meal. However, the food was was above standard Marriott fare (I'm a Marriott guy, and I love the hotel, but let's face it, the food is institutional). Anyway, the chef came out, and explained that he is not controlled by Marriott - he can do pretty much what he wants with certain guidelines. Well, he does a great job within those guidelines, as we had a great dinner. Would recommend to a friend.
We were very disappointed in the food. It wasn’t bad; It just wasn’t really good. The service was very good though.
The drinks and service were amazing. Starters (meat and cheese board and tomato bruschetta) were so delicious and dinner was fantastic.
The food was delicious. Presentation of food was excellent. Service was good.
Delicious food, and great service! I took my mother here for her birthday. Would recommend to anyone! I look forward to coming back.
Excellent service. Catered to our theater time. Food was all delicious. Nice specials
Was a great restaurant, and the food was well proportioned. Can't believe I am saying this, but the quesadilla dish as an appetizer is actually too large. maybe 4 max would be better. Almost was too much for the main course.
The decor was great. The service and ambience was excellent. The good was very good. A wonderful experience.
Stumbled upon this restaurant while in Pittsburgh. It’s the restaurant for the Renaissance Hotel, and the architecture is fabulous! Food was good but not great, service was slow.
Worst experience with a disorganized wait staff and kitchen I have ever encountered. And we were 2 of 6 people in the restuarant.
We ordered the meat and cheese plate which was great. Also had the ribeye and the scallops which were excellent as well. The risotto was a great side as well as the roasted vegetables. It made our anniversary weekend great.
Scallops were not seared and mushy. Soup was good. Drinks were good. I appreciated the gluten free bread. Fruit flies were bugging us. Kale looked like it was cooked earlier and not green or fresh. Overpriced. Did not realize until we arrived that it was a hotel restaurant.
Met with girlfriends for lunch after a nice downtown tour. Relaxing environment and we were able to chat comfortably. The menu had many great choices. Most of the girls had a salad based entree while I went wholeheartedly into the bourbon burger and fries. Everyone was in the clean plate club. Delicious. The wait staff was very accommodating and efficient catering to our every need while allowing us our space to chat.
Dinner before CLO musical “Oklahoma”
Pre-theatre. Very Good! Very attentive to theatre time.
Food was very good. This was our second time there and we were very impressed just like the first time!
Leisurely lunch before a show at the Benedum. We come here because good service gets us in and out in plenty of time to get to the show.
The food was hit or miss. What was good, was very good, calamari appetizer and scallop entree were delicious. However the steak tar tar was horrible. Admittedly, I did not share this with the server, I didn't want to make an issue of it but realize I should have politely shared that it was not good. The quality of the meat was not good, it was prepared in a way I've never seen tar tar prepared, it was very large chunks and not very tender and the presentation in the jar was extremely unappetizing. I saw another table ask for it to be taken away so they didn't like it either.
My other source of confusion is that the name of the restaurant changed slightly but a lot of the menu is similar to what it was when it was Braddock's Brasserie. Not to be unkind, but it seems this place just isn't sure what it wants to be. It's very convenient to cultural district which is why we were there, some of the food is good but with so many other places downtown, I may not return here.
We went for brunch and had the buffet. It was delicious with a lot of different offerings. I loved the prime rib and the sautéed perogies. Fantastic service completed our experience.
We used to dine at Braddock's regularly and always found it to be consistently excellent and a good value... but that was several years ago and it seems like something changed. My wife and I had to wait what seemed like forever for our second round of drinks (a Manhattan and a Martini) because they ran out of our liquor of choice. I would have gladly been given an alternate instead of having to wait for them to go and get more. For dinner I had the ribeye... it was marinated which was unusual since ribeyes are generally very flavorful. It was cooked to order, but the cut and flavor was underwhelming. My wife had the grouper special and it was overcooked and not delicious. I'd love to dine at Braddock's again since we've had such good experiences in the past and the atmosphere is excellent... I hope they get it together!
A positive dining experience. Our server was prompt and polite. Food came out at a good pace. We enjoyed the (red pepper with chicken) pasta special and a salad, which we asked to have split. The plates came out nicely prepared and the portions were generous, despite our decision to split the order (we had a play and could not take any leftovers with us.) The panko-covered zucchini planks were fun for a Pittsburgher like me, although the planks were a bit heavily breaded. The cocktail menu and whiskey flights were extensive and we each tried something new for a mixed drink (the Charlie Brown) and whiskey. It's rare to see so many options on a local menu.
It's a hotel restaurant. The food is OK and the place was empty. Service is very good but I wouldn't go back.
Server appeared annoyed when taking our order. Was short and did not allow time to ask for anything additional like ketchup of another drink.sat us at the bottom of the stairs while it appeared that they were breaking down a party upstairs, and carried tables etc over our heads.
The food used to be much better. New ownership or new management changed the menu items and increased the prices. $26 for a beet salad with four small over cooked shrimp is not good value for money. Everything about the salad was a step down from its previous version including the size of the salad and the shrimp. Other favorite menu items have suffered the same fate. We have gone to Braddock’s before theater for years, but we are now looking for somewhere else.
Anytime we have plans for going into the city, we always make Braddocks a must for lunch. Having a choice of a breakfast buffet or ordering off the menu is a nice feature we look forward too. Our server was excellent in suggesting the soup, sandwiches and sides that we were interested in and selected. We enjoyed all! Thank you again for a wonderful lunch before our day touring Pittsburgh!
Going to a concert
Everything was great
Pleasantly surprised at how good the food was, I hadn't heard recommendations. They do have weddings outside the restaurant sometimes on Saturday
If I could have given zero stars I would have! We arrived at 5:55 to a dining room that had many empty tables. We immediately informed our waiter that we had theater tickets and would need to leave no later than 7:30. We ordered our dinners and two appetizers. We had to ask about the appetizers...a salad and quesadillas...several times. It was half an hour before they arrived. We never saw the waiter again and at 7:20 with no waiter or dinner in sight, put cash on the table and left. We went to the theater hungry, frustrated and sure that we will never patronize Braddocks again.
Braddock's is a convenient and nice place to go before a show in Pittsburgh. We were there on a Saturday night and gave ourselves plenty of time to have a relaxing dinner. We informed our server that we had a performance at 8:00 which was a good idea because the service was extremely slow. I had the fish and chips which were to my liking, lightly fried. My husband had the salmon which he also enjoyed. Bread and oil were brought to our table which I always enjoy. However, the bread was stale on this night. Other than that, it was a good meal and we will be back.
Autumn was my waitress, she was great and attentive. The food was more than satisfactory and it was worth the money.
Overpriced for the amount of food and the fish dish was not good.
Second time there. Was disappointed as food not as good as the first time. Service was great though. Beef noodle salad loaded with too much lettuce. Friends corn that came with salmon dish very greasy. Fried green tomato appetizer great though.
Had the Salmon dinner. Salmon was perfectly prepared and delicious. However, the serving size of the salmon itself was small for the price.
We were there on a weeknight so there was not much of a crowd and was very quiet..Therefore the service was prompt and pleasant Nice for an intimate dinner but hard to judge on a busier night
Mother’s Day buffet was wonderful
Great food and service. Michael our waiter was fantastic.
