Met with girlfriends for lunch after a nice downtown tour. Relaxing environment and we were able to chat comfortably. The menu had many great choices. Most of the girls had a salad based entree while I went wholeheartedly into the bourbon burger and fries. Everyone was in the clean plate club. Delicious. The wait staff was very accommodating and efficient catering to our every need while allowing us our space to chat.
Dinner before CLO musical “Oklahoma”
Pre-theatre. Very Good! Very attentive to theatre time.
Food was very good. This was our second time there and we were very impressed just like the first time!
Leisurely lunch before a show at the Benedum. We come here because good service gets us in and out in plenty of time to get to the show.
The food was hit or miss. What was good, was very good, calamari appetizer and scallop entree were delicious. However the steak tar tar was horrible. Admittedly, I did not share this with the server, I didn't want to make an issue of it but realize I should have politely shared that it was not good. The quality of the meat was not good, it was prepared in a way I've never seen tar tar prepared, it was very large chunks and not very tender and the presentation in the jar was extremely unappetizing. I saw another table ask for it to be taken away so they didn't like it either.
My other source of confusion is that the name of the restaurant changed slightly but a lot of the menu is similar to what it was when it was Braddock's Brasserie. Not to be unkind, but it seems this place just isn't sure what it wants to be. It's very convenient to cultural district which is why we were there, some of the food is good but with so many other places downtown, I may not return here.
We went for brunch and had the buffet. It was delicious with a lot of different offerings. I loved the prime rib and the sautéed perogies. Fantastic service completed our experience.
We used to dine at Braddock's regularly and always found it to be consistently excellent and a good value... but that was several years ago and it seems like something changed. My wife and I had to wait what seemed like forever for our second round of drinks (a Manhattan and a Martini) because they ran out of our liquor of choice. I would have gladly been given an alternate instead of having to wait for them to go and get more. For dinner I had the ribeye... it was marinated which was unusual since ribeyes are generally very flavorful. It was cooked to order, but the cut and flavor was underwhelming. My wife had the grouper special and it was overcooked and not delicious. I'd love to dine at Braddock's again since we've had such good experiences in the past and the atmosphere is excellent... I hope they get it together!
A positive dining experience. Our server was prompt and polite. Food came out at a good pace. We enjoyed the (red pepper with chicken) pasta special and a salad, which we asked to have split. The plates came out nicely prepared and the portions were generous, despite our decision to split the order (we had a play and could not take any leftovers with us.) The panko-covered zucchini planks were fun for a Pittsburgher like me, although the planks were a bit heavily breaded. The cocktail menu and whiskey flights were extensive and we each tried something new for a mixed drink (the Charlie Brown) and whiskey. It's rare to see so many options on a local menu.
It's a hotel restaurant. The food is OK and the place was empty. Service is very good but I wouldn't go back.
Server appeared annoyed when taking our order. Was short and did not allow time to ask for anything additional like ketchup of another drink.sat us at the bottom of the stairs while it appeared that they were breaking down a party upstairs, and carried tables etc over our heads.
The food used to be much better. New ownership or new management changed the menu items and increased the prices. $26 for a beet salad with four small over cooked shrimp is not good value for money. Everything about the salad was a step down from its previous version including the size of the salad and the shrimp. Other favorite menu items have suffered the same fate. We have gone to Braddock’s before theater for years, but we are now looking for somewhere else.
Anytime we have plans for going into the city, we always make Braddocks a must for lunch. Having a choice of a breakfast buffet or ordering off the menu is a nice feature we look forward too. Our server was excellent in suggesting the soup, sandwiches and sides that we were interested in and selected. We enjoyed all! Thank you again for a wonderful lunch before our day touring Pittsburgh!
Going to a concert
Everything was great
Pleasantly surprised at how good the food was, I hadn't heard recommendations. They do have weddings outside the restaurant sometimes on Saturday
If I could have given zero stars I would have! We arrived at 5:55 to a dining room that had many empty tables. We immediately informed our waiter that we had theater tickets and would need to leave no later than 7:30. We ordered our dinners and two appetizers. We had to ask about the appetizers...a salad and quesadillas...several times. It was half an hour before they arrived. We never saw the waiter again and at 7:20 with no waiter or dinner in sight, put cash on the table and left. We went to the theater hungry, frustrated and sure that we will never patronize Braddocks again.
Braddock's is a convenient and nice place to go before a show in Pittsburgh. We were there on a Saturday night and gave ourselves plenty of time to have a relaxing dinner. We informed our server that we had a performance at 8:00 which was a good idea because the service was extremely slow. I had the fish and chips which were to my liking, lightly fried. My husband had the salmon which he also enjoyed. Bread and oil were brought to our table which I always enjoy. However, the bread was stale on this night. Other than that, it was a good meal and we will be back.
Autumn was my waitress, she was great and attentive. The food was more than satisfactory and it was worth the money.
Overpriced for the amount of food and the fish dish was not good.
Second time there. Was disappointed as food not as good as the first time. Service was great though. Beef noodle salad loaded with too much lettuce. Friends corn that came with salmon dish very greasy. Fried green tomato appetizer great though.
Had the Salmon dinner. Salmon was perfectly prepared and delicious. However, the serving size of the salmon itself was small for the price.
We were there on a weeknight so there was not much of a crowd and was very quiet..Therefore the service was prompt and pleasant Nice for an intimate dinner but hard to judge on a busier night
Mother’s Day buffet was wonderful
Great food and service. Michael our waiter was fantastic.
Server was clearly very busy which I was willing to give him some leeway but he legit only came back to our table twice during the hour and a half we were there. Omelette man for the Buffett brunch was amazing. Service at the table left something to desired.
Mother’s Day... wasn’t as nice as last year!
We went for the Mother's Day buffet. Most of the food was very good and service there is always great. I did think though that the price of the buffet, based on the selection, was too high. Limited food selection for a buffet. I would go there for dinner. I have been there before for dinner and enjoyed it, but probably not again for a holiday brunch
Food was good to very good, nice portions for the price. Not too bad for eating before shows. Service was very good. A little noisy with two wedding receptions going on in the lobby. Overall not too bad. I would rate it at 3 1/2 stars.
Always a great experience at this restaurant. Excellent service by our server, Autumn. Had the Filet mignon. Perfectly cooked. Definitely a good value also.
Amazing food and drinks. Fast and friendly service!
We ate at Braddock's Rebellion before the Liberty Magic performance. Both picked the steak, great food, excellent service, & there's hangman on the table while you wait.
Good meal good service in a timely fashion. Our need to be finished for an upcoming show was cheerfully accommodated
go to hyde park instead. same prices.
35$ steak was pure fat.
My family of 4, with reservations, being seated alone in a run down second level alcove with worn out furnishings for Easter brunch should give you a good feel for our experience. I suppose I should’ve complained more harshly rather than just politely ask if there was another option. I was told the restaurant was very busy and this overspill area was destined to be used significantly, yeah right. The only other customers we saw up there raised a big stink and were moved to the lower level where everyone else was. It was amazing that each time made the trek I noticed at least 5-6 empty tables, huh.
Food was very average, not hot and selections were minimal. It was by far the worst value for the $ that I recall. I don’t know if the manager had never been responsible for this type of event or if they hired temps or interns but they made no effort to improve our experience. The host was very apologetic when I told her of our disappointment so she was quite aware of the situation but they took no action to remedy.
Food as usual was outstanding! Waiter was very attentive just like he always are. Servers at the food stations were friendly and exceptional. We had a wonderful relaxing time. The price was kind of high which was a disappointment but I know on the special occasions most places do this, so it wasn’t a big deal! Already booked for mother’s day.
Ribeye marked as "specialty" was overcooked and the server disappeared for a long period of time while I sat on front of a steak I didn't eat. I've had better meals at Denny's. No wonder it was empty on a Friday night.
Excellent food...service was outstanding and the staff was very friendly and knowledgeable about the food and the drinks , will definitely come back
All was great, except food. Three dinners. One was very good. The other two, meh. The mushroom pasta with chicken lacked flavor. No amount of salt or pepper helped.
Verry Good food. Creative drinks. Service was a bit slow and non-attentive.
The bartenders and waitstaff were attentive and went out of their way for us. We were there having dinner before a show at they Byham and all three of us were happy with our dinners. Great experience.
We totally enjoyed the Sunday Buffet. Usually a buffet is way too much average food. Braddocks Rebellion is the exception to this rule...the food was outstanding as was the variety of dishes. Presentation was equally as good.
