Very nice dinner and very nice atmosphere. The food was very good and the service was good. The only complaint I would have is that we would have liked our water filled a little more frequently and have serving spoons in the family style meal provided for Thanksgiving.
Great Thanksgiving fixed price/menu meal.
Spending Thanksgiving on our own, we wanted somewhere where we knew the service would be good, the food great and a decent atmosphere. Brabo didn’t disappoint. We have a lovely evening, our server was great and all the food tasted wonderful - especially the spicy pumpkin soup and the braised beef.
Thanksgiving at Brabo was amazing. Easy parking, friendly helpful attentive staff, and food that was just amazing. We really liked the family style service and being able to try everything on the menu.
Thanksgiving meal with friends and family. Excellent menu with variations on traditional menu plus some extras. Quality of preparation was beyond expectations given mass produced pre-fix menu. Not too crowded and service was excellent. Overall experience was very good.
Would have given five stars across board, but there were a few times where I had to ask for utensils.
I took friends/clients out for Thanksgiving at Brabo's. It was perfect. An abundance of food/courses that were delicious & presented beautifully but it was the Service that put it over the top. The wait staff anticipated every need before we even knew we needed it (but also weren't hovering). I can't recommend it enough.
Ate at Brabo for Thanksgiving and it was fantastic! They had a fixed price menu for Thanksgiving, served family style. Every item on the two course meal (plus dessert) was cooked to perfection. The standouts were the turkey, which was very flavorful, and the butternut squash soup, simply amazing! I will definitely return.
Pricey Thanksgiving meal. Not much other dining options on Thanksgiving. I guess lucky they were open
Wonderful dinner, friendly staff and nice setting.
Wonderful night!! Amazing food and cocktails. Servers and bartender were both amazing!!
Great service and great food. Will definitely go back in the future.
They are back on their game. First time back since the COVID shutdown. OUTSTANDING duck with barley risotto, cooked perfectly medium rare and with the risotto and other accompaniments providing the perfect complement to the duck. Grilled octopus app was perfection, too. Wish we'd had ordered two or tried the rillette. (Next time!) Great Malbec wine and sparkling wine. Only quibble was that the martini might have been made with sweet vermouth, but uh...that ain't gonna prevent a return visit! Oh, and the creme brulee had a really nice char and ample, fresh fruit. Wonderful meal for sure. Great service, but I can't recall the woman's name.
We loved our meal here--it exceeded our expectations. The cocktails were truly special and everything we had was yummy. Our server was a delight. Highly recommended.
We sat in the dining area near the bar. It was VERY VERY noisy. Even after bar cleared out, the noise in the dining area was very loud. Restaurant needs something to muffle noise. Otherwise delicious food and good service!
This place always delivers great food and great service. The venison dish is absolutely amazing, I hope it never goes away. This place holds a top spot in Alexandria dining for us
Great service. Cocktail portions were microscopic.
Customer service was great, easy check-in/out. The room was fantastic, clean and ready. The tub spigot was small and slow, it took more than 15 minutes to fill the tub, surprisingly the water remained hot. We did not use the spa, so no feedback.
The Brabo restaurant was nice, good atmosphere, food (entree) tasted good, and the figgy pudding was amazing.
The service was flawless. The food is exceptional. The cocktails are creative and delicious. It was a wonderful dinner.
Matt (our bartender/waiter) was absolutely phenomenal
Always our go-to for a special meal or when we feel like being pampered!
The new fall menu is nice upgrade.
The wines by the glass need a huge overhall-- especially the Pinot Noir-- must be replaced . You took away a delicious Pinot Noir from Williamette Valley Oregon, and the replacements should not be consumed . The decision to replace seems to have been made by a person who does not know or drink wine . Water is a better choice
I visited Brabo a couple years ago and their menu has changed but I highly recommend coming here for their brunch and get the eggs benedict on their gruyere potato cake! So delicious!!!
Server was not great. Food was decent but not wow.
Having been here several times before under different chefs, first time dining with the newest chef, Ethan. After being greeted by a friendly host who immediately seated us, our congenial and very professional server was exceptional. We started off with an excellent hearty French onion soup and a plentiful petit salad with a light but flavorful vinaigrette followed by entrees of scallops and steak frites both cooked perfectly. We ended on a sweet note with the crème brulee and the special French cake, both very satisfying. We were happily surprised by the number of well-priced half bottles of superior wines on the wine list which worked perfectly to accompany a fish and meat entrée. Lovely atmosphere in the L'Orien Hotel. A wonderful choice for hotel guests as well as the locals.
Best halibut I ever had, diver scallops melt in your mouth Manhattans made well but a little pricey .,;not a bad thing on the menu !!
Surprisingly good! After a long day of touring, we didn’t want to leave the hotel so opted to eat at Brabo. We were pleasantly surprised! Food was delicious, service great, ambience and noise level great
Way too loud. Servings are awfully skimpy and no vegetable . Very pricey for small amount of food
Our party of three really enjoyed our birthday celebration at Brabo. The food and service were excellent. We had three different appetizers and three different entrees. The only item we had that disappointed was the side of artichoke hearts. I had not been to Brabo for several years because my last time it really was not anything special. This experience was so much better.
Outstanding meal at Brabo last night!
Husband enjoyed the venison, I had the mushroom fettuccine dish - we both loved our meals. Quality, first-class ingredients. Quality ingredients means a healthy meal!
Hats off to the chef (chefs) and kitchen, they are doing great work!
This was a great place to take a quasi-business dinner and the server/bar tender made the evening all the more special. He was consistently patient with us, gave meaningful, personal views on the drinks and meal selections, and went above and beyond when he heard mention of it being one of our diner's birthdays. All four of us got to experience Brabo for the first time and I can say that we will be going back.
One small note, the front seating area was a bit "cold" and oddly placed seating that didn't fit with the rest of the vibe. If you can, sit in the back and it seems you will have a more intimate experience worthy of the food selections and service.
Food is overpriced, either too bland, sweet, salty, etc. Way too loud. No valet parking. The waitstaff was unfriendly. We won’t be coming back.
A wonderful experience last night. Cocktails and wine selection was great and the food was fabulous!
Our server did an excellent job since they were short on staff
Food was delicious. We had Foie Gras and it was awesome
We had a delicious salad. One of us had venison which was done perfectly. The veal tenderloin medallions were also excellent
They have a great wine list. There are glasses of wine and also 1/2 bottles.
We would go back😊
The service was very slow. We believe they forgot about our order. My wife's pasta was more "pasta-watery" than creamy. The mussels were uninspired and the frites were generic.
Brabo is one of the best restaurants in old town! The food is some of the best food we have ever ate. You can tell the products are good quality and proper time is taken to prepare the best food possible. The wine selection is huge, they have something for everyone. The service is also amazing! We have never had a bad experience here and love everything about this restaurant.
Excellent food, great service, ample space between tables, good location near metro, fair pricing, nice portions.
Server was very nice, but not helpful at all. It was our first time at the restaurant, so we asked for recommendations but Marj said she never ate or tried the plates we asked about it (not her fault, management should allow servers to try all food so they can advise guests, my opinion at least). She did suggest the appetizer, foie Gras and it was delicious. But we were super disappointed with the entrees. So disappointed, I would never eat dinner here (maybe I would return for a drink, I tried the Millionaire something, I forget the exact name, but it was a nice), but that’s it. We ordered the Venison and Chicken for entrees, both lacked seasoning and any flavor. The chicken looked yummy, but tasted like nothing. And the side that it came with, was pointless, and had no flavor.
The food was terrific and our server, David, was outstanding, providing terrific service and knowledgeable suggestions.
It was a very nice meal with good service and good food. Definitely worth the visit. Fresh ingredients. Well prepared. Zero complaints.
