Excellent food and service. Today was very cold Outside and doors open at precisely 5pm no waiting area or heat warmers outside so that is the only downside to the EGR restaurant. Best cucumber gimlet ever🙌

I have loved this place in the past (even recently) and have had great experiences. Sadly, tonight wasn’t one of them. I’d made a reservation weeks ago only to be shoved in the corner of the bar, staring at a dish rack. We seemed to have been forgotten about by our server until another picked us up. Seafood tower (which I’ve had and been impressed by before) was …. Lame. Salad was grossly over dressed, lardons were slathered in bbq sauce (why?), steak wasn’t seasoned. I was really, really disappointed in a place that’s always impressed before.

Five of us had dinner Saturday evening. First time. It was noisier than I expected which seemed more due to the acoustics than the diners. The food was excellent, we all had steaks. They were pricey. The potatoes for sharing were meager. I would have liked to have seen creamed spinach on the menu. Our service was excellent.

Great service. Limited menu, which I am actually mentioning as a positive. Fewer choices is easier and also allows cooks and chefs to focus on making fewer dishes very well. They obviously specialize in steak, so we ordered a Filet Mignonette (bone out) and my husband ordered a Tomahawk. The filet was a textbook medium rare (warm red center), which you honestly hardly ever see (at least where I live - you usually get a medium). Melt in your mouth tender. My husband thought the seasoning was a bit light, but I suppose that’s better than over seasoned. Mushrooms were very delicious. Not too loud, even when bigger parties showed up. Great ambiance. I’ve honestly just had equally as good steaks at restaurants that were expensive, but not this expensive. It was a nice celebration meal, but doesn’t stick out as one of the best flavors or meals I’ve ever had.

Nice greeting, nice table excellent service. Celebrating 49th Anniversary and were treated to a tasting glass of champagne. Appetizer, salad, fabulous steak and a nice side. We couldn't ask for anything more.

This was our second time at Bowdies Chophouse, the first experience last Christmas season was amazing so we chose to bring an out of town family member here instead of a popular chophouse chain downtown. Overall we had a nice evening but the steaks were not as good as remembered? Tasty but summertime grilling tasted much better, the last experience they were phenomenal! For the price and cost you pay for fine dining it was nothing spectacular sadly. The drinks were too strong and disappointing. We sat on the lounge side this visit and the noise level was moderate. We did enjoy our server and the staff helping that evening. They were friendly and attentive. The potato au gratin was my favorite part! And the Rat Pack music playing in the background. Not sure we will be back, eating out in todays world especially with the prices of everything, fine dining should make you feel good about the money you spend for the food and experience and this time just didn’t live up to that.

The service was excellent and the ambiance/atmosphere was very nice. However, I must say the steak was disappointing. It wasn't bad, mind you. But it was very average at any price. For the cost, I was expecting a lot more. The sides were delicious. I highly recommend the au gratin potatoes! Fantastic! And the creme brulee for dessert was an excellent finish. But honestly, I've had better steaks off my grill from the local chain grocery store.

Wen back for another splendid meal at Bowdies. I had the crab cake again. Then I waited almost an hour to get my surf & turf because the bartender was busy talking with some distillers. Other than that the experience was on point.

What a pleasant surprise. I was looking for a nice steakhouse and found this location while traveling to Grand Rapids. Food was great and the NY Strip I had was one I would compare to some of the best steaks I’ve had.

Working in the G.R. area again & had to have Bowdies! Sat at the bar & was very well taken care off. I had the fish special, which was swordfish & it was out standing! As were the au gratin potatoes. Took cheese cake back to the Airbnb & loved it! I'm going back for seconds.

Extremely disappointing. We have always loved coming here but this night things were just plain terrible. The service was horrible and there were so many issues with our meal I won’t even go there. We’ve always given Bowdies rave reviews but not this time. Just last week things were wonderful. Tonight bad does not begin to describe it. Will we be back? I honestly don’t know. Sad

Delightful lobster mac and cheese as well as the Filet don perfectly. Portions were good size and not oversized. Drinks were good and they had my Scotch. Server took very good are of us, our reservation was ready when we arrived. only minor thing was the bread offering, not quite as nice as we expected from Bowdies standards but at least there was bread. Seems many restaurants are cutting out the bread even those charging $$$ & $$$$ entree's. WE dine out quite often and do enjoy the different types and styles of bread but to our dismay, many have quit or added the bread as an appetizer for a charge.
