    Delightful lobster mac and cheese as well as the Filet don perfectly. Portions were good size and not oversized. Drinks were good and they had my Scotch. Server took very good are of us, our reservation was ready when we arrived. only minor thing was the bread offering, not quite as nice as we expected from Bowdies standards but at least there was bread. Seems many restaurants are cutting out the bread even those charging $$$ & $$$$ entree's. WE dine out quite often and do enjoy the different types and styles of bread but to our dismay, many have quit or added the bread as an appetizer for a charge.

    I prefer Ruth's Chris. Decided to try something new for our anniversary and after reading reviews, had high hopes. The waiter mentioned the steaks were heavily salted and buttered. Didn't taste much of either and that was evident when the waiter asked if we wanted salt and pepper before we even took a bite. We ordered the ribeye to share since it was 26 oz. Other reviews mentioned that the waiters carved it at the table, but it was delivered on one plate with a knife and another plate for myself. As they advertise, the plates are 400 degrees. As soon as my husband put my share on my plate, it cooked it from medium to well done. Not my preference. Overall, the steak had no flavor. We also ordered the grilled Caesar to share. The waiter mentioned it would come out as a wedge and he would cut it at the table. We received 2 plates of chopped romained that had no signs of being grilled. it was tasty, but not what I expected. The brussell sprouts were good but when asked if they were crispy before ordering, the waiter said absolutely. They were not. In addition, the waiter didn't deliver any of the food items and the staff that did were not aware of any of our shared preferences that the waiter said would happen (ex. he would cut the wedge salad at the table.) As for the drinks, I was happy with the pour sizes of the wine, but DH ordered an old fashioned and it just tasted like straight whiskey (I tried it).

    Service was excellent! I generally order my steak slightly more well done than normal as Bowdies usually cooks on the rarer side. This time the steak was almost too done, so may need to alter my ordering strategy. All else was great though!

    I was working out of town & wanted a decent meal, so I tried Bowdies. Man am I glad I did. Lisa was my server & she was very nice & did a good job. I got their version of crab cakes & it was delicious! The only down side was it took over 40 minutes to get my main course. They were very busy though so I understand. When my Surf & turf showed up it was well worth the wait! The lobster tail was perfect, as was the filet. I had mushrooms & scallops potatoes as side & both were outstanding & large enough for 3 adults. I did not care for the peanut butter & chocolate cake.. I will return when back in Grand Rapids!

    We have eaten at Bowdies a number of times so we know what to expect. The Steak was very good . (In fact, it was a 5+) The wine list was solid and fair. The sides were OK. My only complaint is that a high end restaurant should not be serving fries that are not homemade. Frozen fries for $10+ are silly. Even if you have rolled them in truffle oil. Perhaps, I'm being unfair. However, little things matter when you are dropping $100+ per person.

    The moment we arrived for our dinner reservation to celebrate our first married date with one another, we were treated as if we were the only ones. The attention to detail, the exquisite meal, wine and the deserts were off the chart. Our waiter Jake was extremely attentive to our needs while dining Highly recommened!

    A truly five-star experience awaited my wife and I at Bowdies Chophouse. From the moment we arrived, the attentive and knowledgeable staff guided us through a culinary journey, elevating the entire dining experience. The filet mignon, tender and succulent, literally melted in our mouths, promising and delivering perfection with every bite. A standout dish, the Lobster Macaroni and Cheese, set a new bar, being simply the best we have ever tasted. Equally impressive was the salmon, a symphony of flawlessly balanced flavors that danced harmoniously on our palates, leaving a lingering taste of sheer perfection. This gastronomic adventure was a celebration of refined culinary artistry, leaving us eager to return. A magnificent experience that we highly recommend.

    Our meal was delicious from start to end! Our meal included: Drinks - The Bees Knees and an Old Fashion Apps - Bread and Crabcakes (theirs is deconstructed so mostly crab meat and delicious!) Dinner - Kansas Cut Steaks (I got mine with blue cheese crumbles) with the family style vegetable and Au gratin potato’s! Desert - Vanilla Crème Brûlée and Vanilla Ice-cream

    This was our first time at Bowdies. It was our wedding anniversary and we brought our 5 year old son, who loved the comfy booth. The food, service, and overall experience was absolutely top notch. Best steaks we ever ate. Dessert was amazing. The only thing I noticed it was a little noisy inside the dining area. Being an audio engineer, I think some bigger, better acoustic panels could go a long ways. We will be back. Shout out to Joshua our server. Thanks for everything.

    Dining at Bowdies was a fantastic experience. All food was prepared as advertised and requested, and the servings were great for the price. Despite the number of folks it was generally easy to converse. The staff was even dealing with a lighting situation and performed admirably under the added pressure. They were courteous, knowledgeable and only added to the overall enjoyment of the evening. Thank you all for a fantastic anniversary dinner.

    The food was amazing. Our waitress was pleasant and friendly. Service was outstanding. When we first arrived it was pretty quiet but as more diners came in it did get a bit loud. Obviously nothing the restaurant could do to control this. We would highly recommend this place.

    It was our 33 year Anniversary and we were told try Bowdie’s Chophouse if you want to experience a unforgettable dinner. Our server name was Manny-“Amanuel” he is very knowledgeable, kind, caring and wanted to meet all of our needs! Hopefully if you visit you will get to experience Manny’s professional skills. All of the servers seemed very kind and caring. The food was ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS!! The tomahawk steak for 2 was very tender, the flavor was out of this word! The bread and butter they serve is soft but crunchy and tasted like mom’s homemade bread. We had Brussels and Belly this melts in your mouth good!! Button mushrooms for our shareable sides and they were ok. My husband had the Cliffhanger and I had a glass of D’ASTI, both were very good. It is a little pricey but you get what you pay for. We will definitely be back to Bowdies in Grand Rapids! Thank you for letting us enjoy your restaurant on our special day! Oh and thank you for the carrot cake it was scrumptious!

    I found this restaurant online and the lowest rating was 4.5 stars so we gave it a shot. It is now our favorite steak house!! The service was 5 star, Adam, our server, was great! We split a wedge salad, the best bleu cheese I have ever had! We then split a filet, it was served whole so we could cut it ourselves and served on ripping hot plate with melted butter and some herbs. They gave us a second plate, same butter and heat so we both had the warm plate and butter. We were too full to get a dessert:) Our waiter told us that in spite of it being a steak place all of the food is delicious. I believe it!! We will go back❤️

    My husband and I dined here for our anniversary. We had Dennis as our server and he was great. Attentive but let us take our time. He even started us out with two glasses of champ on the house to toast! (I’m sure they do this for everyone but it was still a great touch). We started with the beef tartare and bone marrow. Loved both but will come back for the bone marrow. The staff boxed the bone up for our dog. Then we shared the wedge salad, bone-in filet, mushrooms, lobster tail and truffle fries. Amazing. Definitely our favorite chophouse in Grand Rapids. Service and food is always consistent. Ken makes a mean drink (or Mocktail) at the bar. The whole staff cares and multiple people touch the table. Wine list doesn’t suck either. Heather, the somm, is a great time if you’re lucky enough to have her as your server. 100% recommend.

    Typically we love dining here but our last experience was a disappointment. Our server was average at best…not real attentive. Our steaks were well under-cooked. Our Caesar salad was bad…dressing was loaded with garlic and anchovy flavor…so much so that we couldn’t eat it. The server did take the cost off our bill for this, which was kind. Overall, it wasn’t what we typically plan on experiencing at this type of restaurant. It will be agile until we come back.
