Nice dinner out with my wife in a nice area of East Grand Rapids. Safe entrance, but busy even with spacing. Great steak and salad, and huge sides. Good drinks also. Overall, great steakhouse!!!
Incredible food and service as always. Our drinks were even extra special.
Service was amazing and the food was delicious. A tad loud but not too bad.
Steak cooked to perfection! A must if you are ever in East Grand Rapids!
Bowdies in Gaslight Village has a fun, but old school vibe. The food, service and cocktails are outstanding!
It is without doubt my favorite restaurant for a fine meal, rather in Saugatuck or East Grand Rapids. I have never been disappointed in the food or service.
While expensive... it’s well worth the price for special occasions... our server was amazing, tables well spaced and food fabulous!!!
Yumm! Everything was delicious.
Love, love, love dinners here. The filet is AMAZING.
We regularly dine at Bowdie's Chophouse in Lansing, have dined previously at the Saugatuck location, and decided to travel over an hour to Grand Rapids to have dinner at the newest location.
The hostess (who was dressed like a granola farmer) did not want to seat us at our reservation time (we arrived early and checked-in well before our reservation time) because she said that she was waiting on the reservation before us that was already running 15 minutes late. We were finally sat at a booth, about 20 minutes later a couple rolled in, looked at us and our table like we took it and talked to the hostess and our waiter for a long time. Being that our waiter was more preoccupied with chatting with the other table, our service was slow and lackluster and felt unwelcoming.
The filets and sides we ordered were the typical good presentation and high quality that is standard of Bowdie's Chophouse. The Grand Rapids location is more luxe and cohesively designed then the other two locations.
We had a fantastic dinner! In my opinion the best steak house in Grand Rapids!
A little bit too loud and too dark where we were at.
Great good. Ambience was average.
Made a reservation and had to wait to be seated, sat for about 20 minutes and had to ask if we could order drinks. Then had to ask if we could order food. Waited about an hour or more for food to arrive. Every time our drinks were empty we had to hunt the server down and ask for more. The food was EXCELLENT just could work on the service
Not so hot Bowdies. Group of 12, reserved weeks in advance, for my birthday… No one ever notified me (despite the nastiness I received from the hostess stand asking about this upon arrival) that a group of 12 couldn’t be sat together.
Surprise! I arrive with my party and I am being told we have two tables. That alone would have made me consider the number of people I invited if it truly is a state requirement.
Having to get up and go between two groups was not at all what I wanted for a high end dining experience.
Our dinner took more than FOUR hours from start to finish. Also highly unacceptable. It was nearly 3 hours before anyone even saw an appetizer at our table, what is going on? Some food made incorrectly, some of which at sub-par standard. Sides and truffle french fries were all amazing. But for a steakhouse I feel like this could have been a much better dining experience. End it with there was difficulty in splitting our bills and my husband ended up picking up a $1200 check to pay for everyone: 1. For the bad experience 2. that no one had any tolerance to stay any longer and figure out the bill.
Highlight: Our waiter Walter, was new, yet very kind, honest, and accommodating.
The best steak house in Grand Rapids. Amazing food, huge portions, and great ambiance. Perfect for celebrating a special occasion.
All Good ! Pricey but worth every penny. Very enjoyable evening.
The drinks were fantastic, steak was perfect, the brussels and belly put it over the top!
My wife is working on a project in Muskegon, MI and I was visiting her from Wisconsin over the Labor Day weekend. We were looking for a place to celebrate my birthday. We found Bowdies which is an is an old school style steakhouse. The ambiance with the music & decor is comforting. The Cowboy Ribeye steaks were outstanding along with our sides
of Button Mushrooms, Seasonal Vegetables & Au Gratin Potatoes.
I Highly recommend Bowdies.
My only negative is they are located in Michigan and I live in Wisconsin.
P.S. My wife loved their Manhattan.
For all the hype, it was disappointing. Over priced, tiny menu-aka no selection.
Our waiter was attentive, friendly, and overall great.
The food portions were generous. However, our first course, soup, was served cold. They took care of that right away and it was great when it came back out.
Of the three entrées our group had, two (a fish special and the cowboy ribeye) were great. The filet they served was cold yet in the middle even though it was ordered “medium.
Again, good sized portions, but even if the food had been served at the correct temps, there was nothing special about it or the experience to justify the prices.
Just not at the level with that price point. Better value downtown.
This Was a delicious and surprising food experience with A variety of dish options. The brussels sprouts were so so good.
Also the cowboy ribeye. Holy crap flavorful. Thank you for the meal 🙏🏻
Great service from Adam!
Amazing seafood tower! Such a great place to celebrate my birthday!
I give 5-stars to Bowdie’s - for both the service and the food.
I would consider this a special occasion place, very mice. Great staff and great food Highly recommend
Bowdies blew us away from the menu to the service! Simple menu with amazing food. The server was the best of the best, knowledgeable, nice, and great sense of humor.
Absolutely phenomenal dinner with exceptional service! Perfect celebration of our anniversary! Bowdies is a great addition to Grand Rapids!
Service was outstanding. Very attentive but respectful on giving us time to enjoy the moment. Food was superb. Will definitely be going back again
Excellent food. Relaxed ambiance. Great and helpful service.
Umazing... Bowdie’s never disappoints!!
Great location right on the corner in downtown EGR, and upheld its reputation for a great night out. Definitely a Chophouse vibe, but not the stuffy type. Bowdies had a more energetic casual flow to it. Both the Cocktail, and wine list were creative and thorough. The food was still the highlight! Hands down the best bone in filet I’ve ever had, and the small seafood tower has nothing small about it, and was fresh and delicious. Service was friendly, & attentive from the hosts to the server, and buss team. We can’t wait to come back!
Our dinner was absolutely amazing. Our service at the bar and at our tables was perfect. We started with cocktails and then shared a fantastic Bordeaux which was just delightful. The goat cheese appetizer was so creamy and delicious. Our filets melted in our mouths and the seasonal veggies were so flavorful and delicious. We will absolutely be back very soon.
We absolutely loved everything about Bowdie's from the moment we sat down to the moment we left. Ambiance is cozy yet classy. They had a full house but it was still quiet. Service was absolutely terrific (thank you Adam). Amazing drink selection from the bar, one of the best bourbon I've had! The food was excellent and that's an understatement. We all ordered the filet mignon which was cooked the perfection! We got the seasonal veggies and potato au gratin. Highly recommend! Will be back very soon.
We where there for a b day we are going back I. Two weeks for our anniversary. Bowdies is fantastic my new fav GR restaurant. Awesome stafff fantastic food a great time!!! Love love love it Jon
Bowdies is a hidden gem in Grand Rapids. I dine with clients often and every time I bring them to Bowdies they rave about the top notch food, cocktails and service!
Great food in a cute part of GR... The steaks were out of this world. Love the Lamole De Lamole Chianti with dinner.
We love Bowdies! Usually go to the Saugatuck location but decided to try location in EGR. Delicious per usual and amazing location! Will remain our top choice of restaurants for date night!
