Loved the vibe, food and service! Fantastic date night.
The food was amazing. Best we’ve had there and all previous experiences have been good. Met the owner who shared his knowledge and passion about bourbon. Thoroughly enjoyed the evening.
Took my boyfriend here for his birthday. Both first time here. We loved everything from the food to the atmosphere. Our waitress Courtney was amazing ! She definitely made my boyfriends birthday perfect.
Great food and friendly-attentive service
Great menu, atmosphere and drinks!! Always a quiet place to catch up with friends and have a nice double date!
our waitress (server) Courtney was absolutely fabulous
Everything from start to finish was great. We will be back.
The flavors were quite good but overall the food was so so.
The cheese dish appetizer was to die for while the calamari was bland and nothing at all special. My
Entrees we're also hit or miss.
The burger was way over priced at $17. For that price I expected a great burger. This wasn't. Not any better flavor than Red Robin. First attempt at rare was as black as a hockey puck. Second try was cooked properly with a burned black bun. Server said their buns we're supposed to be crispy. The recook took almost as long as the first. Mean while the other 2 dinners we're finished before the recook came out of the kitchen. In the restaurant defense the burger was taken off the bill. Would have been nice to know that and not find out when the check was presented.
Pork chop was excellent!!!
Beef short ribs were also very good. Fell off the bone. Overall the flavor was good but more than a little too salty.
Service was a little slow. Seemed like the recooked burger was not given priority in the kitchen. A recook of a rare burger should have been out way quick. Soon time on a burger is only about 2 minutes per side. A burned bun should only take less than 4 minutes.
Finally value. The same group went to Vinchenzos a week before. Service was perfect. Food quality was unbelievable good. Finally the price for the group was only about $2 per person higher than Bourbon Bistro for a much better overall experience
Great food but two very noisy birthday parties right on the middle of the couples trying to have date night was a big disapointment.
First time here. Likely to return. Great food and staff.
The mussels as an appetizer are a must! I had the short rib with grits. The grits were amazing and the short rib was cooked too perfection but could have had more flavor. I’ve been here several times and this meal was the least impressive, but it was still quite good. I would highly recommend this restaurant.
Good food. Wait staff (not our server) attempted to take my salad plate without asking if I was finished...a little off-putting. Filet Mignon meal was delicious! Ambiance is nice, but needs to be just a tad less dark. It was challenging to read the menu with limited light. I would return for another occasion.
An amazing dining experience. Also, who doesn't love bourbon with dinner?
Amazing spot! Will definitely be back! Great food, highly reccoment the pork chop!
Valentine’s Dinner and they didn’t disappoint. Excellent bourbon and wine selection. Wonderful food and atmosphere.
We love eating here. The only complaint I have was that we wanted to order the short ribs but they weren't going to be ready for a few hours. We ended up with Shrimp and Grits and it was a good meal just heavier than what we initially wanted. Service was awesome!
Fantastic, food was as good as it gets. We both had bone in pork chop and I see no reason to get anything else next time. However, I have always enjoyed the steak here too.
The young lady who served us was really on the ball.
BTW, we did share the goat cheese flatbread appetizer. Although it was good,I don’t see anything passing the pork chop served with sweet potato mash and asparagus.
Great food, service, and superb bourbon. Highly recommend for that special someone
Wonderful experience, however I did not get my 100 points with "Open Table" so someone dropped the ball of not checking me in when i arrived.
Amazing food and service. The duck and pork chop was absolutely delicious.
The food was excellent. The service was fast, friendly and very helpful. It was a very pleasant meal.
Seated promptly, great menu with a special that was delightful, as you would expect a great bourbon selection, waitress was friendly and attentive, chef visited dining room to include our table. We look forward to returning soon.
Wonderful dinner and our server, Courtney, was fabulous!!
All 7 of us (ages 12 to 83) had a wonderful time. Everyone LOVED the food, our server was superb and the atmosphere was warm and classy. We will be back for sure.
Took the wife out for her birthday and was looking for something we haven't tried. This exceeded our expectations! The ambiance was great, the food was fabulous and the drinks were crafty and amazing. The Bourbon Cobbler was by far my favorite cocktail.
The food was prepared amazing and the taste was off the charts.
I would highly recommend giving this gem a try.
Our first time there, probably last. Unfortunately didn't live up to expectations. Burger was good, though still expensive. Could've used more or additional sauce to keep moist. The fries were fantastic, best thing we had there.
My wife ordered calimari and a side of asparagus. The calimari was overcooked and chewy, she could only eat a few bites. Waitress never asked why most of it was left or if there wad a problem with it. Asparagus side was 3 pieces. For $5 that's a little silly, should provide more. But tasted good.
Overall not inclined to return, think my money and date night would be better suited elsewhere.
It was our first time dining here and was fabulous! We can’t wait to come back with friends!
It was a girls night before show. Lots of top shelf choices for Bourbon of course and cocktails. Don’t be afraid to ask for suggestions for your meal. We shared the duck and pork chops between us. Instead of the Brussel Sprouts we substituted the cheese grits. Each meat was prepared to exact temp and juicy! We couldn’t choose on the dessert so we got all three bourbon bread pudding, salted caramel cheesecake and we thought the raspberry white chocolate was the best—we surely didn’t need all of it as they were huge portions.
If you are a Bourbon lover it’s a gem! If you aren’t you will very much enjoy its classy, cozy atmosphere and delicious food. parking is a challenge on a Friday and Saturday night so plan ahead.
Great food, great service. Nice atmosphere. Would definitely recommend
It was OK. The service and environment was great. Nice bar list but the food was just so-so. Appetizers were good but I had the sweet potato gnocchi which was on the dry side. 2 of my friends has the burger and said to have had stomach issues all night.
Wonderful dinner with excellent service. We were there early on a Wednesday night. Have been on busier evenings and service was still good.
We are new to Louisville, and this was out first visit, to celebrate a birthday. Food and service were wonderful. Bourbon was good, with a couple of hard to find mentioned by your friendly, professional server. We will definitely go back soon.
Great experience at Bourbons Bistro. Food is amazing and the staff is exceptional. Will definitely be back.
My wife and I went to Bourbons Bistro on a date and absolutely loved the place. The food was delicious! I started with the fried oyster app. The oysters were ample sized and had a creamy, melt in your mouth texture. The outside was seasoned just right. My wife enjoyed her salad. For entrees I went with the duck breast. It was perfect. Not greasy or oily at all. Great flavor. A perfect red/pink inside. It came with a side of brussels sprouts. These were also delicious. I am not a huge brussels fan, but loved these. Not sure how the chef did it using only butter, salt and pepper, but whatever voodoo was used was magical. They were so good it caused my wife to get a side of them in addition to her entree. My wife got the pork chop. I'm always skeptical of pork chops. Sometimes certain parts are really tender and juicy but the majority of the cut is lean and a bit dry. Not this pork chop. My wife reported that every bite was just as good as the first. The bite I tried was so tender and flavorful that the next time we return I may have to get it. It was seasoned perfectly, with the center again being a perfect pink. It came with a side of asparagus that my wife reported as being very tasty. Of course one would expect a great bourbon list. I was impressed by the number and quality of selections. They have the requisite Pappy, but also some other high end quality bourbons. I opted for the MUCH cheaper but still excellent value Rebel Yell 10 year. It's a little difficult to come by, so I wanted to try a pour. This is a great place to try something before you buy a bottle. Our service was very attentive without being intrusive. We were very well taken care of. The chef also came to check with our satisfaction, which I thought was a nice touch. We were happy to inform him that we thought everything tasted amazing and that we would be back again. We highly recommend this place!
Stopped by for a dinner date with my wife and we had an excellent experience! It was a low key atmosphere which we loved and the food was amazing! By the way, probably the best bread pudding we've ever had. ..we would heavily recommend it!
Great food. Great service. Always good. Will go back again.
First time at this restaurant and can say I will definately be back. Food was great, especially for the price. Only complaint is it is very loud in there. You can see noise reduction material on ceiling so they realize it also. Over, very good place.
Wonderful and inviting staff. Very attentive to everyone’s dietary needs . Wonderful selection of bourbon and bartender was outstanding and educational. Best shrimp and grits !
Delicious! I had the filet cooked medium. You could cut with a butter knife! Also the prosciutto wrapped asparagus and fingering potatoes, both cooked to perfection. My husband had the pork chop, which he said was great. Even on a super busy night of the year, service was great and food was done to perfection!
New Year’s Eve. It took 25 minutes from the time we were seated to get a bourbon (straight up) at Bourbons Bistro. It wasn’t crowded. The food was good but not amazing. Portions are moderate. Nothing really stood out other than being ignored after being seated and then the longish wait for our drinks. Would consider trying again, perhaps better on a non holiday evening.
