Amazingly wonderful food and ambiance! The shrimp and grits and steak frite was delicious. Beat whiskey sour in town!
I will definitely return.
Celebrating my daughter’s graduation from med school. We loved the restaurant and easily would want to come back. The menu is fabulous. Nice bar as well.
It was a Mother’s Day outing and we had a wonderful time. The food was delicious and the service was great. We will be back! The
Our overall experience with Bourbons Bistro was so-so. It was a combination son’s birthday and Mother’s Day dinner. While not busy for our Saturday 6:15 reservation, it was full and busy by the time we left the restaurant. We had the Charcuterie Board which was okay, but not worth the $20 price. This was two cheeses and two meats with 5 pickled grapes and a few pieces of bread. Other places will provide a jam, marmalade or honey along with olives, nuts and such. I was underwhelmed. (Edit - Pepperoncini and slices of an almond cookie were included.) Our entrees were fine. Two orders of Steak Frites that were tasty ($33 ea). Both came out medium rare although my wife wanted medium. She was okay with how it was and didn’t make an issue. Son had the Bourbons Chop and it was tasty per his comment ($26). For a restaurant called Bourbons Bistro, her Old Fashion was too sweet. My wife enjoyed her first (too sweet for me), but left 80% of her second due to it being much sweeter. Son and I had bourbon on the rocks which were fine. Unfortunately, the service was very slow even before the traffic picked up. The drinks were very slow to come out at the front and end of the meal. Our waitress was either not attentive to picking up from the bar or was otherwise occupied. It has been a few years since I last visited this restaurant. The prices seemed to be more like Chicago, but without the service. I tipped 20% anyway. Check was $192 and I left a $38 tip for $230 total for a party of three. Disappointing experience for a Louisville restaurant at that price point. I hope they get their staffing corrected now that we are coming out of the Covid period. Bourbons Bistro has been around for a while, and I wish them to continue doing well. (Edit - I was contacted by the restaurant. I do wish them the best and will give them another try at some point. I am sure others have a wonderful experience here. Changing my rating to 'would recommend' as I know they can do better.)
4 of us were coming from the track & we were only able to get an outside table but it was right by a heater, so the rainy, cool weather didn’t bother us. We had fried oysters for appetizer & then I had salad with salmon added which was delicious. My husband got steak frites & enjoyed that as well. The other couple shared the salmon dinner & liked theirs too. We had 2 bottles of wine too. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed our evening! I think we were lucky to get a table. Looks like things are picking back up finally!
The service was great and it has a fun, comfortable vibe. We enjoyed interesting cocktails and the food was amazing. We enjoyed the mussels, shrimp and grits, the pork chop and bourbon bread pudding. Absolutely delicious! We’ll be back!
Very pleasant weekday outdoor dining experience.
The food and drinks were delicious. Our server was friendly and helpful but not overbearing. We at outside and it was quiet, romantic, and a perfect date spot. Will definitely be going back!
Delicious and interesting cocktails. Fantastic entrees. Warm setting. Attentive service.
We bring our Derby guests here every year! Always a great evening with good food.
Great meal. The service was slow but it was derby weekend which I’m sure had an impact!
We had a great time, the bourbon selection was the best I have seen. the food was wonderful and the service was very good.
One of the best meals I've ever had. I chose the shrimp and grits, which I have never had before. Amazing. The Chef even came out and shared his delicious recipe with us and some delightful bourbon, which we promptly purchased. The hubby had the porkchop - sooooo juicy and delicious. Just a wonderful experience and we were happy to get a table on a Saturday night. We will definitely be back when we are in Louisville. I'm still dreaming about my meal.
This was the absolute BEST experience and my first experience dining at Bourbons Bistro! Our server Ren was a jewlel! So sweet, so patient and friendly! The food was amazing! From appetizer to dessert! This experience was for ladies night with friends!! I can’t wait to go back with my husband!!!
Great place, food and folks. Definitely the place to go.
Food, bourbon selection and service were fantastic as I have always received here. Sat out by fireplace before dinner having a cigar and bourbon was special. The facility itself is getting long in the tooth and needs an update but that still doesn't take away from all the positives I mentioned.
The food was very good, especially the appetizer menu. The service was a little slow.
Awesome first time there... won’t be the last!!!
Nice pour list and a decent enough slimmed down menu. Atmosphere is nice like a more fine dining experience.
The problem is the bartender. A black guy that runs the bar is super rude. The guy does not understand hospitality. Remove him with a better bartender that has more knowledge of bourbon and this place will be the better for it.
Expected better quality food considering reviews- service was pleasant.
We are are frequent visitors to BB, which of course means we really like it. Food, service and drinks are top notch. We appreciate the friendly staff, and owner Jason who is there frequently making sure everything is going well. Favorites include the fried oysters and maple glazed wings appetizers, the salads with salmon or other toppings, the steak frites, shrimp and grits, pork chop, salmon entree and the burger. BB provides a consistently great experience whether it's a full dinner or drinks and appetizers. Highly recommend!
Great food (had the mussels to start and pork chop and mushroom pasta with salmon for our entrees) and great service. We sat out on the covered patio and it was lovely. Would definitely recommend.
Wonderful food, great service! Loved the feel of the place!
Sat outside on the patio, beautiful evening, food and drinks were all great, as was the service.
love them ! great selection !!
Fantastic staff and service. The food changes seasonally, so there is always something different, but they keep many of the familiar favorites. Of course, the cocktails are fantastic. Just a top notch place that is one of my favorites in Louisville.
Excellent meal! Everything from the cocktails, Spicy Fried Oysters appetizer and the Butterfly porkchop entrée' was wonderful. We will be back soon!
Great night sitting outside, food was excellent and service was fantastic!
We dined with friends at Bourbons
Bistro. This place is great. If you’re a bourbon aficionado, they have it all. When it comes to fine dining the kitchen never disappoints.
We enjoyed the fried oysters and goat cheese dip for appetizers and they were delicious.
Our entree’s consisted of the grilled salmon, mushroom pasta, and the salmon cakes.
All were prepared with skill and tasted magnificent.
We tried one each of the desserts and my favorite was the hot apple tart, though the bread pudding came in a close second.
Our server was bright, kind, and professional.
We really enjoyed our dining experience at BB and will return again, soon.
We absolutely loved this restaurant. The food was amazing! We had the mussels as an appetizer which were delicious. We had the filet and the steak fries which were both great. The drink selection was to die for. It was a perfect place to celebrate and we can't wait to go back.
Nice service expected they might give us a complimentary desert, didn’t happen
The food was AMAZING! Would get the salmon again, and loved the coffee with a twist.
This is a must visit restaurant. I have never been disappointed.
My party of four guests enjoyed our appetizers and entrees very much. Service was quick and attentive, drinks from the bar were delicious as well. Portions were large and generous, and we all four ordered different entrees, everyone was pleased.
Nice place my server really didn’t help us a lot
Bourbon’s always knocks it out of the park.
1st time here and not sure why, but this place just didn’t live up to the hype. The old fashion was ok, the wings were good, the burger could’ve been better. I did taste the mushroom pasta and that was good.
food was wonderful, service was great. Wendy was awesome. Missed going to Bourbon's Bistro,
An outstanding meal. We started with wings as an app. The best we have ever had! Caesar salad was delicious, especially the dressing. For entrees we both had steak. I chose the Steak Frites. Wonderful meal. For dessert, the bread pudding with bourbon sauce. There are no words for the taste, simply amazing. The location is kinda chic revitalized area. One downside was finding parking. So plan to arrive before your reservation to allow time to park. If ever in Louisville again, we will be back!
