The food was very good, especially the appetizer menu. The service was a little slow.
Great food
Nice pour list and a decent enough slimmed down menu. Atmosphere is nice like a more fine dining experience.
The problem is the bartender. A black guy that runs the bar is super rude. The guy does not understand hospitality. Remove him with a better bartender that has more knowledge of bourbon and this place will be the better for it.
Expected better quality food considering reviews- service was pleasant.
We are are frequent visitors to BB, which of course means we really like it. Food, service and drinks are top notch. We appreciate the friendly staff, and owner Jason who is there frequently making sure everything is going well. Favorites include the fried oysters and maple glazed wings appetizers, the salads with salmon or other toppings, the steak frites, shrimp and grits, pork chop, salmon entree and the burger. BB provides a consistently great experience whether it's a full dinner or drinks and appetizers. Highly recommend!
Great food (had the mussels to start and pork chop and mushroom pasta with salmon for our entrees) and great service. We sat out on the covered patio and it was lovely. Would definitely recommend.
Wonderful food, great service! Loved the feel of the place!
Sat outside on the patio, beautiful evening, food and drinks were all great, as was the service.
love them ! great selection !!
Fantastic staff and service. The food changes seasonally, so there is always something different, but they keep many of the familiar favorites. Of course, the cocktails are fantastic. Just a top notch place that is one of my favorites in Louisville.
Excellent meal! Everything from the cocktails, Spicy Fried Oysters appetizer and the Butterfly porkchop entrée' was wonderful. We will be back soon!
Great night sitting outside, food was excellent and service was fantastic!
We dined with friends at Bourbons
Bistro. This place is great. If you’re a bourbon aficionado, they have it all. When it comes to fine dining the kitchen never disappoints.
We enjoyed the fried oysters and goat cheese dip for appetizers and they were delicious.
Our entree’s consisted of the grilled salmon, mushroom pasta, and the salmon cakes.
All were prepared with skill and tasted magnificent.
We tried one each of the desserts and my favorite was the hot apple tart, though the bread pudding came in a close second.
Our server was bright, kind, and professional.
We really enjoyed our dining experience at BB and will return again, soon.
We absolutely loved this restaurant. The food was amazing! We had the mussels as an appetizer which were delicious. We had the filet and the steak fries which were both great. The drink selection was to die for. It was a perfect place to celebrate and we can't wait to go back.
Nice service expected they might give us a complimentary desert, didn’t happen
The food was AMAZING! Would get the salmon again, and loved the coffee with a twist.
This is a must visit restaurant. I have never been disappointed.
My party of four guests enjoyed our appetizers and entrees very much. Service was quick and attentive, drinks from the bar were delicious as well. Portions were large and generous, and we all four ordered different entrees, everyone was pleased.
Nice place my server really didn’t help us a lot
Bourbon’s always knocks it out of the park.
1st time here and not sure why, but this place just didn’t live up to the hype. The old fashion was ok, the wings were good, the burger could’ve been better. I did taste the mushroom pasta and that was good.
food was wonderful, service was great. Wendy was awesome. Missed going to Bourbon's Bistro,
An outstanding meal. We started with wings as an app. The best we have ever had! Caesar salad was delicious, especially the dressing. For entrees we both had steak. I chose the Steak Frites. Wonderful meal. For dessert, the bread pudding with bourbon sauce. There are no words for the taste, simply amazing. The location is kinda chic revitalized area. One downside was finding parking. So plan to arrive before your reservation to allow time to park. If ever in Louisville again, we will be back!
We were visiting Louisville and went to Bourbons Bistro on a recommendation. The food and bourbon drinks were delicious. The chef and manager checked with us during our meal. I would definitely return there on our next visit.
Subservient experience
Food and staff were excellent. Chairs need an upgrade! Cocktail and dessert were great as well.
Excellent restaurant! Fantastic food and experience. Highly recommend.
We went Fri night with another couple and had the best time! Bourbons Bistro never disappoints. The place was full but we could hear our conversation perfectly. Drinks and apps were great, and of course the Caesar salads were perfect with bacon. For dinner we had 2 porkchops, burger, and the Chilean salmon which was absolutely perfect; one of the best I have ever tasted. We chose the bread pudding for dessert and it melted in our mouths. Can't wait to visit again!!
Wonderful. Great food and drinks
Love Bourbons Bistro. Locally owned and operated. As Kentucky's First True Bourbon Bar, you still run into some of the top people in the Bourbon Industry including owner Jason.
Tonight was an exceptional evening catching up with an old friend Cream of Kentucky Master Distiller Jim Rutledge and hearing more about his exciting plans ahead.
With Michael behind the bar you can always count on a delicious bourbon experience and Chef Jereme McFarland all I can say is WOW. Loved tonight's special along with your appetizers that were out of this world!!!
If you enjoy great Bourbon (Great wine list too), food and service, make plans now to enjoy dinner at Bourbons Bistro soon.
This was a great find. While the menu is limited in terms of selection, what we had was really excellent. Ambience is great. Great date night place.
My wife and I are new to Louisville. First time here and we were very pleased. The food was excellent and overall a nice experience. It was nice to see the chef come out to the dining room and speak with their guests. He did not visit our table but it was refreshing to see. Definitely a return visit in the future
Quiet, great food, good for older children.
Very enjoyable. Food and service are very good. Will return.
Valentine’s Day
Valentine’s Day dinner was great! The Chef checked on our table twice and the atmosphere was perfect!
This place never disappoints, always an exceptional selection of food and beverage, and the service is always on point
Great meal. I ordered a flight of bourbon and when the waitress brought to to the table she spilled all three of the glasses. Didn’t lose the entire pour of each one but enough that there was bourbon sitting in the recessed area of the barrel stave it was brought to the table in. Other than that we had a very nice meal and will definitely come back again next time we are in town.
Fantastic dining experience. Our waitress, Megan, was appropriately attentive and knowledgeable. The chef stopped by and made us feel appreciated. We enjoyed the salmon and ruby trout, which were both excellent. The bread pudding offered a great finish to a delicious meal. Highly recommended.
Nice ambiance, great service, awesome food, good bourbon.
First, we had reserved on valentines and the seating was booked for all but the high tops, which was fine with us. When we arrived, we were offered a table, which was a pleasant surprise.
The menu is short, but like all good restaurants serving a short menu, the food on it was exceptional. I had the bourbon pork, and it was superb.
We followed with the bourbon bread pudding which was excellent and the cheesecake, also very good.
The bourbon and wine menu is what you would expect for a place such as this and if you like to peruse, you'll have no problem taking more time than normal to select what you want. I know I did and enjoyed it.
Our waitress was quite nice and stopped in all at the right times. We were greeted when we entered and again when we were leaving. Staff makes you feel special and for the pricetag I suppose it's expected. That said, it was well worth it and we will most definitely be back. One of the better bourbon restaurants I've been to.
Highly recommend.
