Bourbon Street Bar & Grill Ratings and Reviews
This is the second time we have eaten here on our visit to New York City. The ambience is terrific and the Christmas Decorations are beautiful. The wait staff are all so nice and we very much enjoyed our food. The portions are huge and everything we have ever eaten was delicious.
This is basically a large party space. All the tables are high-top (not a low table in sight - at least not on the first floor.) There are at least 2 floors of dining space, and 2 bars just on the first floor. While the food is Cajun influenced, it's pretty much bar food. If I were throwing a party this would be the place. For a pre-theatre dinner, it met the requirement of being quick, but I wouldn't bother to go back. I had the gumbo, which was hearty and flavorful, but nothing novel. My husband had the catfish sliders and his comment was "they were ok." Great service, however.
We ordered calamari, shrimp poboys, mini cheeseburger sliders & Cajun jambalaya. The appetizer came out hot & quickly. The cornmeal coating was pretty good & could have used a little more kick in seasoning. The bread for the poboys was soft & tasty. The decor was festive & the service was excellent. Also the bathrooms were clean.
I went here on 11/18/17 for my birthday. Overall, I was very satisfied. I made the reservation two days earlier and called to inform that I was running late. When I arrived they were already clearing off our table and did not take long to set for us. I like that they have an unending happy hour, where the drinks were very affordable, as low as $5(I tried the swamp water and hurricane drinks, very good!!!). I had a really good and attentive host. I will definitely come back her again.
I️ went there for my birthday celebration & what a great way to celebrate with my friends. We choose a bunch of appetizers & main courses for all of us to share. Each item was delicious!! Our waiter was awesome too always filling our drinks & was so personable too. The place was crowded but not that noisy so we can hear each other talk. I️ would go back again soon!!!
I've been here numerous times and I have never been disappointed. I'll get over the menu cancellation of the alligator sausage appetizer :-(. Great food and great service. We also love the way they decorate for the various holidays. We will always come back!!!
Started with the nachos and mozzarella sticks. Mozzarella tasted like they were frozen rather than fresh, though not too bad. Nachos we're ok, though the chili was a little sweet for my liking.
Shared the ribs for main, which was pretty small and uninspiring.
The service was very good. Would come again to watch sports. Probably not to eat.
Great place to eat. A little bummed they were out of alligator, but it happens. We had the spinach artichoke dip instead and it was amazing. I ate too much though and couldn't finish my dinner (Cajun alfredo), which was also great! Husband had a pulled pork sandwich and loved it as well. Drinks were a little pricey, but we're just visiting NYC, so we weren't too worried.
The food was really incredible. Spicy, full of flavor- just what you'd want for New Orleans style food. The place itself is very loud- but we were able to get a seat outside on the upper patio- luckily was warm out! Def ask for this if you want a bit more privacy- and hear each other talk!
My husband and I attended a play and went to the restaurant afterwards. I truly felt a New Orleans vibe. The food and drinks were great. The highlight of the meal for me was dessert, we ordered the beignets and they were delicious. We will definitely return to this restaurant.
