Dickie Brennan and his culinary team have created an incredible menu of classic New Orleans dishes complemented by new favorites. Signature favorites include Gulf fish on the Halfshell and New Orleans style Barbeque Shrimp.
Bourbon is a central focus at the bar with 200 bourbons on the list. Bourbon House is the perfect place for a specialty cocktail or a straight pour of that hard to find small batch whiskey.
Wonderful food and service!! The crab fingers were amazing!
On time. Excellent service, food was superior. Wide selection of drinks. We we not rushed and truly enjoyed the dining experience. Will visit again when we are in New Orleans.
Everything was delicious. The Brussels sprouts divine!!! I would drive from home (45 mins) just to get the appetizer. My filet melted in my mouth. I can’t say enough good! My dessert, creme brûlée was yum! I wanted more. Lol. Love bourbon house.
Food was just Ok. Bourbon Milk Punch was the highlight of my dinner. Make sure to order one. It won’t disappoint .
good value for the money. Seafood was good and drinks well made. Service was right on
The Food & Service was amazing and Of course the Bourbon Milk Shakes were like a treat from Heaven.
The staff was attentive and the food as great as it’s been in previous dining’s!
Loved it! My only complaint would be that they sat us at a table that was way too close to the table next to us. But the food was great! The redfish was cooked to perfection and the BBQ shrimp was delicious (tip: request the BBQ without the heads on them. makes it much cleaner.)
I love this place, the vibe is total Nawlins and the food is spectacular! Be sure to try the freshly baked bread at the table, their gumbo is delightful, and their sausage trio is delicious!
We had an early reservation because we wanted to hit some clubs on Frenchman St after dining. Restaurant was nearly empty when we arrived but filled up quickly. Service was attentive throughout our entire meal even when they had other tables to tend to. Food was fabulous. Hubby had oysters which he enjoyed. I don't eat them so I had a great spinach salad. We split an entree ( the red fish) to save room for bread pudding. Yum to both! We did not have a bottle of wine but did both have drinks. My husband is from Kentucky and appreciated the large selection of bourbon. When the bill came he said, " Well that was reasonable" something he rarely says. This was the second time we've been there so I can now officially say this is our favorite restaurant in the French Quarter.
We have been going to The Bourbon house for about 4 years. Our last visit was by far the best in a LONG time!! They brought back their famous Bourbon BBQ shrimp as an entree and added the Bourbon milk punch and cookies dessert!!! Fantastic.
We love their crab bordelaise! Taylor and Ashley took great care of us. It’s a little noisy especially when there are large groups there. But it’s a fun vibrant noise of people eating and having a good time together. The food and service are excellent. You have to try a frozen bourbon milk punch for dessert!
Chose this spot to surprise my husband since he's a whiskey buff and he took me to NOLA for my 40th bday, I figured it would be a great place for him to get to enjoy what he loves after several days of "me" 🙂 but wasn't really wowed by the food or service especially for the money spent. The food was good but overpriced for what it was and I think I could've gotten something just as tasty for much less money elsewhere. The service was mediocre. The food server didn't come back to the table once she took the order. When the drink server's suggestion was the most expensive flight and my husband was very specific about what he likes in his whiskey, it seemed like she wasn't really an expert on the whiskey list.
We visited this place twice and had the same server, Monique. She was very friendly and courteous. She made sure that we didn't need anything.
Great food and rather elegant atmosphere.
Service? Not too good. You pay the price tag of a top end service, but you never receive it. Waiters don’t smile or engage with you, don’t know how to open a bottle of wine cost $60, many staff around but you don’t feel any of them actually looking after you and your company, you end up pouring the wine for yourself.
Our server, Monique was very nice and friendly. We returned today, 1/28, and asked for her to be our server again.
Very professional wait staff. Pasta was a bit rich, but over all a good choice.
The food was good. We particularly enjoyed the char-broiled oysters. They also do a nice milk punch.
Lovely place with great food and great service! I HAVE to eat here anytime I come to NOLA. Love the Crab Finger Bordeleise!!!
The food was only okay, super salty. Our waitress seemed exhausted and not pumped to be there. She didn’t once smile. We weren’t greeted at all. She was polite, but not friendly.
I the past I usually recommend the Bourbon House Seafood to friends but I would say that this recent trip I was somewhat disappointed.
A reservation mistake on my part was quickly remedied by the reception staff. Hannah brought great bourbon and Josh served great meals both with a high level of professionalism. Would not hesitate to come again.
Food was delicious as usual. Service at lunch was not as good as it used to be. Prices are a bit high but to be expected for a Brennan's Restaurant. I would suggest go for dinner not for lunch. It took us 2.5 hours to eat lunch. It should have been not more than 1.5 hours. It's lunch for goodness sakes.
The best thing about the Bourbon House is their menu. I’m a native New Orleanian and everything was authentic.... from the gumbo to the Bbq shrimp! DELICIOUS! Our servers Tom and Hannah were great. They did a great job of keeping our table clean and prepared for every course with out being smothering! We will definitely come back. I do feel that they could update the interior a bit with some new paint on the walls and recushioned booths. A small live jazz band would have been perfect.
My group really enjoyed dinner. I can recommend their Redfish in confidence.
Fantastic food! The hostess who took us to our table was apparently not happy to be there but everything else was great. The BBQ shrimp was so amazing we ordered a second plate. Tip- order the shrimp and peel it yourself. It tastes better and it’s definitely more fun. We ordered the second plate peeled and the meat didn’t taste as good. We loved it and will be back!
My oysters were supposed to be charbroiled, they weren't even hot! The waiters had to ask several times about our after dinner drinks before they were correct.
Always spectacular service and expertly exquisite food every time
Great food. Excellent service. Top notch Bourbon!!!
Went to the Bourbon House on a date night with my wife. We shared grilled oysters with lump crab meat on them. They were delicious and would go back just for the grilled oysters.
As for the rest of the meal I’m no so impressed. I had the BBQ shrimp and the were completely over done. It was all but impossible to peel the shells off but the flavor was good. My wife had the seafood sampler. Very unimpressive. The most expensive offering on the menu I would expect more and better quality.
Service was good with very personable waitress. They made up for some of the short comings of a loud and not very warm atmosphere.
Great food and service
When we walked in and was greeted promptly and they made you feel welcome.
Original NOLA girl moved to Orlando & eat here every time I visit! BBQ shrimp to die for.
It looked like a good idea online. But in reality felt like a tourist trap. I was early for my reservation and called ahead to see if it was ok. The hostess was disinterested on the phone and said that I could sit in the cafe or bar. When I arrived I again acknowledged my name and reservation asked her to cancel it as I would eat in the cafe. Again she was completely not engaged. Sat in the cafe ended up ordering two bourbon pours one blantons and something that was recommended by the waiter. When I said that the recommendation was harsh and would like something else they grabbed up the pours from the table said they were the same and that they were out of blantons!!! ???? Which they were completely different. They should have gotten this right considering it’s a bourbon bar! And the way they took away the original pours made me feel like they were being shady and knew they made a mistake. If you have ever had Blantons you know when it not blantons!!!
Will stay off of Bourbon street from now on. Tourists only belong here
Great food and really good cocktails. Service was very uneven. We ordered a dozen grilled oysters with our drinks. Our oysters came out quickly and were gone by the time our drinks came! 45 minutes later we finally got to order dinner and RE rice my wife’s beer. In their defense, they were busy. They may need a few more waiters at their busy times?
We had a “agitated” head server. The other person helping out getting drinks, bread, etc was Outstanding! If it wasn’t for him we would have left. Our main server was not nice, hurried us along, didn’t offer dessert, didn’t recognize mistakes she made on the order, etc. We spoke with the manager and made sure our guy got the gratuity and not her. You can serve me cold food, late bringing it out, wrong order, it doesn’t matter as long as you are NICE. She was NOT and needs to go get a job doing something other servicing customers in the food industry.
Enjoyed my red fish with crab meat, my friend enjoyed her spinach salad with fried oysters, but my daughter did care for her pasta with oysters. Pasta she felt was overcooked. Our two servers were very helpful.
We came for a birthday celebration after being recommended this place by a few friends. The host staff seemed like they didn’t want to speak to us when we arrived, when we were seated post reservation time the table was covered in water spots and bread crumbs. The silver doesn’t sit on napkins making the choice questionable. The staff was rushed, it seemed like there was too much going on for them even though there were separate waiters for drinks and food, which made things slightly complicated not knowing who to ask for what. Overall poor experience.
Reservations were not ready at the appointed time (we were actually there 10 minutes early, but they still weren't ready at the appointed time. I think they were understaffed but the lady at the desk was rude. Had she simply explained that they needed extra time to get the table ready I would have understood, but I got a surly "they're clearing the table" 10 minutes after my reservation time. When I asked 15 minutes after that I got same response with the same attitude. Food was generally good, but part of mine was cold, which they quickly and politely replaced when I told them.
Overall a good experience, although we did wait 30 minutes to be seated even with a reservation. As with many upscale restaurants, you don't get as much food as you are paying for but the quality was great. Hostess let her stress show through a bad attitude, but wait staff was awesome!
