Dickie Brennan and his culinary team have created an incredible menu of classic New Orleans dishes complemented by new favorites. Signature favorites include Gulf fish on the Halfshell and New Orleans style Barbeque Shrimp.
Bourbon is a central focus at the bar with 200 bourbons on the list. Bourbon House is the perfect place for a specialty cocktail or a straight pour of that hard to find small-batch whiskey.
Food was fantastic. Overall a great lunch.
Very bad experience. Don’t get the breakfast buffet. The omelettes had nothing in them but you could get only spinach.
The buffet table once empty was never refilled. Waited forever for a chocolate croissant but got a doughy plain croissant. Got one cup of coffee. Service was poor.
Redfish in half shell was outstanding!!!!
I have been here numerous times. It is solid, but very busy. The food is staple and good.
So glad we went here. Ask to sit by the window if you want to watch the crowd on Bourbon Street.
Our waiter was amazing! Oysters yum! It’s a bit loud but we lived it!
It was dinner for our 2nd anniversary—made reservation rather last minute—but only time we’ve used open table for a special event that the venue didn’t even mention it. Other than that, it was an excellent meal.
The frozen bourbon punch is dynamite! Food is great as always.
Table was fine. Noise level was quite loud. Waiter was very good. Crab claws for appetizer. Flavor was good but maybe 10 to 12 of the smallest crab claws I've ever seen. Very disappointing. Main dish was Red fish on shell with Lemon butter wine sauce and lump Crab meat. ONE piece of lump crab meat was all that was on mine and another person at table ordered the same and received the same. Disappointing!
Above average experience
The Bourbon House is one of The Quarter's best restaurants. The food and service is always great and the atmosphere is truly New Orleans.
Went to Bourbon House expecting to try different Bourbons. Everything that we asked for on the "select find" list was not available. Disappointed as we could easily get any of the other bourbons from our local grocery store. Food and ambiance was good, however. If you want a good meal with friends, this is a nice spot to try but don't expect to get top-shelf bourbon here.
The oysters were terrific and the service was great as well.
Great cocktails with huge selection of bourbons. Food was good nothing exceptional the seafood sampler was fairly bland and fish was dry. Service was very good.
Birthday dinner. Good was amazing as always and I stop in here regularly as a French quarter resident/local. Cauliflower appetizer was amazing. Chargrilled oysters were a bit smaller than past visits but nonetheless were amazing.
They brought out a thoughtful and unexpected tasty chocolate sundae with candle for the evening finally. Fortunately without clapping and singing (cheesy) that comes at some other places.
Came several years ago and it was 5 star. Menu items different and seevice ok. Cant give it more than 4
Sat next to a waiter station where we had to listen to multiple employees stating their negativity with both the managers and guest they were serving. Employee morale appears to be negative and definitely didn’t allow us to fully enjoy the evening. The food was outstanding and worth a trip back once they fix the front of the restaurant.
We had a group of six. We’ve been friends for years it was a very pleasant experience
Bourbon house is a perfect fine dining for sea food! If you are visiting NOLA, then this should be on your must do list. I went here with my girl friends and it was their first time trying crabs and oysters! And woo la they love love loved it! The location is perfect and we reserved via open table, service was awesome they were so friendly and patient to take even our pictures in spite of a busy timing. Don’t miss it!
We will NOT go again. Food & drinks were ordinary. Nothing special about the place.
Excellent restaurant with a good choose of food. Next time we will book again.
Waitstaff was attentive. Food was better than I thought it would be for a large, busy restaurant. Had the seafood sampler. Felt the grilled shrimp skewer was a tad over cooked. The fish was cooked nicely. The crab imperial was ok....a bit too much filler for me. The food arrived at room temperature. I like my food hot. I’d probably go back but after trying other seafood restaurants first. .
Josh and Noel were awesome waiters. These two guys made it a great experience!
We chose the Bourbon House while walking on Bourbon Street; it was among several highly rated restaurants we considered. What a great choice! The food was unique, very much in style with the New Orleans cuisine we were expecting. The prices were reasonable, the service great and we thoroughly enjoyed the meal. Highly recommend this restaurant to anyone in the area!
Celebrating Southern Decadence with good friends
Bourbon House was absolutely amazing! We wanted more of everything. Being right on Bourbon Street I was concerned that the restaurant would be noisy like its surroundings, but I was pleasantly surprised to walk in to a quiet and peaceful setting. It felt like a whole different world than the street outside, but still right in the middle of all the action. The sauce on the filet mignon was superb. Our favorite was the oyster appetizer that was topped with crab meat and a lemon butter sauce. Both desserts were delicious as well- season ice cream that was vegan (but so tasty) and the best bread pudding. This meal was the highlight of our trip to New Orleans.
The food was delicious! THE DRINKS THOUGH. The drinks were all amazing especially the Voodoo Child!!
The was our first time to visit Bourbon House. The food and service was very good. We enjoyed our wait staffers. The catfish was exceptional.
Oysters disappointing in that the crab meat was just tossed on overcooked grilled oysters...and this is an oyster house.
I have been there many times and enjoyed food...but the meal was mediocre.
I will try again though!
The food. The service. The atmosphere. Top notch. Even with a 9 month old, the waitstaff was oh so wonderful!
The service was great. I had the Seafood Sampler and was unable to eat the crab imperial as if was over cooked (dried out), the serving size was truly a. “Sample” size.
Went for Coolinary month... they tried to tell me it wasn’t offered on Friday’s , even though the website Said otherwise.
Oysters were the size of a nickel, pork tenderloin had no flavor at all. The best part was the cosmopolitan from the bar. There are better restaurants in the city, with better tasting food , with way better prices. We will not be returning.
Our table captain, Corey, made our dining experience both memorable and delightful. His panache, knowledge and personable nature kept us fully engaged in our dining experience and anticipating the wonderfully prepared culinary delights he promised would come at each course of our meal. I am happy to report that each of his promises were kept as the preparation of our meal was perfectly executed from start to finish.
We look forward to returning to Bourbon House. We shall insist on dining with Corey: even if it means that we have to wait to be seated. Kudos, Corey! The pride you take in ensuring your guests have a wonderful experience is evident in your demeanor. Keep up the great work!
Best oysters I’ve ever had. Broiled with crab meat and fresh oyster shooters. Will come back for more!!!
We had a party of 5. Everyone was happy with their various entree choices. I got the fried oyster platter. It was good. Acme house has a better platter. With that being said this was a good number 2 option.
The staff was great. They offered suggestions and gave honest opinions on the food.
I would go back and recommend to others.
Food was decent but service was not good. We waited for over 10 minutes before we even got water and had to ask another server who wasn't assigned to our table for bread. When Tom, our server, finally came to the table, he gave us some info and then was getting ready to leave. We were hungry so we had to ask if we could put in our appetizer order then. Had to ask for another glass of wine instead of being offered one when they saw it was out. Also noticed a man at another table in our section get up and flag down a waiter, as he was not being helped. As for food, it's not bad - 1/2 dozen charbroiled oysters to start (Drago's are better) and the stuffed shrimp mirliton as my entree. That was pretty good, but my husband's redfish was outstanding. If we had to go back, that's what I would order. We're local and like to go to different restaurants to see where we would take out of town friends to or refer people to when they're visiting. Unfortunately, this wouldn't make our list.
Great service and good sea food
What a wonderful time. After all these years of going to New Orleans this was the first time I heard about the temperature lunch! Not only was the food amazing, so was the service and the price. During our 4-day/3-night stay we had lunch twice at the Bourbon House.
Fantastic service. Friendly staff, great service and we had a great deal during coolinary month in Norlens. The charbroiled oysters were out of this world.
