Nice restaurant, food, and service. However, the ambiance is not in line with the pricing.
Great dinner with excellent service and the steak was one of the best we have ever had. Amazing choice of wines as well.
Great service but sorry to say that my ahi tuna was way over cooked, no pink showing at all.
Excellent location food was outstanding. Go ahead and reserve a table now!
This place is delicious, but the service took the night.
Our server was superbly attentive and helpful.
Highly recommend it
Simply awesome food and service.
Amazing food! Great service!!!!!!!!
Great dinner!! I will certainly return on my next visit to Phoenix!! Thank you B&B!!
The cuts of meat were fat with an abnormal amount of waste. NYC steakhouse prices for poor quality product
We won’t be back
The server was kinda rude, we spent over $400 and he had an attitude the whole time. Our friend ordered a bone in filet and he received another cut that was boneless. When we got the servers attention and he told him the server said no you didn’t and looked at his pad. I get it is an expensive piece of meat but the server was trying to save face. We appreciated that he fixed it and had the manager come over but it was made uncomfortable when he kept asking if he wanted a drink or dessert for missing that. Again, it was appreciated, but the server had a problem all night and it was clear our $400 wasn’t on his radar but his other more expensive tables were. My food was absolutely amazing, but based on the experience I won’t be back.
We went to Bourbon and Bones during restaurant week. We were impressed to receive a reminder concerning our up coming reservation. Our table was next to the Scottsdale street excellent view. Our waiter Christopher was professional and courteous. We appreciated his service and checking on our dining needs. Service was good. The selection on the restaurant week menu was great and the portions were large. I ordered an 8 oz filet cooked exactly the way I wanted it medium well. My wife had an 8 oz filet as well cooked more toward well done. Both were excellent. Compliments to the chef. There is public parking half a block down free as well as complimentary parking by the restaurant behind. We were celebrating our anniversary and notified the restaurant ahead of time. Was disappointed that nothing special was done and/or a complimentary dessert given to us. Would have been nice. Speciality of the restaurant is steaks. Huge selection. Recommend this for meat eaters.
Not impressed at all. Was expecting a lot more based off of the reviews. I came here with my mother for a late Mother’s Day dinner and it just so happened to be Restaurant Week. The server, Anna, was sweet and helped us pick out a good bottle of wine. But other than that the food was subpar at best. First both of our meals came out cold. They took them back and “reheated” them. The cook in my steak was off throughout. My Mother’s was over cooked. They replaced my steak yet again and it was alright as filet goes. I’ve had much better steaks and Restaurant Week experiences at many other places. I feel like sometimes people during these deals get cheated out of the full experience, which is a shame in my opinion. I have become loyal customers to plenty of restaurants during this promotion. Definitely will not be a returning customer.
Always a fav place due to the food, choice of bourbon, service, location, and ambiance.
Best service and fun environment!
We had a reservation at 815 we where not seated until 9 pm they offered the four of us champagne when we where seated. I was seated with my girlfriend my mom and my 15 year old nephew, Mom and nephew can’t drink nephew obviously isn’t old enough and Mom is allergic, I don’t understand why you have people make reservations online with a third party if you can’t accommodate them, it’s a great restaurant with good food and it’s not cheap which I was happy to pay, but if I’m gonna pay a premium I would like the service and staff to match up with the price!!! We where told to wait outside and had to ask twice how long it would be? No one informed us of how long it would be at any time and we where initially told it would only be 5 or 10 mins... I feel like it was a total break down of management and they left the poor girls at the front to bear the burden of having to deal with any customers, I won’t go back I would rather spend money at Dominick’s or maestros they provide the service which bourbon and bones is trying to be but falling short of.....
Won’t consider going back way too noisy
We went for my sister’s birthday. It was excellent. Everything was wonderful. Highly recommend for food, service, ambiance.
Food was outstanding! Service was good - was a very busy time as it was restaurant week. Only complaint is that the music was too loud , made conversation and hearing the wait staff difficult.
The service wasn’t good at all!!! The food was just ok.
I really had high hopes for this place but the steak was terrible. Not even close to what Mastros does on bone in NY.
This is one of the best restaurants in the Scottsdale/ Phoenix area. Attention to details and extensive cocktail collection really enhance the experience.
Fantastic meal from beginning to end. Excellent cocktails and meal. The wait staff was impeccable. Looking forward to our next visit when we're in Scottsdale.
We went there for an anniversary dinner. The service and food were both excellent! I would definitely return for a special occasion.
Quality of steak did not match pricing
I took my girlfriend there for a nice steak dinner. We have been going to the same steakhouse for about the last 5 years because there isn't anything remotely close until we discovered, Bourbon & Bones. They know how to prepare a steak! One of the best the PHX area has to offer.! Not to mention the amazing steaks, but their wine and cocktail selection is to die for. I told my sever the type of bourbons that I am into and told him to go to have the bartender work his magic. He came back with an excellent drink. KUDOS all around. We will definitely be back. We found our new steakhouse.
We were really looked g forward to it, but after the chef substituted chicken on our octopus order it went downhill. Great place for drinks, but I think we’ll stick to City Hall for steaks.
The best meal I have on the Phoenix/Scottsdale area!!! The grilled octopus was the best I ever had!! So tender and so much flavor. My scallops were done to perfection!!! My steaks were also excellent!!! Brad are sever was super!!! Very friendly, knowledge and great personality!! Can’t wait to come back again!!!
I took my office colleagues to Bourbon and Bones last year and the food/service was amazing! This year I decided to give it another go and the restaurant did not disappoint. Our server was Tina was outstanding and the chef even made us a special scallops appetizer that was out of this world. Going to make another yearly reservation with them next year.
B&B has an excellent selection of whiskey and the food is exceptional. The grilled octopus was one of the best appetizers I have ever had.
100% on the Tomahawk and oysters
Easily the best meal and service I have ever had. This was a real treat and a wonderful dinner to celebrate with friends.
I have always liked this place but to charge for ice balls $3.00 is totally uncalled for
Not something I will recommend again
And I have ate there dozens of times
Food was very good service was great noise level bigh
Great food and service!
This was an interesting dining experience. I was really looking for a good solid traditional steakhouse, but we selected this one because of location. It ended up being a mixed bag. The menu was pretty standard stuff. The seafood tower was ok. It wasn’t great, but it wasn’t bad. The sides were excellent. We had truffle mashed potatoes, truffle lobster Mac and Cheese, and Brussel sprouts. They were all excellent.
Why was this meal disappointing? I felt like there was a little bait and switch. The menu online said they featured Prime grade meat. Aged Prime is standard for high end steakhouses these days. Once we sat down our server, who honestly was a little borderline pushy, went over the menu. In doing so, she quickly disclosed that, in fact, only two of the steaks were actually prime. She did it in a way that I almost missed. I had ask her to confirm I’d heard her correctly. She confirmed. The way she said it the first time and the way the menu was worded and priced made me feel like it was a bit underhanded. To be honest, once that happened, I was put off enough that I probably viewed some amenities in a different light. For instance, they made a big deal out of presenting an elaborate wooden box of various steak knives and letting you select one. I’d have probably thought that was a near touch, but with the prime v. choice steak issue, it felt like they were putting on a show to cover up the fact they were charging $49 for a filet I can buy from my grocery store for $12 or at Outback for $27.
I ordered the New York Strip (one of the two prime options). It was prepared well. Nothing to knock your socks off if you are used to decent steakhouses, but not bad.
The dessert was excellent.
I’m glad we sat in a private room - the dining room sounded way too loud.
I probably would have rated it higher, but the steak and menu thing just felt sneaky.
If I end up in Scottsdale again, I’d avoid this place and try Mastros.
We were in Scottsdale for a weekend getaway decided to book a reservation. We were so impressed with the service and the food was great! Would definitely recommend and we will be back!
Superb evening! Right on the corner on Scottsdale Road in Old Towne. Tons of parking here or in city lot behind. Open and airy on this night. Decor is business elegant......very chic. Extremely inviting, wonderful menu and a superb wine offering. Bar looked very well-stocked!! I had bone-in ribeye and partner had cut without bone. Huge portions. Started off with cold shrimp. Horseradish might kill you, but excellent, none the less. Shrimp are about 7" long! Next was a champagne vinaigrette dressing over greens, pears and candied pecans.........still dream about that one. Side was the brussel sprouts served family style. Wait staff had our backs from basket of bread/butter to offering dessert. Meal was a value as the portions were generous, served at appropriate temps and plated properly. We both took a doggie box home!
I'm sorry to say that all 4 of us felt that our meal at Bourbon & Bones was overrated and overpriced. This was our 1 evening out with our friends and we were all looking forward to an evening of fine dining. The ambiance was ordinary, the food was tasteless and the presentations was horrible. If you didn't spend extra $ on a sauce to cover the meat, you didn't get any flavor. If you didn't order a side, all you get is a piece of meat sliding around on a big white plate. No garnish, no color, no eye appeal. No recommendation.
(Very good service though)...
