Bourbon & Bones Chophouse and Bar is a chef-driven, sophisticated steakhouse and bar. Came here for a special occasion and everything was perfect. Good food, excellent service… it’s only gone downhill the last couple visits. This last visit was more than just disappointing. My husband saw they had a tequila old fashioned with chocolate biters. We asked if we could sub rye whiskey instead and the waiter kind of passive aggressively said “How about I just bring you a regular old fashioned?” Asked for a drink menu back and they had a drink called “A Dark Rye’d” which was literally rye whiskey and chocolate biters! Why not suggest that instead of being rude? Then my husband’s steak was not just well-done. It was cremated. Literally looked burnt on the outside and so grey in the center from being overcooked. Sticking to DC Steakhouse, Ocean and Mastros from now on.

4th time coming here and as always, it’s been a great experience. From the food, to the service, they are prompt and always had a smile with a positive attitude. Katy and her team, were excellent. To start, my wife and I ordered each a Cesar salad, she ordered the 10oz filet, I ordered the bone in Ribeye, for sides we ordered the Mac n Cheese, Asparagus, Mushrooms, Mashed Potatoes. All of the food was cooked exactly how we wanted it and lots of flavor. Compliments to the Chef. To add, the Banana Nut Old Fashioned was very tasteful and smooth, my compliments to the Bartender. Lastly, we were gifted a Butter Cake for my birthday and that is our most favorite sweet treat. We have been to many steakhouses from right here at Bourbon & Bones San Tan, to Prime steakhouse - Wild Horse, to Mastro’s Oceans Club - Scottsdale, Delilah - Las Vegas, SW Steakhouse at the Wynn, and still yet, Bourbon & Bones San Tan continue’s to be my favorite. Excellent work team. Thank you.

Prime Rib special was chewy and laced with gristle. Would have hoped for a better cut of meat. Service was excellent.

We were warmly greeted upon arrival, and the menu aimed for a steakhouse experience—though not quite at the level of places like Steak 44 or Maple & Ash. Our server Katie was kind, but service became inconsistent. We finished our sparkling water before entrées arrived, and despite the empty chiller, no one offered a refill until we asked near the end. I appreciated Katie noticing my empty Diet Coke and replacing it without being asked. We ordered the $165 Wagyu ribeye cap, which lacked flavor and sear, and a prime bone-in ribeye that arrived rare instead of rare-plus. The biggest concern was a staff member placing a box of steak knives within reach of our 18-month-old and not reacting when he reached for them. We had to intervene ourselves—an obvious safety oversight. The general manager greeted other tables but skipped ours entirely, which felt odd and left us wondering why. No goodbye or acknowledgment from hostesses as we exited, which added to a feeling of disengagement. The restaurant aspires to be upscale, but the service and awareness didn’t meet that standard. Our bill was $371; I still tipped 20% because I believe Katie was trying. Unfortunately, the overall experience just fell short.

Highly recommend the bone marrow and A5 appetizers. Drinks were amazing too! Fun place for a date night.

Outstanding service at the bar - our server suggested some stunning mocktails for us (which were outstanding). The beef medallions were extremely tender and the french fries were lovely. Great environment.

Celebrated our anniversary and our first time visiting! Service was top notch! Atmosphere is inviting and quiet, could have a conversation. Food was excellent, the filet was cooked perfectly & could cut it with a butter knife (although not necessary as they present you with your own personal choice of knife) try the English pea orzo as a side, decadent and delicious! Highly recommend!

The service and food were almost perfect until we checked our bag after leaving. My family specified wanting to take home the rest of the sauce that we'd added on to our steaks and when we got home it was not there which just feels like a waste and disregard for our request. Other than that the food was delicious and the service was very attentive.
