First time here. The front desk lady at the Statler did not give clear directions on how to find the bar. Its underground by the way. We happen to stumble in during a comedy night! The comedians were great. The crowd was diverse, young and old, mostly couples. The drinks were delicious but sooooo expensive! About $20 per drink! There should be more cocktail options and more affordable too. The ambiance is dark with a combination of pub tables with chairs and some sofa style seating as well. The bathrooms are unisex which I do NOT like but they were clean. We parked valet because it was 8pm and we didn’t want to walk to the Statler. We are not familiar with downtown. We did not order food because the drinks were so expensive

Got here on a Friday night and it wasn't super busy but there was no service. Didn't need a reservation and never had a server or bartender so we just left. A real disappointment.

It was very quiet when we came here and yet the floating bartender wouldn’t give us table service. Neither of us liked our drinks - they were too sweet and not well balanced. On top of that, seeing an inflammatory political image hang above the typical vintage “speakeasy” decor above our table was odd and took us out of the moment. You go to a speakeasy to escape these types of things, not have them thrown in your face. We definitely will not be back.

We arrived for our reservation, there was no host to seat us. After a few minutes, a bartender came and asked us a few questions that seemed kind of irrelevant to our reservation, then told us to sit wherever we wanted and to come to the bar to order because they wouldn’t be coming to check on us. He also informed us that they had recently changed the menu. We decided to sit at the bar so that we could get prompt service, because we had another reservation following this one. Once we looked at the menu, we decided to leave because there’s literally only 5 things on it and none of them sounded appetizing. We waited several minutes so we could let them know we were leaving, but unfortunately, even though they were just on the other side of the bar, neither of the bartenders checked on us again. This is the third time I’ve had an unpleasant experience at Bourbon & Banter. Poor service seems to be a part of their brand. I won’t be returning.

The food was terrific, and the atmosphere was impeccable. It was fun watching people attempt to get into the door if they did not know how to access the speakeasy.
