Located on First and Main in the heart of downtown Napa and housed in an historic 1880’s building, the Bounty Hunter Wine Bar & Smokin’ BBQ has been voted “Best Wine Bar in Napa Valley” for years running. The old-West themed Wine Bar features an incredible wine list, over 40 wines by the glass with tasting flights, artisan beers, and a full lunch and dinner menu created by Chef Mark Johnston. The Beef brisket, Pulled pork, and our signature Beer can chicken are the best in the West! Wasn’t particularly busy or crowded, but the service was subpar. We (party of 2) waited about 10 minutes before being greeted by the server after being seated. We immediately order food and drinks when she did come, to which the food came out before the drinks did (I had to ask for a status on our drinks twice). Food was alright, hot when served. We had to flag down our server to pay a few times as well once meal was done and it took another 10 minutes for her to actually pay us out at the table.

On this visit my burger was just about acceptable and my wife's brisket sandwich was of our quality. The slide in quality has made us decide to check out other places but I fear the post pandemic restaurant scene has not yet returned to its previous attraction level. Basically quality down, prices up.

We had the ribs and French dip. The ribs were delightfully tender and they drop a trio of bbq sauces with which to eat them. The French dip was the best I’ve ever had—melt in your mouth tender, flavorful and the hint of horseradish was the perfect amount to set off the flavor of the meat. I would drive back to Napa just to eat here!

Every drink we ordered and all the food was delicious. The bartenders were helpful in giving us tourists places to go and try. Service was slow and thought the bar area would be bigger but everything was good. We had several different drinks between the four of us and we loved them all. I think because of the time they put into making them made it take longer so it’s worth the wait.

Amazing! I will absolutely be coming back here. I made reservations, but wanting to go early because it was chilly out and I had my 7th month old.. they accommodated me without any hesitation. Staff was lovely, the food is phenomenal.. drinks were delicious. Honestly, just overall a great experience.

Amazing food and service. The wait staff are fast, fun and attentive. Best bartender in Napa. Everything is good on the menu, but the Reuben sets the Gold Standard. We are locals and this is our favorite place for lunch in Napa.

Delicious barbecue and exemplary service! I ordered the BBQ bowl which is coleslaw, with a pile of meat of your choice and your choice of sauce. A full meal! Brisket and ribs super tender. Wait staff is prompt and friendly. My only concern is it’s a small place so very few tables. I recommend making a reservation.

OMG! If you like barbecue, this place is the bomb! This is probably the best beef brisket I’ve ever had in my entire life. Everything we had was good! My friend had the St. Louis ribs and they were delicious. My other friend had the hamburger and he loved it and then my other friend ordered some type of a cheese plate. I also got the baked beans which I loved and the coleslaw. Everything was so good my friend said the cornbread was delicious. I would definitely recommend this place 100% and I am a total food snob. You better get in here
