Sunday Brunch 10a-2p
No evening specials, parking is horrible, fruit flies invaded our small table like we were sitting outside (notable: we were in the same room as the open kitchen so......). Risotto was like paste and the request to switch spring peas to the honey braised carrots somehow got lost and they were cooked in with the risotto. While it wasn’t bad, it was just off. The filet with the coffee jus was cooked perfectly.
Very conflicted about this review. The food was fine. However, the main reason we went to Boundary was to take the shuttle to the MUNY. We ended up not taking the shuttle.
We got there at 6:30, all ordered from the MUNY menu, but service was slow and we missed the shuttle to get us to the MUNY by the 8:15 curtain time. In fact we caught up to the shuttle in Forest Park. Very dissapointing.
I was so disappointed I had tears. It was my birthday and my daughters and we came to celebrate. We've been to boundary before and it has always been classy. This time it was so bad I
wish we hadn't come. Our waiter did not know what he was doing and kept telling us that he doesn't usually wait tables. It was obvious anyways, but if he couldn't answer our questions he did go ask for help. His greeting to us was "Can I get you anything ?" The couple seated next to us had their coffee and bread and went up to the bloody Mary bar, but while they were up there a bus girl came and started removing everything from their table . We had to tell her to stop. Nothing was said about our birthdays which was on the special request on my reservation. There was a band playing that was absolutely unnecessary, and it was very loud in the dining room. I hope Basso hasn't suffered too there was a band playing that was absolutely unnecessary, and it was very loud in the dining room. I hope Basso hasn't suffered too . I don't plan to come back to Boundary.
Long wait to get drinks. Server forgot to place one dinner order- should have taken that off bill, but did not.
We always love coming to the Boundary when we have tickets for the Muny! Love the restaurant, food ambiance and convenience to the Muny. Even though the show was cancelled due to rain storms, it was a memorable evening.
Went to Boundary before the Muny to catch the free Trolley. We had several items off the menu and everything was very good. A little pricy for a family of four. Next time it will be just the two of us!
Our daughter ordered the Muny special (based on Jersey Boys). First two courses was very good - the dessert (donut and ice cream) - just okay.
Will definitely go again for a drink and light dinner
We went to Boundary to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Liza was our waitress, she did a great job and we'll request her the next time we eat at Boundary. All of the food was excellent and was a good value. Liza designed a nice dessert for us for our anniversary celebration. All of the food was gluten and dairy free and Liza did a wonderful job helping us navigate ordering the food and not get ingredients that would hurt us. We enjoyed our meal at Boundary and will visit again. Thank you for making it special!
Great food and service. Made it to our show at Muny on time. The Gooey Butter needs to be way more gooey!
For the price the food it about what you would expect. The atmosphere is great, the service was great. I have no complaints, if you haven't been and want to try something new give it a shot.
My only comment was our table was a bit bright for such a cozy place. Lights could have dimmed down. Everything else was great. I will definitely return.
The band was very loud and we had to sit it the bar area which was quieter but had only high bar stools with no backs. The food and service were fairly good. The salmon eggs Benedict was very good, but the red potatoes were so overcooked they were dry and the skins were so crunchy they cracked like egg shells. It is a beautiful place, however, lots of dark wood thanks to Cheshire, with the feel of an old English pub.
Loved the oysters!! A must!
This was our first time at Boundary hosting our guests who have been there many times and are moving to Baltimore because of a big promotion. We were very pleased with the food, wine list, and especially the service, and we will definitely return!
Not impressed for Fathers Day Brunch. Server was slow and acted as if she was ready to get off work. Food was cold when it came to the table. Had to ask for drinks to be refilled. And then loud music playing at 1230pm. Not what I wanted for an out of town guest.
We went to brunch on Father’s Day 2018 and the food was delicious! The menu featured unique items not usually found at your standard brunch, such as homemade beignets (excellent), ricotta buttermilk pancakes, brioche french toast, vegetarian omelettes and a tasty hash and eggs combo. The make-your-own mimosa and bloody mary bar was fun, and the three-piece jazz ensemble playing that day was delightful. Our group of four adults had appetizers, drinks and full entrees for just under $100, which we thought was very reasonable considering the Clayton location and popular holiday event. We will definitely return to Boundary on a regular basis!!
Jay was our server and he was amazing! The mimosa bar had plenty of options. Everything from the granola to the French toast to the eggs and bacon was fabulous! Definitely a great brunch! Highly recommend it!
On June 16th, I scheduled my wife's birthday celebration at Boundary's Restaurant. She, my mother-in-law and I were so pleased. The steaks, which my wife and I had were so, so good, and my mother had the fried cod w/slaw and fries, which she enjoyed. We were just in awe with the salad, which was so tasty and plated so elegantly. This is the second time for us having dinner at Boundary, and we have been very satisfied for both times.
Great service. Seafood was very fresh and prepared perfectly. Great drinks and appetizers.
Delicious food and great wine selection. Enjoyed the Seared Snapper and a Zinfandel very much
Service was great. A good variety of menu items. My husband’s rotisserie chicken was fine not great. The charbroiled oyster appetizer was very good. My scallop entree was too salty but I asked for roasted veggies instead of risotto and that was very good. We would return. And had a fun night.
Staff was friendly and the food was excellent. The menu is a little underwhelming and the parking is awful.
Boundary is the perfect place to brunch with friends. I met up with a couple of girlfriends there this weekend, and we proceeded to have a nice, long leisurely dining experience. We tried the Bloody Mary bar (rivaled only by Sqwire's), noshed on the excellent cheese board, savored the biscuits with apple butter, and finally tucked into a stack of the Ricotta Pancakes. The word heavenly comes to mind. Will definitely return!
A very enjoyable meal in a warm and inviting atmosphere. We had great service and our meals were excellent. My only complaint was that I thought the seafood platter appetizer was a bit overpriced for what we got. We’ll go back!
Our waitress was very attentive and the menu was incredibly diverse in its offering; I’ve not seen Poutine on a menu outside of Canada! Desserts were amazing and the cocktails were expertly made
Had the most fun!!!! Great food, great service, atmosphere was awesome. It was my Birthday and our waiter(who was fabulous on 6/1/18 Fri.) gave me some Choc. mouse with Happy Birthday written on the plate with choc. So nice!!!! Thanks for a great experience Boundary's. Next time we are in St. Louis we will go to Boundary's. Joyce R. and Husband Jack.
As a frequent visitor, I really like the simple, yet unique menu. And the food quality and service are uniformly quite good.
However this is the first time I've been seated at one of the table using the bench seating on one side, and it was less than ideal. The person seated on the bench sits quite a bit lower than the person in a chair, which makes for an uncomfortable arrangement; especially for a business lunch.
Overall, we had a nice experience. Our waitress was amazing - kind, friendly, and attentive. The cocktails are tasty. The price is reasonable. The scallops were cooked perfectly, but the bed of creamy tomato risotto they were atop would not have been my choice to pair with them. The kale salad was near perfect - the mascarpone was a great idea, but the kale leaves should have been massaged a little more to make them more tender to the bite. The mussels were okay - the broth was nothing spectacular but was good, and the mussels themselves were large. We had six oysters - 3 from each coast - and they hit the spot, especially with all the fixins it comes with.
New update to the beet and kale salad was delicious! One of the best I've had.
Vegan Farro Risotto was plentiful and delicious.
Love the decor an ambiance.
2nd time here for brunch & the service from our server was less desirable, it was as if our server couldn’t be bothered. Food was not that good this time. Burger was ordered med to well & came out med to rare . We sent it back and they remade it but nothing for an apology. First time we came everything was excellent that is why we went a 2nd time. I guess depends on who is cooking & serving you...
We had a wonderful Brunch on Sunday at Boundary. The food was delicious and the drinks were wonderful. They have a make-your-own Bloody Mary and Mimosa bar that was so much fun. Our server was outstanding. We will definitely go back!
Everything was good with the exception of the service. I had to constantly ask for water and for plates to be removed. And staff was not knowledgeable about the status of food available at the buffet.
Overall I was really happy with the place. The staff was great, the food was fantastic.
I would love to come back
We went here for my husband’s birthday dinner. Very disappointing! Hostess nowhere in sight when we arrived. No ambiance - loud, pulsating music piped in from somewhere. Food not particularly interesting or well-prepared. We won’t be going back.
There is something off in the synergy of this place. We had a reservation, but we were seated over 30 minutes after that time, I get it, sometimes tables linger way longer than expected. While waiting at the bar for the table, the one cocktail that I was actually very excited to try was not available because of an ingredient they were out of, dissappointing. I ordered red wine, it was served cold? Next, we were sat beside a huge party that was yelling so loud our server could not hear us and we could not hear him, why did we wait for this table? We asked to move. The second server was charismatic and lovely to interact with, but gave us different information about the specials than the first server. The chicken was unavailable, dissappointing. We ordered 6 west / 6 east oysters, 3 of each were delivered. The mains were excellent I had the scallops and everyone finished their plate. If ordering again I would skip the soup.
Overall this place just disappointed over and over. The ambiance is beautiful and the menu is tempting from every corner but the service fell so flat. I expect with this level of food that the service match and surpass it, but it didn't. I feel sorry for the chef.
Arrived on time, was seated and waited for 20 minutes before anyone approached our table. Glasses were filed with water (but no ice). After getting off to a rough start, the service did pick up. Strip steak was way overcooked.
Boundary looks and feels a lot more expensive than it is. The ambiance is sophisticated and the food is excellent. Parking is a bit of a hassle, but luckily they have fast valet service.
Everyone at boundary was super nice. The atmosphere was good. The food was average and over priced. We know we will not return.
Every time I’ve been here, the service is very good but the food is just a little off, like the kitchen isn’t paying close attention. For instance, a dish says it comes with fruit compote but it comes out with lemon curd. The next time, the pancakes & French toast (I think it was French toast, it was another griddle item) have a good taste but the griddle was set a little hot and they were a bit scorched. We like the atmosphere and the “idea” of the place, but the kitchen just needs to tighten up.
Great experience and the food was awesome!! The mimosa and Bloody Mary bar was great!!
