We have been several times for mother’s day brunch and loved it.. however this time was just not the best.
Our waitress wasted water all over my moms and my purses, and I don’t realize until I got home that the Inside of my purse was soaked and my makeup bag was soaked through. Several of the dishes on the stations were cold and I even said something to one of the waitresses that 3 different times the waffles were cold and the grouper was tough. The bathrooms were not clean, as there was no paper towels and toilet paper all over the floor and I told the bartender as I was leaving out that the bathrooms needed to be cleaned.. for 58.00 per person and tax .. I spent 342.00 today and it was not worth it at all.
Boundary was just ok. Honestly, for that price you’d expect a much better service and ambiance. Food was decent though- not extraordinary, but no big complains (New York Strip tasted like too much butter, although filet and French onion soup were good). Portions could be larger, considering the price point- $35pp+ per dish+$10 for a shareable side, and not that special of a location or ambiance (not facing the Arch and no white table clothes etc). No kids’ menu or kid-friendly options other than mac n cheese from an adult menu. Drinks were better - loved our old school “bitters” twist on my usual classic Moscow Mule (although, again, served in a glass and not in a copper mug as it should). Service though could be better, considering price point (meals and 2 drinks for 2 adults, and 1 soup for a child for almost $170 total). Manager never came to check on us, bread didn't get replenished. We made advance reservations stating would be celebrating a birthday, made an effort to come out of town all excited, and got no special treatment whatsoever. Even just a birthday candle or words “happy birthday” on a dessert plate (let me note, paid full price for that dessert, too) could elevate the experience just a bit for us. Nothing special- no compliments from a manager such as a complimentary dessert, a “celebratory aperitive”, or a small extra appetizer, or a hand written card or preferred seating location, or a manager’s welcome, as you’d normally see in most $$$ restaurants when one makes advance reservations for a special celebration. They did say "happy birthday", I gotta give them that hahha. It's as if this restaurant wants to play with the big boys, but the only thing they did was to elevate their prices to appear nicer, but forgot the extras in terms of service and ambiance for it though. Even though drinks and food were decent, this place just didn’t leave any positive impressions and did not make our visit any special.
At first, seated next to a crying baby, but the staff accommodated our request to move to another table. Unfortunately, we were seated near a table of about six or seven very loud adults. What do you do? The service and food were excellent, but the tab was a lot higher than we thought it would be since everyone had burgers and salads, and only one person had alcohol. We did have the cheese board as well. I guess 10 to 12 dollar salads add up. We probably will return but be much more selective with our order. Joe was a great server.
Very Dissatisfied. I had heard so many good things and decided to choose it. The menu choices were limited. We had the onion soup which was very salty. The server ended up crediting the bill for us, which was nice but I would have rather enjoyed the soup. I had the scallops were fairly tasteless. My husband had the burger, which he did enjoy. It’s a shame because the ambiance is great. It could be so much more.
The burger was amazing! Great atmosphere and server
Went for lunch based on OT reviews. There were maybe 5 or 6 other tables when we arrived around 1:00. Limited lunch menu so we opted for the Cobb Salad with chicken and a grilled fish sandwich. The fish sandwich tasted fishy (I was told and this is not a picky eater) and the Cobb Salad had the usual fair but was nothing over the top. The waitress was lovely and the dinner menu looks better. We may give this another chance at a later date, but we won't be rushing back. Could have been the time of day on a Wednesday. Interior was nice.
Great i would go again.
The food was great - service was amazing - very prompt and our waiter was helpful without being overbearing. The atmosphere was very nice - quite and calm. A really nice place. We will be back.
Although they forgot to open their doors for Sunday Brunch, the rest of the experience was exceptional, great value and good good!
Food was ok but for a restaurant that bills itself as “romantic”, this just isn’t the case. First, I observed that the restaurant was quite smoky when we entered. Therefore, I don’t recommend wearing your best jacket or dress as it will certainly need dry cleaned afterward. Second, the restaurant was very noisy. It was very difficult to hear my wife speaking to me at the same table. Although this restaurant is divided into multiple rooms, for whatever reason the hostess decided to cram nearly everyone in the same room, particularly in a room with two groups who had joined multiple tables together and lacked the ability to have an “inside” conversation (and who had clearly had a sufficient amount to drink). The food was ok, though the portions were a bit small. If you are looking for a date night with your spouse or significant other, this is not the place for you. There are many nicer options in the Clayton area.
Sadly, the food was not up to par - the menu was very limited, the food was subpar, one entrée wasn't the proper temperature when it arrived
Food was ok, it wasn’t bad but it didn’t “wow” me either. The menu was pretty limited and I didn’t feel like there was a signature dish that was there specialty. The drinks were good, not great. All in all it was a nice atmosphere but I wouldn’t be compelled to go back any time soon.
Excellent service and good menu, reasonably priced. Atmosphere was very comfortable. Oysters were fabulous.
Boundary consistently has delicious food at reasonable prices. Service was prompt and friendly. We had the roast chicken, hamburger and macaroni and all three were excellent, as was the bread. Recommend highly.
Very cool ambiance. Food was solid, but much too salty. For the price i wouldn't return but you won't leave unhappy, just not a great meal.
Seating and food and wine service was great. We waited 1/2 hour after our meal and finally chased someone down to ask for coffee and dessert.
Fun lively place for brunch. Food was good! Service was great. Couldn't enjoy the mimosa/bloody mary bar this time but definitely will on my next visit.
Food so so. Burger extremely greasy but no seasoning. Felt queasy later. Server spilled salad dressing all over my plate yet left me with that mess. I rescued burger. Server didn’t show back till I no longer needed a new plate. Band was great. We can’t to hear them but Boundary has chosen not to have them play again.
We had a reservation, but still waited 30 minutes.
Food was excellent and our server was attentive and very nice.
I ordered the New York Strip and it was likely the best steak I've ever had. The ambiance is awesome. This place will not disappoint! They pay attention to so many details as well.
The atmosphere, service and food were great. Apparently they have a fairly new chef who hails from Chicago and he has refined a small but excellent menu. The steak tartare appetizer is a must. Both entrees we had were very good. I think this is an overlooked restaurant. Parking is tight but other than that I’d recommend to anyone.
They recently got a new chef. He changed the menu. It more of a steak house style menu. I liked the old menu because the food was more creative and fun. My meal was very good I was just disappointed with the lack of options and no specials.
"I love the relaxed feel of this place. I definitely would return to try more dishes. T
We had just closed on our new house and came to Boundary to celebrate. We had a table by the fireplace, the waitstaff was phenomenal and the food equally as good!
Lovely room, delicious food beautifully presented and great service from Madison.
They got our food order slightly wrong but the service and Bloody Mary Bar were outstanding. Made up completely for the order mix up. Definitely a return visit will be made soon.
We ordered pork chops and they came to the table looking great. However, when we went to cut into they were very tough. We complained to the server and she asked if she could get us some other entre. We said no thankyou we will keep the pork chops. We thanked her and she said she would not charge us for that portion of the meal. She also brought us a free dessert. We were very pleased with the way the whole meal was handled and especially with the server.
First visit and it was perfect! Great menu, small but delicious and the service are atmosphere was on the mark. Will be back soon!
Went on a Tuesday , service was great, the food excellent.
Only thing it has a small menu, but with small menu still has a wide range of variety .
Great breakfast!! Our server, Brandy, was awesome! Very attentive, knowledeable, and most important able to put up with us. Great value and very good food. We are going back for sure!
Make your own mimosa and Bloody Mary bar looked amazing. Will definitely return to enjoy that. Very friendly staff, great food and amazing grits!!!! beignets were light as a feather.
Great lunch spot for business meetings. Nice and quiet, good food. My salmon was cooked perfectly
Service Team was excellent as always, very accommodating. Came in at the end of Sunday brunch, band was still playing (great group). Menu offers great value and selections. Bottomless mimosas were delicious with a full bar of juices to mix. Only issue with the food was it being overly salty, ordered the brisket hash again, but this time the restaurant was out of potato hash so they brought fruit and fries. Fries and brisket were both salty but they took it off the bill and made things right. Great place for the atmosphere with outstanding service. Can’t wait to go back.
Lovely brunch with music!
We had a nice time overall. The staff was fairly accommodating to our desires. Seating is a big deal for us and they moved us to a preferred location in the restaurant. The food was as expected based in previous reviews. Good taste, but nothing unique from other restaurants with similar cuisine. I will say that the shiitake mushrooms serve with the strip were PHENOMENAL! I’ve never had mushrooms prepared in that manner. I was unimpressed by the lack of specials as we often get off menu items. We see this as an opportunity for a chef and restaurant to show its stuff. Lastly, I enjoyed the ambiance for sure as the place offered a stylish presentation. Valet parking was pretty crappy, but I understand this is separate from the restaurant. We will be back!
We’ve eaten at Boundary before but this was our first time with the new chef. The food was very good. Boundary is still the same great place to have a lovely dinner.
We had a wonderful dining experience at Boundary Friday evening. We started with several appetizers ( the steak tartare which is a major favorite with the wonderful crispy house made crackers, the fried oysters and oysters on the half shell and the mussels.). For the main course we had the red snapper, scallops, both steak dishes and the cauliflower soup. Everything was excellent and we could not have eaten another bite when Chef Nick appeared with 2 of the house made deserts. They also were delicious and we couldn’t turn them down. Our server, Liza, did a wonderful job of keeping our wine glasses full and making sure we didn’t need anything.
We definitely look forward to many more dining experiences at Boundary!!
The menu available on the website is NOT the menu at the restaurant, which was disappointing
Fantastic service, absolutely incredible food, and an amazing ambiance. Boundary is perfect for dates and special occasions.
