Excellent food and service! Wonderful menu.
Both food and service were great. My friend had dairy allergy and the waiter/chef were so accommodating. I would strongly recommend this place!
Fabulous restaurant with original and interesting food, friendly and professional service and a quiet and pleasant atmosphere. You can't go wrong.
I requested a seat where we can sit next each other, and they reserved a seat what I exactly expected. Very professional service overall.
The food was mixed; did not enjoy the lamb flatbread (where was the lamb????) and the sea bass tasted like spice and citrus, with no seafood flavor. Carrots and clementine were too sweet for a combination and also esthetically overkill. The lack of subtlety in the dish was startling. The focaccia, shrimp appetizer, and the pistachio chocolate ricotta dessert were all quite good. Service was extremely good.
Fantastic meal. The halva and grapefruit sorbet dessert was among the most delicious desserts I’ve ever eaten!
Love this spot. Food is consistently great and service on point
Pastas were way sub-par than usual but the service overall was good.
We always have a wonderful experience at Boulud Sud, and the last was no exception. We were concerned that the pre-theatre menu might be limiting, but instead, everything was just wonderful. Generally, the food is innovative and tasty, the accommodations comfortable - we always opt for the banquettes - the room long and high-ceilinged, the wine offerings excellent - we only order wines by the glass so cannot vouch for its bottles - and the service attentive.
Every time I go, the food surprised me. Just simply love this place ^^
Amazing flavor combinations, great wine list, and very comfortable
Excellent food and presentation . The dessert was a delight.
We arrived after a performance at Lincoln Center. Though it was not very crowded at that latish hour, they were happy to see us and service was impeccable. Coincidentally it was our friend's birthday and the candle in the dessert and her name and Happy Birthday on the plate were lovely touches. They also comped us an additional delicious, light, lovely dessert to help celebrate the occasion. A great and memorable meal - excellent food, wine and service!
This was a delightful Sunday brunch with a dear friend whom I hadn't seen in several months. We had a table adjacent to the window in the corner, wonderful light and an absolutely delightful and attentive wait staff. It started with the host, who was warm, polite and very accommodating. And, the food as per usual was delicious and wonderfully prepared and presented.
Great food. The one negative is that you are required to eat from the prix fixe menu before 7pm if seated in the main dining room. That can be a little restrictive as far as choices of entrees or even which courses you wish to have.
Very pretty how they serve the dishes. There are good healthy options. The wine selection is good. I loved the olive oil with the garlic as entry.
Decent pre-concert dining experience. Fast and friendly service. Food was not exceptional, though.
Strange that the Open table check list above doesn't include much about the caliber of the food?
Boulud Sud has exceptionally well executed menus -- a cut above in a town with plenty of options. With excellent and graciously relaxed service.
Fabulous food ...we ate there 3 times in 11 days. The diver sole was amazing
My husband and I usually dine after concerts, but this one was a preconceptions dinner with a friend who has a small appetite. Although I was not aware of the proximity-fixe menu before concerts until the day of the event, we were able to sit in the lounge area and order a la carte, which was fine. The staff was especially helpful with this and the service was impeccable. The food choices were limited but very good. My only suggestion would be that instead of only a reasonably-priced prosecco and two very pricey by-the-glass champagnes, it might be a good idea to have the choice of a Cremant as an alternative.
I enjoyed the Moroccan chicken and the grapefruit dessert.
A delightful supper after the ballet. Food and service excellent
For an extra $25 a very small Dover sole was served naked on the plate after the customer had requested it meuniere. No vegetables; not even a parsley sprig!
Enjoyed the $19 Express lunch (includes a soup and a main course). I ordered a main course salad. There are three choices of main course salad, and each includes your choice of a vegetarian, seafood or chicken protein. I had the Medjara with scallop. It was fresh and tasty, although in the future I would probably opt for one of the other two options since there wasn't much in this that I would define as a salad (mostly rice/lentil). The fatoush looked quite good. There are also a number of hot main courses to choose from.
The soup of the day was a puree of cauliflower that was very good.
Coffee after the meal was nicely presented, with the accompanying milk heated up as is done in Europe.
Service was top notch and the ambience was upscale but not stuffy.
I will be back!
Definitely deserves a Michelin star!
The food was very tasty and enjoyable. I had the sunchoke soup and my husband had a risotto special for appetizers and we both had the sea bass. Food was very good. That was about all we enjoyed of Boulud Sud. The tables were all squeezed together. Luckily we were seated at a table for 4 and not the side-by-side tables for 2 because those tables were so close, I thought it was one table for 4 people. The place was loud, waiters and servers scurrying all over the place. There is an open kitchen in this restaurant which I really don't care for. I prefer not to see the kitchen. So, would I recommend to a friend? Sure, go try it once. We won't go back as it just was not a relaxing time.
This restaurant is our favorite in New York. We have dinner there each time before opera. The food is excellent, service is great!
Excellent food and service
Four of us went before 12:30pm opera show. Literally a block away from the Lincoln Center so it was easy to get to the opera house. The view: There's scaffolding outside that hinders the restaurant entrance and from inside the restaurant, there are huge windows covered with white sheers to soften the view of apartment building across the street.
When I received a confirmation call the day before, they asked if I was attending a show. Not sure why they asked, I assumed they would speed up our order so that we can leave on time.
We all ordered 2-course brunch pre-fix for $28. Highly recommend the grilled daurade and Italian chicory salad. The menu options were fantastic. You will get what you paid for and I will be happy to come back again to try other items on the menu. Excellent overall experience.
This restaurant was so good we had to come back and eat their three days later.
Once again Boulud Sud produced two delicious dinners, perfectly served in its lovely setting. We dined after the Philharmonic so at that time it was not too crowded, so we had a very lovely experience. We split the Italian chicory salad was delicious, as was my seafood paparadelle and my husband’s beef duo. The vacherin dessert was great! We always return.
Service was initially slow and disjointed. Very noisy and distracting atmosphere.
Food was good. Recommendations for food and wine were helpful.
Suggest avoid all the tables in the middle.
Disapointed that couldn't enjoy the experience - and conversation was a strain.
The food and service were very good. Upon arrival we were asked if we were going to a show so that they could be sure to have us on our way in time (we were not) If it is before 7 the only option is the 3 course Prix Fix, but there are lots of options on it. Of particular note was the grapefruit desert, hollowed out, filled with sorbet and fresh grapefruit and covered with a caramelized thin crisp lid, and spun coconut on top. Really exceptional.
Superb Quality each dish was flawless, perfectly prepared. Cost is only modestly greater than restaurants that are not nearly as good, worth the extra price
Exceptional service, delicious food, consistently my go-to spot.
The warm atmosphere and the high quality of the cuisine reflect the delightful Boulud Sud experience. It is a food place to return to many times.
Excellent meal, excellent wine selection. The staff was especially helpful in recommending our party of three with proper drinks/cocktails containing ginger, the bartender accommodated properly. Second time here and would return in a heartbeat!
We chose to go here instead of Atlantic Grill across the street because we’ve always been under the impression that Boulud Sud was more upscale and had finer cuisine. However, the food and the service were both mediocre. We ate here a few years ago and thought the food was really spectacular. Perhaps the quality has trailed off in recent years.
Great quality, very creative food. The appetizers we ordered were excellent: lamb flatbread, crudo, octopus. The main courses were good but portions very small. The duck was delicious but not very generous portion at all. The grapefruit givre dessert was fun and special.
The service was ok - they seem to have a weird setup where you have many different waiters during the meal but they were nice.
Note that you cannot order the tasting menu after 9pm and you cannot order the Mediterranean feast unless you are in a large group. The happy hour pasta is in the lounge only.
Ambiance was very business like, you feel like you are in a hotel lobby rather than a cool NY restaurant.
