   Great food, great service and great ambiance! We went to Boulud Sud for brunch and it did not disappoint! Every dish we ordered was perfect and just right. Servers were very attentive and made us feel special even though we were a big group. I would come back to Boulud again!

   A truly grim experience. This restaurant is a classic example of an "institution" becoming completely complacent and riding on its longtime reputation hoping no one catches on to how drab, dated, and truly passionless the food is. Stay away. I am totally baffled by these other reviews. First, the room looks like a first class passenger lounge in an airport in 1984. It borders on kitschy, but it's just really dated and silly. The service is mixed but mostly bad. There are tons of different people coming up to the table, fussing over napkins and pouring drinks, but this only results in confusion. After placing a drink order, someone comes by and asks if we'd like another. I'm a vegan who ate dairy because a different waiter brought the dishes than the one from whom I ordered. It took 15 minutes to get a straw. Our waiter was extremely nice and made up for the disaster that ensued. I mean it - he was great. The food: gimmicky, 80s stodge. Silly presentation that look's like abstract art (also from the 80s). Even the plates were goofy looking. The hummus was dreadful, some sort of thin, flavorless paste. My greek salad - tomatoes, cucumbers, onion, and lettuce (hard to screw up) was good. My boyfriend took one bite of his expensive wagyu steak and couldn't get through it. It was tough, chewy, and terrible. My vegan entree, a phallic, greasy, unappetizing whole eggplant was just crap. The waiter was extremely apologetic and took both our entrees off the bill plus sent a vegan dessert on the house which - strangely- was delicious. No appearance from the manager, though we saw him and the waiter having a real spat over the situation. The waiter then confided in us that others had complained about the wagyu that night, that they'd gotten a "bad cut." Skip this tourist trap. Really. Don't go.

   Always a joy to dine here. Lunch and weekend brunch are excellent value. Service is friendly and accommodating. Dishes are unique.An excellent choice for the Lincoln Center area.

   Your food is too good to eat in the dark! The plating was beautiful and wasted in that dark room. We had to use a flashlight to read the menu. This is not acceptable, french people like to see what they eat. I will not return unless the lighting improves.

   We received very good service at the beginning when it was not busy. Then it was reasonably good when it got busy. The food was excellent, and the presentation was beautiful. (I had the octopus salad, the sea bass, and the grapefruit sorbet from the prefix menu.). It was a wonderful dinner, and the restaurant did not rush us to leave after we finished our dessert.

   Probably one of the finest meals I've ever had. Good vegetarian options as well Pricey but worth it. I'll be back.

   We were outside so consider that accordingly. The food was very good, but not as good as the other Boulud restaurants we've been to. That being said, the Baba ganoush was some of the best we've ever had. The wait staff were good, but not as good as some of his other restaurants. It was excellent overall, but we've just been spoiled.

   The food was good but not fantastic by any measure. The sea bass was just ok. By far not the best one I ever had. The octopus salad was good. Carrot gaspaccio soup was very good. Hummus platter was average. Very nice place but we were expecting a bit more delicious flavors. There are other good places in the neighborhood. Wouldn’t come back on my own unless invited for an occasion by someone else.

   Excellent dinner. My small complaint is the lighting. It’s too low to the extent that it creates eye strain instead of ambience.
