Boulud Sud Ratings and Reviews
My wife and I enjoy travelling and eating out. We regularly find restaurants offering great food and decor but theyy are often too loud to really enjoy ourselves.
Not Boulud Sud! Everything was perfect! They were impressive from the cocktail all the way thrue to desert!!!
We decided to go with the 5 course tasting menue with wine pairing! By far the best food we’ve had in years! And we got to be served in french by our wonderful waitress.
A fabulous evening....
Went after a concert at Lincoln Center. The concert went to overtime. Appreciated that we were able to be seated. The wine recommendations were excellent. I really enjoyed the chicken tangine and my date had the salmon. Both were tasty and well prepared. Overall a most enjoyable experience.
We were celebrating our engagement and had a special evening in mind. We were not disappointed. The food was excellent, the staff was professional, friendly and knowledgeable. The pastry chef surprised us with a special dessert in light of our celebration. We look forward to more visits when we return to NYC.
I dine at Boulud Sud at least twice a month during the Opera season. And because of this, I know the timing of their service. On this dining experience the server was rushing my guest and I to order our entrees and looked upset and perturbed when we asked for a few more minutes of conversation. It all turned out fine, with minutes to spare.
The food and service was wonderful as always.
The restaurant was quite crowded and noisy. In addition, it was very warm and we were seated next to the kitchen and could feel the heat from the warming lamps. It felt cramped and uncomfortable as opposed to other visits where we were seated on the other side of the room. I had requested a quiet table on the phone so I was surprised and disappointed in the atmosphere. As it was my birthday celebration, I was a bit let down/
I am a big fan of Daniel's restuarants and a frequent visitor of DB Bistro and somewhat often of Cafe Bolud. This was my first time at Bolud Sud and I was a bit disappointed. The waiter was extremely difficult to understand due to a very thick accent and he seemed a bit stressed out serving a pre-theatre crowd. The portions were EXTREMELY small, even for someone like me who prefers smaller plates. For $63pp pre-fix, my fish was a small small filet and my appetizer of fluke was excellent, although very small as well. The food was tasty, especially my fluke, but I have to say, the value for your money, was not good at all.
I enjoyed my pre theater dining experience so muc that I went back the following evening. The attentiveness of all dining room staff was several cuts above anything I had experienced before. I felt like a welcome guest both nights. And the food....the prix fixe menu with specials offered plenty of beguiling options. The dishes I chose were well cooked and beautifully presented. Bravo!
Across from Lincoln Center, Boulud Sud was a great place for dinner before a show. The staff was attentive. The Metropolitan cocktail was the best I had in a long time. Menu offered a variety of dishes. Presentation and ingredients of our selections were delicious. My husband and I enjoyed everything about our meal. Before it was over we decided to put it on our list and return often!
Impeccable service is the hallmark of this restaurant. My family had dinner here before the ballet and we were pleased with the menu, one member is a vegetarian and allergic to nuts,
and the food was superb. The sole was the best we had ever eaten and the truffles were heaven itself. The cannoli dessert was a bit of a disappointment but overall the experience was one we would like to repeat.
Amazing food, beautifully prepared and well seasoned. The best meal we had in our four days in NYC. Servers knew we were going to theater and kept the meal perfectly timed to get us out at the right time. Look forward to going back any time we are in the Lincoln Center area.
Innovative Mediterranean inspired dishes. Nice to be able to share a number of small plates with the table. Wait staff attentive (but forgot to split the bill though they’d been asked beforehand whether it would be a problem and said of course not). It is loud. Nice vibe.
Went before the theater at Lincoln Center. Tables are nicely spaced - especially the tables for 4, food is excellent and creative - and service is exceptional. Every single person on staff is gracious and welcoming. Will definitely return - even without the theater!
Loved the food and the service was great. Could not have asked for better! I had an accident in Southeast Asia and was first day on a walker after being in a wheelchair for 5 weeks. They could not have been nicer or more helpful with my temporary handicap issues. This restaurant is a winner and a favorite!
