Great location for a prix-fix pre-theater dinner. Great food and service.
Excellent food and attentive service. They made a special occasion even more special.
Refined middleasten cuisine in a relaxed setting with good service.
Last minute reservation on a holiday weekend Sunday, the host squeezed us into comfortable seats, and the party began. Service is attentive from the get-go, but never intrusive. As a former fine-dining server I enjoy watching the service flow throughout the room. At no time was a single server/runner/manager/busser standing still. Or, when they were standing still they were scanning the room, not speaking to one another, discussing last night's personal adventures (a pet peeve). The pacing of courses was perfect, wine and cocktails were perfect, and the food was outstanding! From the fresh-baked artisanal bread to the hummus and eggplant app, to salads, duck and lamb flatbread, outstanding layering of flavors, acid, salt, umami, texture, and plate appeal. Perfect. We ended with grappa and began the next morning with leftover lamb flatbread at 8 AM in our hotel room. Can't wait to return in April!
Outstanding place. My father and son had dinner, and were extra happy by the whole experience. My father loves cocktails with gin and he had the most incredible attention by staff on what gin is the best and so on. He was so happy and that means a world to me.
It is our favorite restaurant in the City. Thank you for great service. We will be back and always recommend.
Excellent food and service. I believe the menu had changed from my last visit. I was delighted with the new options.
I love Boulud Sud. It is like a great old friend. Always glad to be in its company and it never disappoints
Pleasant Sunday brunch. 4 of us gathered for my wife birthday. Other couple live nearby so this was a choice of convenience rather than great food. We have been there before evening performances at Lincoln Center and place is much more relaxed at 1 PM on a Sunday. pleasantly surprised and as Manhattan goes these days, prices were fair.
Just a few steps from Lincoln Center and a great choice for lunch or dinner before/after concerts, opera, ballet, etc.
Last time I ate at this restaurant was close to 5 years ago and that was next door at the Epiceriè, which was and probably still is tolerable. As far as the more formal Restaurant Boulud Sud goes, stay away and avoid at all costs. They advertise MP whole fish, which is the furtherest thing from the truth. It is a pre-cut frozen fillet, practically tastless with evidence of freezer burn all over the fish. The spagetti bottarga is lacking the bottarga and substituted with brocolli rabe with chili peppers and a generous dose of butter (WTF?). The only thing they got right was the tap water and a couple glasses of white wine. If you want to eat at a Daniel Boulud restaurant, go to the real thing over on 65th and Park Ave. Boulud Sud is yet another example of David piggy backing his name, creating a nice ambience with overly friendly staff, while they successfully pull-off serving and feeding you far below average food, that I bet any of you can beat fair and square cooking at home. Restaurant Boulud Sud would do a great service to the Lincoln Center, Upper West Side neighborhood if they packed it up and hit the road. You have been warned - Buyer beware!
