Sophisticated and charming
With perfect service
And a pleasant and varied, but modest menu
The pre theatre menu is a great value
Finally, and most importantly, the food is
We have a new favorite restaurant in the city. The food was excellent, the service was outstanding. Highly recommended for someone looking for inventive food of a high caliber.
Food was delicious and beautifully presented. Service impeccable and efficient. Lovely ambiance and decor. Will definitely be back and recommend to our friends back in Canada!
This is a beautiful restaurant with excellent service, great menu and food, and all-around comfort and style. It is what you think of when you have in mind fine dining in NYC. Very creative dishes prepared beautifully, along with an outstanding wine list. Great location right across the street from Lincoln Center. Boulud Sud is the fine dining restaurant which is adjacent to Bar Boulud which also serves food, but has a different menu.
We have eaten here many times since it is in the neighborhood and the overall experience is quite good. The food is excellent albeit expensive. The tables are not close together so there is a sense of privacy. The noise level is fine. It's really a nice place to dine. The service is just okay. It just to be more attentive; this time, I had to look around for a waiter at times but it did not diminish the experience. Definitely one of the best restaurants on the UWS.
Alejandro at the bar was the epitome of hospitality. The food was delicious but he really made the dining experience something extraordinary.
This is the first time we dined at Boulud Sud and we really enjoyed it. The place was very elegant. The food was great. I had the Steak and eggs and it was perfectly done. My husband had the Salmon and eggs and it was so good too. We had a few other things and they were so good too.
Service was first class. Drinks were always refilled. We never had to ask. They were always there. The food came in perfect timing.
This was truly an experience to be remembered. We will definitely be back.
Way too loud if you are in the 50+ crowd
Tables crammed together
Service is well meaning, but we had to be vigilant--indeed, aggressively vigilant -- to get out in time for the opera.
The service was very good, has a very nice atmosphere and and the restaurant is in a great location near Lincoln Center. But the food (limited to the prix fix menu at the time we were there) was not particularly memorable, except for the grapefruit givre for dessert.
Awesome restaurant. Great service. Excellent food!
Very good place for brunch.
The mushroom soup was tasty and I likely to be surpassed anywhere. The main course, steak and eggs, was excellent, but the portion could have been larger. The potatoes had a bit too much spice on them. The dessert which was three ice creams was superb.
The restaurant undercooked a chicken entre and it needed to be sent back. When we got the bill they had left both the old dish and the new one we ordered on the check. After an awkward flag down of the host, they removed it from the bill, but I was surprised they did not comp our coffee or send over a glass of wine considering the style and price point of the restaurant. It was nice, but drinks were about $10 a piece overpriced, bread was stale, and the service wasn’t spectacular. Very expensive.
Friendly and very attentive service. Fantastic food.
We had a wonderful time. Only complaint was we had to ask three times for more chips and they finally arrived after we finished the course.
A very good experience but did not live up to expectations. The dining room attractive and comfortable with an open kitchen and large staff. The food was excellent, however, the chicken tagine had excellent crisp skinned chicken, it does not, however, live up to the expectation one has for a Moroccan tagine. When we sat down, the waiter presented us with Pre Fix menus. The menus we viewed in the website were A La Carte menus. I asked the waiter for them and after some time and a discussion the waiter had with a floor manager, they finally came. Also, a server brought over to our table wine glasses and a bottle of wine. We had only ordered cocktails.
Reliable as ever! Convenient location, great food and service. Couldn’t ask for more.
It was a reunion with my brother, who has been sailing across the Pacific for 9 months. He was happier to see a Tagine than any fish on earth. And the crudo was exceptional
They get everything right; the staff, the food, the room. All near perfect.
I loved everything about it: my waitress, Liliaa was wonderful. The food was delicious at high NY prices, but service and quiet atmosphere was the best?
Lovely service and ambiance. Food is outstanding. Highly recommend for any occasion.
Best dining option close to Lincoln Center.
Food was solid but service was lacking.
I am always treated so well. Gracious, thoughtful service with excellent recommendations. Creative, delicious tastes. Never rushed. Always welcome.
I went on New Year’s Eve and found it Very disappointing considering the cost. Most of the food was lukewarm and uninspiring. I wouldn’t bother going again. I can’t think of one dish that was memorable other than maybe the lobster bisque but unfortunately that was almost cold. Perhaps it was because it was New Year’s Eve and very busy, I think I should’ve been more impressed than I was, but the music was good
Always wonderful and gracious service-terrific menus.
We went for the "pre-gala" seating on New Year's Eve and I am very ahhpy to say that we had a great experience. I am usually not interested in going out on big holiday or event nights because I feel that the usual quality of a good restaurant always suffers and the dining experience is never up to par. Boulud Sud really surprised me; the prix-fix options for each course were very well planned and conceived dishes, the service was on point, the sommelier was a fantastic, very pleasant young woman and most importantly, the food tasted GREAT. My lobster risotto followed by the Dover sole were fantastic and my husband very much enjoyed his pumpkin agnolotti followed by scallops. Everything was cooked perfectly and served at the correct temperature. we opted for the cheese course in place of dessert and it was a truffled brie. it was fantastic to finish off such a meal.
The one criticism I will bring is that on the bread plate served at the start, as the darker wheat bread was perfectly fresh and delicious, the slices of focaccia tasted mostly stale--like "yesterday's focaccia". Not sure how that slipped through. But it did not prevent us from having a great dining experience.
We love Boulud Sud and have been there many times. The food is great. The service is top notch. While we have been on normal evenings, they do a nice job on New Year's Eve. The pre fixe is very good and its a festive evening.
Always good !
Top ten. Rated among the best restaurants in the Upper West Side for a reason. Beautifully prepared and presented Mediterranean food, some dishes with a Middle Eastern influence (e.g., mezze, zaatar), served in a relaxed open dining room with impeccable service. Supper after 7:00 can be expensive, but prix fixe three-course supper, lunch, and brunch are available. Excellent wine list.
Love this restaurant!!!!! My new favorite!
Great food service and ambiance. Would come often!!
I enjoyed an evening with my wife, brother and sister-in-law. The food was excellent. The service was very good. The room is attractive. Plenty of great options on the pre fixe menu. Started with octopus salad (great flavors). Shared a pasta course with white truffles from Alba Italy (perfect). Selected Dover sole with almond and caper sauce for main course (delicious). Highly recommend this for a special dining experience.
Great dining experience. Courteous staff. Would not hesitate to recommend to friends.
Our waitress was superb. One of us had theater and she kept better tabs on the time and pacing of the meal than we did.
It was for my birthday. At first, I didn't know what to order because I was unfamiliar with menu. but the waiter helped me a lot and all dishes were delicious. Room was not too loud or quiet. We can actually have conversations without screaming. We enjoyed very much.
Amazing food and excellent service!
The best of NYC!
It always a lovely evening at Boulud Sud-- the staff is warm and engaging but professional, and the food is consistently delicious. The tagliatelle with chanterelles, rainbow trout, octopus, and (of course) grapefruit givré were still getting rave reviews the next morning from our party of 6. You can't go wrong at this restaurant (
Excellent service and amazing options food.
For me is number one in nyc!
Wonderful food. Wonder staff
