We asked if Moroccan chicken can be prepared just w/ dark meat. The waiter confirms w/ kitchen and said they will prepare it only w/ dark meat. When the food came out it was a ridiculously small portioned dish that they just omitted white meat and didn’t substitute it with dark meat.
They (waiter and manager) recognized the mistake from the kitchen and the manager offered me an option of just eating this small portioned meal and they won’t charge us for it which I said ok.
When the bill came out, they just took out $8 out of $35 for our chicken dish. I couldn’t believe how cheap they were and felt kind of deceived.
They tried to cover it by giving us a mediocre dessert that we didn’t need.
Pasta we ordered was very salty and when they remade it, it just looked like they poured water on it or something and tasted so bad.
Chilled asparagus soup was good!
Overall, bad experience and I won’t be coming back for sure.
Food was really outstanding. Each course we had was delicious and the wine selection was also really good. This place is expensive but I would say definitely worth the money!
Excellent food and service.
Could not have been better! The food is interesting and excellent. Service was lovely.
Terrific, as always. Our favorite restaurant on the Upper West Side. The food is inventive, the service is excellent, the tables are not too close together and there is no music playing! It is expensive but worth it particularly for an occasion or a business dinner.
A great choice for pre-theater. Only the prix-fixe menu is offered, and Boulud Sud is impeccable about making sure you have time to get to your performance.
The cuisine was healthy, well-prepared, not too much to eat (so we stayed awake). There's an excellent selection of wines by the glass.
And our busboy sported a knockout pair of eyeglasses!
The food is amazing. the cosmopolitan was the best I ever had. the service is great. the place is beautiful. just wonderful all around.
Server was very nice and friendly, but it took three requests to get a simple glass of ice. The side dish of broccoli rabe took two requests and arrived well after the pasta was already eaten. That it was removed from the bill did little to enhance the meal. The request for cream with the coffee was totally ignored and the coffees were finished before any desserts arrived. Nice try, but no cigar.
It was our daughter's second wedding anniversary. To say that the food was outstanding with some unusual combinations of tastes would be an understatement. Jonathan, the manager, made my daughter feel like royalty. A downside: each of us gained a few pounds since we were treated to many extra desserts. Also, our severe gluten allergy situation did not cause any reduction in excellence.
We had brunch outside on a beautiful June day. The food was slightly more expensive than your average Manhattan brunch but it was better and more creative than the usual fare.
Great variety in prix fixe menu. Food very tasty.
A great place celebrating my wife’s important milestone
The preparations were very good, except dessert, which was mediocre at best. It took a bit of attention to keep the wait staff focused on us, and we were delivered the wrong checked bag at the end of the meal. All in all, a bit of a disappointment for a member of Daniel's group.
We've twice been to Boulud Sud, and meals always surpass our already high expectations. The taramasalata can't be missed, and I highly recommend the restaurant's signature dessert, the grapefruit givre. Service was wonderful, and we especially enjoyed a swoonworthy 2005 Chablis, though the cocktails always give the excellent wine program a run for its money. Have both! :)
Fantastic experience. One of the best dining experiences I've had in recent memory. Great service, wonderful menu that accommodates vegetarian diet, quiet dining room.
Elegant, chic, high-end. All words that describe the sleek experience at this pricey bistro. We sat at bar where bartender treated us like family. Service is impeccable, any and all requests greeted with a smile. Very accommodating and comfortable environment. Not a cheap date.
Greeted and seated right on time. Service was attentive and professional with one hiccup in the middle when some of the staff seemed to think we were finished with our meal before our entrees were served. Food was outstanding. Salads, starters, entrees all first rate, creative, full of flavor. Pricey, but worth it.
Expensive but worth it. NOT a tourist trap like some of the other restaurants around Lincoln Center.
Everything about Bolud Sud was acceptable, but definitely not a stand-out among the many NYC choice restaurants.
It was nice.
Our waited asked that my companion order desert when we ordered as we had concert tickets and we would see to it that we left the restaurant on time. I noticed that ten minutes before curtain time that the waiter was nowhere insight. I had to alert another waiter for the bill. We dashed out of the restaurant to get to the Met in time. I must have left the receipt on the table. A server spilled the food on my plate while removing it and another server spilled the hot water on our table while serving the tea. The food was good but not outstanding. The prices of Boulud Sud far surpass the food. The service while polite, was poor on delivery.
Always top notch
This is a contemporary take on the elegant restaurants of yore. The room is beautiful in a soft, eclectic, casual but elegant way. The service is lovely--warm and attentive without being overly familiar or intrusive. The food is divine! It is light and flavorful and right size portions. And you MUST have the rose halvah dessert--truly an inspiration to the world
Went for the $65 prix fixe dinner before our Lincoln Center event, and it was worth every penny. Location is ideal, 1 block from venue. Service was unhurried, but professional and prompt. And each course - starter, main, and dessert - was excellent. Perfect start to an evening at Lincoln Center!
Third time here. Popular Lincoln Center spot. Stylish, crisp ambiance. Warm welcome. Tables well spaced. Food is a mixed bag .... this time: Asparagus soup, homemade penne with asparagus, sea bass main, grapefruit sorbet were excellent. Dorado was dry, pasty, and odd tasting. Rhubarb with coconut sorbet wasn't very good either, mostly coconut sorbet with rhubarb MIA. Service is always pleasant but seems harried and stressed. The good news is that they comp'ed cocktails because of disappointing meal. Cocktail and food service pace is way off ...... starter served while cocktail barely started. Probably good for a pre-LC cocktail but pass on dinner.
Great food. We had the pre-Theater Prix Fix. 3 wonderful courses. My dessert was a grapefruit sorbet with something wonderful on top. One of the best desserts ever. Service was excellent!!
Amazing food. So reasonable for a three course dinner.
Great post theater
Great pre theater dining experience
Wonderful food and amazingly efficient service before a Lincoln Center event
Great service. We had the price fixee. Appetizers were great. The salmon crudo was amazing. Entrees good but just good.
Exceptional food and service. Our waiter was very helpful, especially to the gluten intolerant member of our group. Lovely lighting and atmosphere, perfectly prepared food.
The service here is excellent, but every time I eat here I'm left thinking why did I spend so much money? The food is just not that special for the price.
Awesome overall but our waiter was not attentive and had to be waved down multiple times . Live this place anyways
Excellent lunch prixfix. Consistantly excellent food and service
The best of the best can’t think of one thing to complain about. Well, maybe the price. We savoured each morsel we put into our mouths. Condos to the chef
Food was delicious. My only complain was that we ordered a bottle of wine, and the waiter forgot to refill our glasses. Then we asked another waiter for some of our wine, and she forgot to tell our waiter, so we had to wait longer until he was available. It would be nice if she would have brought the bottle being that our waiter was busy.
Other than that, Excellent.
