The food was good but ridiculously overpriced. I ordered the lamb chop special and it was two very small and simple lamb chops with a small side of potatoes, and the price was $45. This is the worst example but in general this restaurant is unaffordable.
The food was excellent and the staff was very gracious. We loved it!
The food as always was excellent. Service was disjointed and very uneven. Waited 15 minutes to get a refil on a glass of wine which by the time it arrived, I was almost done with my entre.
We had the tasting menu which is chef’s choice. None of our party had allergies but one was pregnant which we didn’t think to mention. However one course was a ceviche and she could not eat raw fish. The dish was whisked away and another provided very quickly. Nicely done. This was the first tasting menu I have had where for some courses each person had a different dish. The food was fine, the sommelier helpful, the service smooth and all contributed to the celebration I had in mind.
When we booked the reservation, we didn't realize it was Pre-theater price fixe. The waitress was not accommodating at all. We asked to substitute dessert with a side vegetable, she said no, we asked for a different kind of bread, she said it was an up charge, we didn't mind paying the $65 price per person for dinner, however, she could have done something to accommodate us. The food is always great here. I won't go back during a price fixe menu. The service was also a bit unusual. At least 3 people came over to our table to interrupt our meal and ask how our appetizers were--That is too many interruptions to ask how my salad is--Very annoying meal .
Service was impeccable, food was flavorful, atmosphere was very pleasant.
Absolutely wonderful food and expert service. Every course was wonderful and the desserts spectacular.
The grillled octopus was amazing. The daurade a la plancha was ok, but nothing exceptional. The desserts were again amazing. Difficult to judge fully as we only had the one main course, other selections may have been better.
Treated like royalty.
Waiter needed more training. Said it was his first day, and it showed. Did not know how to handle a gift card. Served my granddaughter’s salad to me. Had to wait for mine.
Food was inventive but too spicy in some cases, such as my wife’s flatbread.
Very lovely restaurant. very upscale. valiant effort by Daniel.
Good service, good food
A wide range of menu choices with a distinct Mediterranean accent.
Very good presentations and delicious culinary experience.y
Well-prepared food but wildly overpriced and our obsequious waiter kept trying to up-sell us. Dinner for 2 with one drink, no dessert or coffee was $175.
Boulud Sud is a gem. Every morsel of the food was exquisite and beautifully presented. Would highly recommend this wonderful restaurant.
Fabulous food, wished we'd skipped the opera. Have been several times and will go again. Boulud produces consistently great food. Try Daniel and Cafe Boulud, amazing!
Lovely dining room, impeccable service, and always wonderful food!! A place to return to again and again.
Well priced except for dessert which is overpriced at $15
We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner, and highly recommend the Paëlla Sundays special. Delicious churros!
Out of this world octopus. Wonderfully flavored potatoes and vegetables. Great sophistication and subtlety in seasoning.
Comfortable, attractive room, very pleasant service.
We ordered the Sunday paella special. It was delicious --the tapas included octopus salad and falafal; the paella had shrimp, mussels, and chorizo; the dessert was churros with spiced chocolate sauce. The service was very attentive. They refilled water and bread throughout the meal. We really enjoyed the meal.
Great brunch menu with interesting choices
Anniversary- Came with friends. Ordered special lamb chops which were delicious but 2 baby lamb chops for about $45 was way too much. I’ve never been to a restaurant that served less then 3 chops and usually they are a decent size. This was just silly.
We typically love Boulud Sud so it was a surprise to us that last night's dinner was so disappointing. The inattentive service started us off on the wrong path and the food did not get us back on track. The octopus starter has always been one of my favorites but was served cold & the octopus was chewy & tasteless. The daurade was tasty but lukewarm. If I had to decide whether to recommend the restaurant based on last night's dinner, I would definitely say no. But as we've been fans of Boulud Sud for years, I'm going to believe this was simply an off night and try again.
Consistently good! Have enjoyed each visit. Excellent wine list.
Great location if going to Lincoln Center. Wonderful service and fantastic food although need to note small print extra charges not obvious on their pre-fixed menu.
Lovely room; excellent service; creative menu; delicious cocktails/wine. And no one else has the grapefruit givre dessert!😄
An attractive, comfortable space with friendly, efficient service
and very good food that is not the usual lunch or brunch fare
(although that is available).
Ideal for those attending Lincoln Center events. The servers
are aware of curtain times and space your courses to insure
a non-rushed meal while getting you out on time.
The creative menu and delicious food are amazing at Boloud Sud! We experienced excellent service until the restaurant got busy, and then the servers were overwhelmed and the quality of the service declined.
When we sat down for our 7:30 reservation our server asked if we had a time constraint and we said we had to be finished by 9 for a event. When by 8:40 our MAIN COURSE had not arrived we spoke to someone on the floor. THE MAIN COURSE DID NOT ARRIVE TO 8;45!!!!! While this has been a favorite in the past we will not be back. Glen Wood
Amazingly creative and tasty at every turn. Try the Boulud Sud Classic cocktail. So good. But the xtra 25$ for the Dover sole ... worth every cent. Excellent place to eat before the performance at Lincoln Center. Can’t wait to go back!
Food is a bit expensive but absolutely worth it. Try whatever strikes you. Seemingly unusual combinations wil be great. Old standbys - great. Cocktails - fabulous. Service is attentive but not intrusive. I go there on purpose if I’m entertaining a visitor and I go there by chance if I’m anywhere near it. So far I’ve only eaten outside because the weather has been so warm. Inside looks lovely and I’ll be in there when it’s cold.
It has everything you want in a serious restaurant. Fine atmosphere, good service, and thoughtful and diverse food selections which are excellently prepared. Great spot for a memorable meal and suitable for any or no occasion.
Service was rather awful: took a LONG time to be offered a drink. Then a LONG tome for the sommelier to appear. Then appetizers dropped before wine. Then rushed through appetizers and when mains were dropped (just after appetizers cleared) they were tepid if not cold (sides included), clearly the kitchen fired them too soon and should have refired them but didn’t. Wine was decanted, then removed from table (fine, common) only to reappear back in the bottle when a server came to refill our glasses, which utterly confused us. Never have I ever seen a bottle of wine returned to the bottle from which it was decanted. Glasses were overfilled by servers again and again. But water service stopped for a long stretch, only for someone to pour still into our glasses that had sparkling. Then check dropped before tea was delivered, only to be picked back up by a different server. The overall experience was helter skelter, no one seemed to care. We could never catch a server’s attention when we needed something but were asked again and again if the food was good when we did have what we needed. No one was watching or taking notice. The button on the end of the evening? Trying to leave, the host stand was empty and so no one present to retrieve our checked items. I’ve eaten at Boulder Sud before and had solid meals, but this was just terrible from top to bottom.
We continue to return to Boulud Sud pre-opera. Consistent excellence from the moment we arrive. The staff is expertly trained and the food is outstanding. Can't wait to return!
Our post Film Festival anniversary dinner was superb. Melt in your mouth, sparkling fresh crudo and Boulud’s delicious fish soup, served graciously by Tahir with two spoons made a perfect first course. Nicely spiced squid ink pasta and grilled to order Greek style lamb chops served as a wonderful second course. Although we were too dated to order desert, Tahir served a surprise of cakes and sorbet, both terrific!
Our favorite near LINCOLN Center Boulud Sud is one of the best restaurants in the city. Looking forward to our next visit.
Very good and extremely tasty food! The inventiveness of the chef is incredible.
The food was delicious but the portions are ridicuously small. We were not satisfied after our meals.
