Have never had a bad meal here. First time back since new Mediterranean menu and decor. Lots of great options. Appetizers, entrees, and desserts where Mediterranean based and excellent with a twist only Boulud can pull off. Service was great and personal.
We will be back again.
Great restaurant and surprisingly good Miami Spice menu.
We did the Miami Spice dinner deal for $39.00 for 3 courses, and was blown away with the quality and quantity of the food and service.
** If you plan on driving to the restaurant, make sure you Valet park at the property, and have the ticket validated so you'll only pay $8.00 instead of $30. I didn't know this, and parked at a nearby garage, and ended up paying $25 for only 2 hours of parking :(
We anticipated the spice palette we experienced at Daniel Bolud’s NYC restaurants. The food wasn’t quite up to that standard. The mezze and appetizers were very good. The chicken tagine lacked flavor and the couscous was mushy. Don’t let that dicosirage. The dishes are creative and can be truly delicious.
We loved our server. We sat at the bar. Daniel was our waiter. Service was impeccable. My friends and I are all service industry professionals. Great lunch experience
When asked we advised that the fish was a little salty. The table next to us also said the same thing. During our dessert, our server said he wanted to “make sure it wasn’t too salty”
We were surprised to see that the server did not even comp our non alcoholic drinks or attempt to consider our subpar meal at all. He also advised that the tip was already included making it impossible to tip what we actually thought was appropriate.
On the phone with the reservation we asked no salt for one person due to high blood pressure .
When we arrived we said same to the waiter and ask him to ask the Chef .
the food that came for me ( Hign blood pressure ) was very salty ... very very salty . I did not eat it .
Idid not want to make a big deal and did not ask for replacement , but did tell the waiter that they cutely did not cocky for me . The potatoes and brokenly are prepared in advance and they should of told me that it was already made with salt .
I think that the fact the the tips are charged in the bulls might be the reason that the service was so poor that did not attend to basic health request
Staff very professional, well trained! Attentive and concerned to make us feel cared without being overhelmed! Food was delicious! The spece is modern elegant, cozy. We had the octupus and the tuna crudo for appettizers, then the seared tuna and the branziano, esparagus and the chocolate volcano which was amazing! Pure dark chocolate!
It was a very night Sat night date! Hope to be back soon!
Maybe set expectations too high...very loud dining room, extremely small table, served red wine in white wine glasses. Not the dining experience that we anticipated. Food was good - not remarkable overall. Appetizers nicely dressed, fresh ingredients, good flavor profiles. Tagine ok- Again, based upon Mr Boulud's reputation, was expecting amazing, but only received good.
Attentive waitstaff (numerous! Always walking around with hands cupped in front or held behind back - strange!) a bit eager. Can you please not ask if "we are still working on" our plates? Instead, a little more refined "may I take your plate or are you done?" would be much more welcomed/appreciated. Hopefully never have to "work" on a delicious meal!!
From the minute we entered to the time we departed, the service was above and beyond. The host brought a small table for my purse to sit on while we dined, and being careful never to lean over me or across the table. The sommelier was very knowledgeable and provided two recommendations, one on champagne and another on wine. Both were exceptional. The food was of high quality and unique preparation. Our server was extremely attentive and provided the perfect amount of interaction with us. Truly a lovely experience all around, I highly recommend. The ambiance was perfect for a date where we wanted to be able to talk but also have an atmosphere of open space with other people around.
I love the place. I love the food. Very unfortunate no one tells you they include service on your tab.
They really thinks everybody who dined in Miami is a tourist.
Too bad. Last time I come.
Great flavors Great atmosphere. Awesome.
Beautiful place, wonderful menu, great food and service
From the hostess to the server to the som to the manager, every one and everything including the food made the night , one of our finest dining experience in Miami
Excellent food, service and ambient. Johnan(?) Was an expectipnal good waiter.
This excellent restaurant has a menu of dishes inspired by the coastal regions of France, Italy, Spain, Turkey, Morocco and beyond. Situated in the JW Marriott Marquis and across the street from the newly opened Silverstar Theatres, Boulud Sud is conveniently located within walking distance of American Airlines Arena, the Perez Art Museum, City Center shopping, and all that Downtown Miami has to offer. The owner, is a star in the kitchen, Daniel Boulud, a French chef and restaurateur with restaurants in New York City, Boston, Washington DC, Palm Beach, Miami, Toronto, Montréal, London, and Singapore. He is best known for Daniel, his eponymous, Michelin 2-star restaurant in New York City. A highly reccomend going to boiled sud miami, you won't be disappointed.
The food and service were outstanding. It is great to have Boulud in South Florida, and be able to enjoy this French restauranteur close here. The place does not have a lot of tables but the service is outstanding. The Manager on the sales floor was French and all the people from the hostess to the server were just great. The food and wine were the best!
This meal was a letdown. The restaurant itself is beautiful, and the service was excellent. That being said, the food was just average. The artichoke appetizer was the best part; we did not care for the kale fattoush salad. As for the entrees, we ordered the salmon and the branzino, both of which were aggressively spiced and undercooked, and pretty small portions for the price. The gnocchi verde and mushrooms accompanying the salmon was absolutely flavorless. The asparagus was extremely salty, while the broccoli rabe was almost inedible as it was extremely salty. The patatas bravas were fine, but nothing special. Overall it’s a nice restaurant but for the prices I would have expected an exquisite meal, and this fell short.
After several successful visits to DB Bistro, we decided to try chef Daniel Boulud’s new “Boulud Sud” last night. Same JW Marriott location. Great and varied middle eastern/Mediterranean inspired menu, amazing desserts. but above everything, the service. From Leah the mgr, the chef to the rest of the crew, super attentive and concern about our experience.
Thanks for a great evening.
I love Boulud Sud New York City and decided to try it in Miami. We ordered from the Miami Spice menu, great appetizer, delicious Branzino, not in love with the dessert. Very good service.
The service was wonderful. I made reservations for 4 at 830. We arrived early and they seated us promptly. 2 of us tried the Miami spice menu and the men opted for the regular menu. My grilled skirt steak was magnificent. Perfect temperature and perfect flavor. My niece had the yellow fin tuna, however we never saw the tuna. We later realized it was chopped finely into the spaghetti sauce which was disappointing. The menu did not give any indication of that. The spaghetti and sauce were tasty just not worth the $40. My husband had the lamb and it was again perfection. My niece finance had the filet mignon and that was yummy just extremely small for a grown man. Dessert was very good nothing to rave or complain about. Our cocktails were in point A+ . Overall we had a great time and great food.
Outstanding restaurant. Unique menu with great service.
Excellent but very noisy
It is always a joy. We did Miami Spice and all items were off the regular menu. No funny business. One time under its prior iteration we had a large table and the service was spotty to poor. Without even a complaint the restaurant comped the entire table because as management said: " the service was not up to our standards." Find that in Miami!
Great Miami Spice lunch offering. Loved the décor.
Once again, outstanding all around dining. Every dish we ordered w/o exception had excellent flavor. And they continue to feature Miami Spice menus, but you can order additional items if you wish. Branzino is outstanding, gazpacho was excellent, and the appetizers (hummus & a salmon roe dip) were incredibly tasty. We finished w a chocolate fondant & a tiramisu. Both very good. And the service is always excellent from the greeters at the front to the servers. This is our second time in about 3 weeks and it is becoming one of our favorite restaurants in downtown Miami.
Decent food. A bit loud. Nice service.
Food was phenomenal, service was amazing, will visit again no doubt!
Most elegant restaurant, flawless service, wonderfully executed meals. Thank you for a memorable evening!
Very good restaurant, enjoyed the Miami Spice menu very much.
We had a great dinner at the Chef Daniel Boulud restaurant. Perfect portions with beautiful presentation and great taste. Appetizers are between $10 and $25. Mains about $24-$36. Great value considering the attention to detail and the variety of flavors. Our server was very knowledgeable and friendly. This is a great spot to eat before heading to a movie at the new theater in Downtown. I recommend to start with a specialty cocktail in the lounge before heading to the dinning room. Great experience, we will return soon.
The ambience, service and food were outstanding. Sophisticated hot spot in a ultra cool hotel!
What a beautiful dinner at Boulud Sud! The product and dishes where fresh, flavorful, tasty and well seasoned. Jean-Paul took great care of us with his professional and friendly attitude. Can’t wait to go back
Some plates outstanding, some terrible. Excellent service, but the quality of some items out of the kitchen is simply unacceptable. We were served a Ratatouille that was evidently not fresh and poorly prepared.
Service was very good and professional. Our waiter, Gabriel, was extremely pleasant and courteous. His recommendation for wine was excellent for our meal. Had a super time. Had already experienced Boulud in NY at Lincoln Center, and all I can say is that the level of quality of food and service is outstanding across the board. Will definitely recommend to my friends. Thank you!
Good fooding good good good good good good for taste the original food
It has the potential to be a great place to eat! The main reason my score is so low is because the food was SO salty. We noticed there were no salt and pepper shakers on our table and then we understood why, because you would never need to add salt. Portion size was good. We went for Spice week and the food was pretty good.
The best Miami Spice menu in Miami and the servers recommend it. This was cuisine not just dinner. I can say enough good things about Boulud Sud. Served a nice anniversary plate of madeleines inscribed in chocolate and no singing and jumping up and down.
My wife has been trying to go to Boulud for a while. We finally made it and it’s one of the best restaurants we’ve experienced. From the door to the table & dinner the service was outstanding. Very creative menu. Excellent cocktail choices. We tried the Frose (a Rose wine freeze). Wine list is also very good. And of course the food was as good as any we’ve had. Mostly Mediterranean choices but also several choices. One of the food gems in Miami & also participated in Spice Miami changing that menu every two weeks. We can’t wait to go back.
