Went there for an anniversary celebration , I was casually but nicely dressed ( nice sneakers ) . I was surprised the way the hostess greeted us ( as if we were not dressed elegantly enough for the restaurant ) and looked at me up and down while taking us to our table . The food was highly priced , very small portions . Not worth it .
Great. Beautiful place and food is excellent.
Food was delicious and our waiter was super friendly. Only complaint would be that the portions of food were super small esp considering the very high prices.
Great thanksgiving dinner in a perfect atmosphere, i will come back for sure
Salad, truffle risotto, and desserts
Were excellent. Thanksgiving turkey was so bland and tasteless that it was not edible. Stuffing and Brussels sprouts were over cooked and mushy texture. Branzino was not well seasoned, vegetables were over cooked.
Not a good restaurant for fixed menu choices.
Better than most in miami due to very good food and service. However as is the case throughout miami, the average decor, very loud rooms and extremely high prices (especially for wine) are huge negatives and prevent a top ranking.
Once again, the food at Boulud did not disappoint. It’s creative, tasty Mediterranean cuisine that’s always exceptional. We did the cauliflower tabbouleh salads with chicken and steak, respectively, and both had the hummus as the appetizer on the business lunch. The portions are good enough to fill you up, but not overwhelming. The staff is very polite, and the food comes out quickly. We were in and out for lunch in under an hour. Definitely a repeat lunch spot in downtown Miami.
We had the pleasure of having dinner at Boulud Sud during our weekend stay at JW Marriot Marquis. We had an absolutely phenomenal dining experience that will most definitely have us coming back with friends and share the experience again. The food obviously was fantastic, the available beverages/wine/liquor were perfect, and the staff/servers were outstanding! There is absolutely nothing negative that I have to say about our dining experience from start to finish. We will most definitely be returning.
Second visit and I am very impressed. Price wise, it’s very reasonable for the quality of the product. Seems to be little known in Miami, but not for long.
Solid Boulud experience. At the level of NYC Bar Boulud or Boulud Sud.
Always spot on, technique in the kitchen is flawless, madeleines, pan-tomate for example, are fresh, succulent and really well executed. IMHO it’s in the simple things that you find out if a restaurant is spot on or not. Fresh and quality ingredient always stand out for themselves.
Cheeses are incredible as well.
Will we go back? Of course
Was it a great experience? Service was below par in this visit but we will certainly come back.
Will we recommend it? Of course.
I got to select the restaurant for a recent work team trip/dinner. For a table of 8, we received excellent service. Our food was amazing and the staff had great recommendations. I would recommend for a date night, a nice dinner, or a business meal. I got the veal pasta and our table share the octopus app and fried ravioli. The ravioli was too dry for me but the octopus made up for it! I also got the Cat's Pajamas drink which was fantastic. Thanks!
Outstanding service, wonderful combinations make for a delicious meal. We had the tasting menu composed of several small bites, an entree of choosing from the menu and a tasting of three desserts. Coupled with an expansive and not “over the top” wine list, this is destination to return to again and again.
Wonderful service and great tasting food, never disappoints!
Outstanding food. Seasonal crab claws were amazingly fresh. Idea - consider offering gelato by the scoop a la carte. Baklava gelato was unique!
Food generally very good, a little too much heat in ratatouille served with Tuna steak but all else very good. Much improved since last time I went.
Not sure what this venue is trying to be. Bartender not equipped to service this market fir diners. Indifferent to any request. Repeatedly missed request. Didn’t provide or ask if menu was needed when was seated for “dinner at bar”. No bread, water after repeated request, waited for drinks and wine, however several parties of women received very personable attention.... Waited over 30 min for wine and dessert and finally went to hostess to pay bill- only comment was “how was food...”. this restaurant doesn’t really want to hear any constructive comments. Note: had great service earlier the sane day fir lunch.... won’t be back during stay and will head out somewhere mid accommodating.
A great place,
We enjoyed the affordable Miami Spice menu which was excellent.
The only downside is that the second dining area (in the back of restaurant) hosts large round table for groups and we were between two extra-noisy tables, our neighbors never talked, just yelled...
Was the 3rd anniversary of our arrival in Miami (we relocated from abroad) and we received a surprise birdhday cake (mini madeleines) which were simply gorgeous.
We went here for our birthdays and had an amazing experience. The service and the food were exemplary.
First things first. I have eaten at Daniel in New York before and at DB Bistro Moderne (which was the previous incarnation of this restaurant)). I expected great food (of course) at prices to match. I was pleasantly surprised that the food was still amazing but the prices were more reasonable. The appetizers averaged up to $16 and the main courses went up to $36.
My wife and son ate off of the Miami Spice me u and I went a la carte. We practically licked the plates clean. The food was fresh, delicately seasoned, and the flavors came right through. The branzino was outstanding. The taramasalata (Greek fish dip) was so delicate and smooth but so flavorful. The desserts were delicious.
The service from our greeting to the bar to our supper was outstanding. We were constantly being checked upon to make sure everything g lived up to our expectations. It did! Thank you for an amazing dinner. We will be back. Soon.
Pricey but delicious and very attentive. The staff always make you feel like a VIP and the wine selection is impressive with bottles that are very affordable as to not scare you away.
First time but it will not be the last. Fantastic dishes, great variety and authentic flavors.
Mediocre at best. Not what I would expect from Boulud.
Have never had a bad meal here. First time back since new Mediterranean menu and decor. Lots of great options. Appetizers, entrees, and desserts where Mediterranean based and excellent with a twist only Boulud can pull off. Service was great and personal.
We will be back again.
Excellent upscale, inventive food. Service is on the spot. A bit loud at times due to the way the rooms are built
Great restaurant and surprisingly good Miami Spice menu.
We did the Miami Spice dinner deal for $39.00 for 3 courses, and was blown away with the quality and quantity of the food and service.
** If you plan on driving to the restaurant, make sure you Valet park at the property, and have the ticket validated so you'll only pay $8.00 instead of $30. I didn't know this, and parked at a nearby garage, and ended up paying $25 for only 2 hours of parking :(
We anticipated the spice palette we experienced at Daniel Bolud’s NYC restaurants. The food wasn’t quite up to that standard. The mezze and appetizers were very good. The chicken tagine lacked flavor and the couscous was mushy. Don’t let that dicosirage. The dishes are creative and can be truly delicious.
We loved our server. We sat at the bar. Daniel was our waiter. Service was impeccable. My friends and I are all service industry professionals. Great lunch experience
When asked we advised that the fish was a little salty. The table next to us also said the same thing. During our dessert, our server said he wanted to “make sure it wasn’t too salty”
We were surprised to see that the server did not even comp our non alcoholic drinks or attempt to consider our subpar meal at all. He also advised that the tip was already included making it impossible to tip what we actually thought was appropriate.
On the phone with the reservation we asked no salt for one person due to high blood pressure .
When we arrived we said same to the waiter and ask him to ask the Chef .
the food that came for me ( Hign blood pressure ) was very salty ... very very salty . I did not eat it .
Idid not want to make a big deal and did not ask for replacement , but did tell the waiter that they cutely did not cocky for me . The potatoes and brokenly are prepared in advance and they should of told me that it was already made with salt .
I think that the fact the the tips are charged in the bulls might be the reason that the service was so poor that did not attend to basic health request
Staff very professional, well trained! Attentive and concerned to make us feel cared without being overhelmed! Food was delicious! The spece is modern elegant, cozy. We had the octupus and the tuna crudo for appettizers, then the seared tuna and the branziano, esparagus and the chocolate volcano which was amazing! Pure dark chocolate!
It was a very night Sat night date! Hope to be back soon!
From the minute we entered to the time we departed, the service was above and beyond. The host brought a small table for my purse to sit on while we dined, and being careful never to lean over me or across the table. The sommelier was very knowledgeable and provided two recommendations, one on champagne and another on wine. Both were exceptional. The food was of high quality and unique preparation. Our server was extremely attentive and provided the perfect amount of interaction with us. Truly a lovely experience all around, I highly recommend. The ambiance was perfect for a date where we wanted to be able to talk but also have an atmosphere of open space with other people around.
Maybe set expectations too high...very loud dining room, extremely small table, served red wine in white wine glasses. Not the dining experience that we anticipated. Food was good - not remarkable overall. Appetizers nicely dressed, fresh ingredients, good flavor profiles. Tagine ok- Again, based upon Mr Boulud's reputation, was expecting amazing, but only received good.
Attentive waitstaff (numerous! Always walking around with hands cupped in front or held behind back - strange!) a bit eager. Can you please not ask if "we are still working on" our plates? Instead, a little more refined "may I take your plate or are you done?" would be much more welcomed/appreciated. Hopefully never have to "work" on a delicious meal!!
I love the place. I love the food. Very unfortunate no one tells you they include service on your tab.
They really thinks everybody who dined in Miami is a tourist.
Too bad. Last time I come.
Great flavors Great atmosphere. Awesome.
Beautiful place, wonderful menu, great food and service
From the hostess to the server to the som to the manager, every one and everything including the food made the night , one of our finest dining experience in Miami
Excellent food, service and ambient. Johnan(?) Was an expectipnal good waiter.
This excellent restaurant has a menu of dishes inspired by the coastal regions of France, Italy, Spain, Turkey, Morocco and beyond. Situated in the JW Marriott Marquis and across the street from the newly opened Silverstar Theatres, Boulud Sud is conveniently located within walking distance of American Airlines Arena, the Perez Art Museum, City Center shopping, and all that Downtown Miami has to offer. The owner, is a star in the kitchen, Daniel Boulud, a French chef and restaurateur with restaurants in New York City, Boston, Washington DC, Palm Beach, Miami, Toronto, Montréal, London, and Singapore. He is best known for Daniel, his eponymous, Michelin 2-star restaurant in New York City. A highly reccomend going to boiled sud miami, you won't be disappointed.
The food and service were outstanding. It is great to have Boulud in South Florida, and be able to enjoy this French restauranteur close here. The place does not have a lot of tables but the service is outstanding. The Manager on the sales floor was French and all the people from the hostess to the server were just great. The food and wine were the best!
This meal was a letdown. The restaurant itself is beautiful, and the service was excellent. That being said, the food was just average. The artichoke appetizer was the best part; we did not care for the kale fattoush salad. As for the entrees, we ordered the salmon and the branzino, both of which were aggressively spiced and undercooked, and pretty small portions for the price. The gnocchi verde and mushrooms accompanying the salmon was absolutely flavorless. The asparagus was extremely salty, while the broccoli rabe was almost inedible as it was extremely salty. The patatas bravas were fine, but nothing special. Overall it’s a nice restaurant but for the prices I would have expected an exquisite meal, and this fell short.
