Overrated; not impressed at all. Took 1 1/2 hours to get car out of valet because it was parked at a different building 2 blocks from JW Marriot. When we went to complain about how long it was taking to get our vehicle out of valet, the front desk‘s response was “well valet usually cost $45 and you only paid $15.” Are you kidding me?! You get part of your valet comped when you eat dinner at the restaurant. That was not the proper answer! We will not be returning to this place ever again! Don’t waste your time here because there are plenty of other places in Miami to eat and that offer a much better experience.
Excellent!! Wonderful service and amazing food
Great food, excellent service! Friendly staff, highly recommended!
Daniel Boulud does it again! Fantastic food from sunny lands of the Mediterranean, all done with Chef Boulud's passion to detail and execution . Bravo Boulud!
Wonderful service. Would recommend this restaurant to anyone. Its my favorite!!
This restaurant was featured on a lot of foodie lists as a “must try,” but I’m wondering if that was just bc it’s a DB restaurant—did they actually eat here?
Food was so absolutely mediocre (if that) and flavorless, and the space is super stuffy and lame. I’m so disappointed that I wasted a dinner here.
The only thing this place has going for it is the staff, who were all wonderful.
We had eaten at DB Moderne before and were expecting something special . Some of the dishes were spot on and others need some work. We particularly liked the fried artichoke and lamb flatbread appetizers. The salad was weeds , not that appealing. The main coarse of skirt steak was on the rough side and we did not care for the spinach dish . We did like the cauliflower dish . In fact the appetizers were better than the main course . Very imaginative . We tried three desserts as is our custom and the pear crepe boule and the madeleines were very good . Our waiter was attentive and knew his menu .
Impeccable Service, great food, heavenly deserts. If the
lights were a little dimmer and the atmosphere a bit more intimate - it would have been perfection
Excellent main course menu.
Chicken Tagine is very similar to original Tunisia/Moroccan recipe.
Linguini Sepia 👌🏼
Special note for desserts: grapefruit givré & chocolate cube with Baklava Ice cream are a must try! Extraordinary quality
Great attention by the manager that night.
Good wine selection
Unfortunately we did not have a great experience at the restaurant. The manager was awesome, but the food was only mediocre and the wait staff (and they were plentiful) were no where to be found. Once our main course was delivered no one came to ask how we enjoyed. We shared this with the manager and he was quite upset with the lack of attention of his staff and advised us he would speak to them once we left. Considering the Boulud restaurant in Toronto is excellent, we expected the same from this new establishment. This was not the case.
Awesome restaurant. Everything and everyone was simply perfect. Go!
Valet park for free at the JW Marriott. Restaurant is inside.
The food was fantastic. The service was impeccable. Chef Clark is knocking it out of the park with this one!!
Service was excellent
Restaurant is well designed and lovely
Food was not as good as the service
Very sad because we went with high expectations. Mediterranean food are supposed to have vibrant smells and taste. I really did not receive this impression, quite the opposite, very bland and neutral. From appetizer to main course our waiter went missing in action. Thanks to the festive and beautiful setting it was desmissed, but then we realized tips are included in the bill. We hope the chef owner will be more present for future clients because Miami has much better options.
I have had the pleasure of eating at over 1,000 top restaurants in the US and abroad. This was one of the top 10 experiences of my lifetime. From the excellent service to the most amazing and knowledgeable sommelier, to a great general manager, everyone was the most professional I have ever worked with in the restaurant business.
Now, to the food. The best food for the money I have ever had, period. We started with a brilliant Spanish wine. We had The Mezze (Spicy Moroccan Hummus, Babaganoush, Herb Falafel, and the special Red Pepper Dip.) Out of this world! The artichokes were brilliant and the Terrine de Campagne Provencale was the star of an amazing show!
We will go back again and we look forward to exploring more! Why this was not the most packed restaurant in Miami, especially for the great prices, I have no idea!
Very refined food. Good selection both of food and wine. Professional service.
Grateful for a lovely evening, attentive service and delicious food.
WAy to noisy. Service and kitchen were uneven at best
Loved the food & our waiter was very attentive. Unfortunately, not the same level of service at the bar :(
Love the new Bouloud experience! We liked DB Bistro, but it was more of a special occasion place. The Sud concept is better all around, from the new design, to the fresher menu. We had a fantastic meal, from appetizer to desert. Great and well priced wine list for Miami. We live nearby, so will be back more often to try other menu items. The branzino and osso buco were fantastic. Also the artichoke appetizer. Chef Daniel, thanks for changing this up!!
Good food, good concept,
Service need improvement
Small dining area very noisy
Big dining area need to warmer and more painting
What can I say, Boulud Sud never disappoints. It is now our go to restaurant we love it so much. The food is excellent and we have tried most dishes on the menu. The service can’t be faulted. In short, it’s brilliant!
Not worth the money, Food was mediocre at best. Save your money go elsewhere! Dined there two nights , they just couldn’t get it right either time.
really overrated.. nothing special about it..
Valentine’s Day. Service was slow. Food was very good
Special Menu this night was very good and provided very interesting options and wine pairing. Despite the very busy evening , they managed to provide a Very good experience!
The cuisine was next level amazing and the wait staff was courteous and helpful. 10/10 would dine again.
I'm sorry to have to write this as I know and love Daniel. Maybe a makeup call is needed. The lobster was over cooked. The timing was awful. The wine pairings were timed all wrong; some times 10 minutes before the food and some times 10 minutes after. For example the dessert came and it took 15 minutes for the wine pairing to come so we just ate the dessert. All in it was just terrible. Service, food, timing, everything was off. What a shame that such an amazing chef is judged by the last thing her serves.
Great Ambiance, however the Risotto was a bit bland, the lamb was definitely not seasoned correctly, salad was drenched in dressing, not very appetizing. I felt the service was OK but I ordered a cappuccino and it never arrived. The best part of the night was the desert. good desert. Probably would not go here again, I wasn't completely pleased.
Service was not very good. Wine got to our table as we were about to have our entrees, server forgot our amuse bouche although we asked 3 times. Finally brought it out after entrees. Had trouble getting a hold of him the whole night except when it Came time for the check. We finished dessert and he immediately dropped the check although we were not finished with our bottle of wine. Food was mediocre at best.
For a top chef, the meal disappointed. Of course it was good, but I expected more.
The high noise level and the freezing temperatures really took away from a Boulud experience!! The back room we were seated in had a very cold, boring feel to it-not the warm Mediterranean feel we expected.
Also, very difficult to find!
This is a renovation of the old DB Bistro! The food is no longer french but, more Mediterranean, Middle Eastern, and some Italian all mixed in! I can't say I'm wowed by the need design, not that there was anything particularly wrong just not exciting We were showered with attention by the Maitre d, who explained all the in's and out's of the new menu, making suggestions along the way! All very nice, but then no waiter came by for a good 20 minutes?? Then, they got some of our order wrong, but the food was actually very good. My husband's pasta appetizer, the orecchiette, was delicious, our Mezze platter was outstanding! The Lamb chops were okay, the Skirt Steak which I shared with a friend was flavorful but cold. All in all, we really liked the food but, the service was very uneven, which I hope they smooth out as they settle in!
My 6th Baloud in 2 months. I’m addicted. Food is fabulous and the service is unmatched.
The food was excellent and the new remodelled decor stunning. The staff at DB Sud was very friendly and knowledgeable. We enjoyed dinner was excellent wine pairings at each course. We plan to return often ! The attached lounge was spacious but cozy too.
We had been to Daniel Boulard's DBModern several times, always enjoyed. We wanted to try the new evolution and it is outstanding. Excellent in all ways. Our server Gabriel and manager Christoph made excellent selections and were appropriately attentive, on time, and knowledgeable.....and fun. We had the octopus, heirloom tomatoes, Bronzino, and chicken tanginess, all were excellent. We usually do not have dessert but he selections looked great so we tried the chocolate cube and ice cream and enjoyed these very very much. We will be back
The food was wonderful and the staff was outstanding. Our waiter, Johanan, went above and beyond in every way possible. Highly recommend this restaurant.
The food was great, on the “smallish” side, but delicious! Service was the killer, our waiter Ricardo made sure we were having a good time, asking about our likes, making suggestions/recommendations, would definitely recommend
I had eaten at the old DB Bistro and wasn't that impressed so was hesitant to try his new restaurant. I am glad we did as this place wasn't pretentious French food. It was authentic, delicious food with a Mediterranean flair. Chef Daniel Boulud has done a great job with this restaurant. The prices are reasonable and not out of line with any other quality restaurant in the Miami area. We had artichoke and short rib appetizers and they were delicious and different. Main course we had the lamb chops from the grill and the chicken tagine which were both tender and very flavorful. We had wine and cocktails as well as a dessert and coffee. The chocolate fondant dessert was exquisite, light yet rich. Perfect end to a wonderful dinner. Will definitely be back. Our waiter was very knowledgeable and fun, not like the stuffy waiter we had when we went to DB several years back. Many of the wait staff are from the original DB but seem to have adapted a light attitude to accompany the food. Highly recommend this place
