Worked great. Business meal. Not too loud so we could talk. Food was tasty - fresh pasta worth it. Charming servers. Good wine list though not much at value prices. Glad we went!
Honestly I almost never leave reviews
I was a chef for 25 years, and owned my own restaurants and know how tough the business are and how a bad review often is just not fair.
We went down to Miami for 6 weeks.
Before arriving I created a list of everywhere we wanted to eat and we ate out EVERY night. From the very best to foodie hole in the wall places.
This was our worst meal. The male french manager was SO BAD, its amazing he's got a job there when we came to our table he lent over and put one hand on each corner and stood over us and joked with us in French (we had friends in from Paris, who were AMAZED and one told him how bad out meal was)
Food lacked at EVERY STAGE. some dishes didn't come.
We asked for the check and waited and waited and left after leaving most the dishes and went to Le Petite Maison which was great.
Wonderful experience from start to finish. Grilled octopus was a fantastic way to begin the meal, and the Greek cab Christoff suggested was unexpected and delightful. We both loved our entrees and devoured dessert. Our server Gabriel was incredibly knowledgeable and well-paced through our meal. As noted, the manager & sommelier Christoff was a wonderful host.
The restaurant was good but not great. The food was quite good but the space was lacking in personality--your typical garishly decorated Marriott lobby feel. It would be quite worthwhile if you are staying in the hotel or in the neighborhood--good food, good service, convenient--but I'm not sure I would bother returning given all the compelling choices in Miami. Again, everything they did was fine, i.e. food and service, but it just didn't have any energy (at least at 7:00-8:00). I applaud them for having good food at a J.W.Marriott.
DB Bistro was a miami favorite. Not sure why it was changed to Bolud Sud, but it’s a very disappointing change. Won’t be going back.
The service was superb. The restaurant is beautiful and the food was delicious.
Overall the experience was very good. At the beginning the service was a little bit slow. But then it got much better. I guess the waitstaff are listening to our conversation about the service. So they are listening and are willing to provide you a good dining experience , so for me that’s a plus. The food was very good. My ossobucco was delicious and so is my partner’s steak. The flat bread was excellent. The cocktails are divine. Thanks for a very good evening.
Truly spectacular; from the moment you arrive until your very last bite, an exquisite experience. There was nothing on that menu we didn’t want to try, and everything we ordered was delicious: the mezze, the flatbreads, the tagines, ossobucco, the branzino, all the sides... all to die for. And the service is excellent, they don’t miss a beat! Super nice, prompt but never rushed. Just great. We are definitely going back!!!
This is such a great revision to the original
DBModerne concept. Menu creative. Something for everyone . Service great. Grapefruit granite was a special desert.
Fantastic food and top notch service. Try the Mezze!!
It was fabulous from start to finish. The food exquisite! Everything was cooked to perfection and the tastes from each dish was so, so good. I can’t say enough. Looking forward to going back. Will definitely recommend to friends.
Excellent food and service to match. No detail overlooked. Will be back!
Food is excellent, as is the service. We thoroughly enjoyed the entire experience. The host/hostess, wait staff and everyone involved were friendly, efficient and professional.
I love the new decor and the menus was also fresh and new. The service was impeccable as always.
Boulud Sud is a great new addition to the Miami food scene, with a Mediterranean menu enhanced by local ingredients. Our server Rafael was exceptional, dancing that fine line between friendly and intruding, and always with a smile. The entire staff demonstrated a warm, energized, sincere hospitality. They're rightfully proud of their new venture as everyone was smiling. Food has layers and flavors with wonderful ingredients and beautiful presentation. Hanuah knows her wines and takes delight in introducing her favorites to you. I'd let her choose my wines every time! Although I didn't go in, the bar was packed and lively but didn't look so crowded that you'd be five deep trying to get a drink. It was clearly the place to be on a Saturday night in Miami. Some minor wrinkles to be worked out with a new restaurant but a clear five-star experience. Well done and good luck, Boulud Sud! I look forward to my return.
This a different Bouloud I think this time they really tried to have a good restaurant in Miami
My group absolutely loved it! - As the coordinator this makes me look good. Win, win
It is not often that I take time to write a review, but this newly opened Mediterranean restaurant deserves acclaim. It is a balanced blend between coastal French, Moroccan, Spain, and Italian cooking with whimsical presentation. The entire staff was prompt, knowledgeable, and detail oriented. The flavors were multi layered without being heavy or burdened, which made every dish feel fresh and healthy. The sommelier is a joy and very helpful. The overall experience was wonderful.
The food was superb. Servings were just the right size for having an appetizer, the main meal and a dessert. The flavors were excellent. Our server was so friendly and accommodating. We would definitely go back again.
Went 2 weeks ago for soft opening and was a "10". This time food not as good. The artichokes, which last time were to die for, this time were greasy and chewy (and kind of gross). The hummus platter was boring. The shrimp on bread was bland. The salad with grapefruit and avocado was OK. The pumpkin agnolotti was pretty good but EXTREMELY rich (best to eat one or two and share the rest. Osso Bucco was perfect and different.
Service and ambience quite nice. Good change from the old restaurant.
Tried the new Mediterranean menu and thought the food was well cooked and tasty.
Wonderful in every way! Lots of good menu choices, great services, delicious food.
I was sad when db Bistro closed but this is a fine replacement.
The new menu of the restaurant that used to be called dB Bistro Moderne is bigger and gives more choices. The food, which is basically French Mediterranean, including some with a Moroccan taste, is delicious and creative. The service, as always, is superb. My friend and I shared a number of smaller dishes. The ones I liked best were the carrot volute and the pate with romaine lettuce leaves topped with varied delicious garnishes in a delicious dressing. The restaurant’s menu is very similar to the restaurant of the same name across Broadway from Lincoln Center.
We truly enjoyed dining at Boulud Sud. So much so, that we visited twice while on a brief getaway in Miami! The food, service, and setting were all exceptional. The menu is inventive and balanced, and we enjoyed a variety of different dishes, resulting in a very individualized dining experience. Both times!
The entire staff is highly professional, attentive, and very welcoming. Our server on both occasions was Jovana, and she helped us work our way through the many great choices on the menu, and she offered some excellent recommendations. Christoph, the general manager, is a very engaging and hospitable host.
Thank you, everyone at Boulud Sud, for a great addition to our trip.
The food was amazing and the service was excellent
What a missed opportunity by "Uber Chef" Boulud. A fresh start in 2018 with a concept (Mediterranean Taps) that is 10 years past its saturation in South Florida. We definitely need to give Chef Boulud credit for being the first of the "Top 10" chefs to stake his claim to Miami, but from the outset his Miami location and concept have always been weak. (In comparison to his NYC and Palm Beach restaurants) What could have been a monumental moment in the Miami dining scene turned out to be a huge disappointment. Watching him walk around his restaurant with his perfectly pressed white chef's outfit left me with a sense of "disconnect" on his part as to what this very matured Miami dining scene is desperately in need of. There is always the third time around......
Just amazing !!!!!!!!
Great New Menu. Top Notch service. Cozy ambience.
Huge disappointment. Very low level of food.
A great addition to the Boulud universe, now in Miami. A good replica of the same named restaurant in New York, but with a larger dining area and more open decor. Everything about the menu, including the nice wine list, is interesting and works in various combination. The service, for a restaurant open only 2 days when we dined, is exceptional with courteous staff and frequent visits to the table with updates or asking for feedback. Most notable was the desserts; we tried three and received the warm Madeleine without charge. There is much to recommend for this location. Only two issues were that it was hard to find (partly due to construction around and the change in the name of the hotel where the restaurant is based, from Epic to JW Marriott). Hope to visit again soon to see how the maturation is taking shape.
Everything was extraordinary. We had the short rib ravioli for an appetizer and it as delicious. For dinner I had the grilled chicken and my hiusvamd had
Opening day... The appetizers were good. Then it took forever for the meal to come... Main courses were too simple and bad taste. Chef Bolud should go to the restaurant and cook. Just adding a surname to it won’t work...
Great food, marvelous service. We were thrilled that Boulud Sud opened in time for us to enjoy. The exquisite flavors we associate with Boulud’s kitchens were enhanced by the focus on Mediterranean influences and were appropriate for the international Miami scene. The entire staff made us feel like old friends come home to share their latest adventure, especially Ricardo.
Great new menu. Terrific service. Wonderful greeting. It’s our go to restaurant. Would recommend lowering the music a bit. Can we ask for a tablecloth? Thanks for bringing the old staff back. They r a great asset to the organization.
Amazing, we loved it. We thought we would miss DB Bistro which was a favorite of ours but Boulud Sud just WOW’d us. Love the new decor, bar area more vibrant and the food was soooooo good - every bite was better than the last. It’s a new favorite of ours for sure.
