Boulud Sud Miami Ratings and Reviews
The new menu of the restaurant that used to be called dB Bistro Moderne is bigger and gives more choices. The food, which is basically French Mediterranean, including some with a Moroccan taste, is delicious and creative. The service, as always, is superb. My friend and I shared a number of smaller dishes. The ones I liked best were the carrot volute and the pate with romaine lettuce leaves topped with varied delicious garnishes in a delicious dressing. The restaurant’s menu is very similar to the restaurant of the same name across Broadway from Lincoln Center.
What a missed opportunity by "Uber Chef" Boulud. A fresh start in 2018 with a concept (Mediterranean Taps) that is 10 years past its saturation in South Florida. We definitely need to give Chef Boulud credit for being the first of the "Top 10" chefs to stake his claim to Miami, but from the outset his Miami location and concept have always been weak. (In comparison to his NYC and Palm Beach restaurants) What could have been a monumental moment in the Miami dining scene turned out to be a huge disappointment. Watching him walk around his restaurant with his perfectly pressed white chef's outfit left me with a sense of "disconnect" on his part as to what this very matured Miami dining scene is desperately in need of. There is always the third time around......
A great addition to the Boulud universe, now in Miami. A good replica of the same named restaurant in New York, but with a larger dining area and more open decor. Everything about the menu, including the nice wine list, is interesting and works in various combination. The service, for a restaurant open only 2 days when we dined, is exceptional with courteous staff and frequent visits to the table with updates or asking for feedback. Most notable was the desserts; we tried three and received the warm Madeleine without charge. There is much to recommend for this location. Only two issues were that it was hard to find (partly due to construction around and the change in the name of the hotel where the restaurant is based, from Epic to JW Marriott). Hope to visit again soon to see how the maturation is taking shape.
Great food, marvelous service. We were thrilled that Boulud Sud opened in time for us to enjoy. The exquisite flavors we associate with Boulud’s kitchens were enhanced by the focus on Mediterranean influences and were appropriate for the international Miami scene. The entire staff made us feel like old friends come home to share their latest adventure, especially Ricardo.
Great new menu. Terrific service. Wonderful greeting. It’s our go to restaurant. Would recommend lowering the music a bit. Can we ask for a tablecloth? Thanks for bringing the old staff back. They r a great asset to the organization.
