Not a great brunch experience. The food was bland, not seasoned well, and the poached eggs were very undercooked. Fries were soggy, weren't crispy. Omelette was a bit overcooked and flavorless. Nice surroundings, but had no music so it was a little depressing
Excellent a real gem , should not be missed , unassuming where taste and style go hand in hand and engage all your senses ...
While we were in NYC, we went regularly to Daniel's at 60 E 65th St which is owned and run by French celebrity chef Daniel Boulud. We had not been to his Miami Boulud South at the JW Marriott. We went today for brunch, and found it is nothing like its NY relative. What we had was good, but not what we expected from a Michelin starred chef. At one thirty they had run out of Eggs Benedict. And when I asked for a ham and cheese omelet, I was told they did not have ham, so I had a cheese omelet. One cannot order from their Lunch menu as we were told it is not available until 3 PM! Dinner is served from 6 PM. Staff was polite and apologized. I hope they get their act together, as the name "Daniel Boulud" means a lot in the culinary world.
Muy buen servicio
Unfortunately, the restaurant has gone downhill. The original (beautiful) restaurant area is only open for breakfast and lunch; dinner is in the large bar area where three televisions are playing on the wall. The food and prices are too upscale for a sports bar. Also, although the restaurant was pretty empty, the chef sent out my “medium” lamb chop practically raw. (And I’m generally fine with rare but this was well beyond rare.). The server was very nice.
We used to enjoy going to this restaurant and happily took visiting friends there to show off a nice Miami restaurant. Those days are over.
Our second dinning experience here was very enjoyable. Food was consistently delicious and staff went above and beyond providing great service. One of our good memories from Miami.
The food & service was amazing!
The grilled swordfish is a must try. It was an enjoyable and relaxing dinner for us after a long travel day.
Everything great, we loved the food! The service was great
Great food and service. Would return
Preferred the old DBModerne restaurant room (Boulud Sud occupies the former bar area) but the service and food were just as good as ever.
Middle of the road hotel brunch... not what I expected from a Boulud’s restaurant. Underwhelming and uninspired food. I have been to Sud, Daniel, Cafe and DBGB in NYC in the past and they were a consistent distinctive experiences. I believe if DB would visit this location, he would be disappointed as well.
Very nice location / ambiance and food.
I guess I was expecting more, but this restaurant was so disappointing. The food was okay but certainly not great. Our server was not able to understand us due to a language barrier. There were TVs in the area airing female wrestling which seemed a bit odd. Really just disappointing. I’ve been to the Boulud Sud at other locations and had a much better experience.
Heads up - service charge of 18% is added to your check. This is the standard in Miami now.
Daniel’s restaurants never disappoint. Beautifully executed and presented, delicious! Thank you!
Went for Mother’s Day and could not be more disappointed. Do not bring your mother for a special occasion. It took 45 min just for someone to look at us let alone get some water. An easy 2.5 hour lunch lasted over 4 hours. Missing plates constantly, someone from our party was left to watch as others ate. This is unacceptable. The food was decent but the service was a disappointment. Tables got up and left due to the lack of service. Spend your money somewhere else.
First off they didn’t even have our reservation in the system, although they did seat us after much confusion. Once seated, we waited about a half hour just to see a menu and that was only after we had to ask for them again. The staff was clearly overwhelmed and not up to par with other Boulud restaurant experiences we’ve had. The food was completely underwhelming, the Mother’s Day brunch would’ve been better had at a diner. Also charging $45 per child and serving frozen chicken fingers and fries is completely outrageous.
Food was fantastic never disappoints I eat there 2x a week . Great service bartender is great as well . Gets my vote for best restaurant in downtown area .!
A wonderful and delicious tour of the Mediterranean, with a twist of perfection!
Great lunch date with my wife!
As a New Yorker, I chose to go to Boulud for a unique meal. I was very disappointed on the level and quality of this dinner. Nothing was up to the name of Boulud. Starting with the bread being hard and warm (microwaved). The lemon pasta was just an oily pasta with lemon, terrible. The worst was my fish. I love swordfish and I only order it in a very good restaurant because it is hard to get it fresh. It was completely over cooked to the point that the texture was like chicken and not like a nice piece of fresh swordfish. The smell was also not the best. Honestly Boulud should remove his name on this location.
Yo iria a otro lugar para comer, no vale la pena como restaurante.
Waiter made so many mistakes on order wasn’t even funny
Order s drinks— a for effort c for results
For such a limited menu everything should be exquisite
The staff recommended the tagine that had nothing to do with a tagine and the chicken was flavorless and dry !!!
The only high points were the fatoush and the mezze
Desserts mediocre — madelaines not warm enough blueberry coulis very disappointing
Can’t say I would rush to go back unless I would here the food improved shame because the restaurant is beautiful
Our party was seated in the wine room which accommodates 6. Great selection of wines. Simple menu with all expected items, octopus, ravine, mezze etc. couple of pasta items were ok but the standout were the lamb and Branzino. Overall a great evening with friends. Highly recommended.
Lovely dinner experience! The dinner selection is exquisite and the service is exceptional.
Wonderful meal. A welcome addition to Miami.
Excelent experience. The lamb Tagine simply great.
Food was very good. The service was super rushed. The waiter could not describe the differences between different offerings. We specifically asked for the food to be brought in stages so we could have a relaxed dinner. Instead appetizers and entrees all came at once along with the cocktails 😱. Buloud is a great chef and his name is much more elevated than this type experience. Disappointing to say the least. The TV’s over the bar have to go. Screams Sports Bar.
Great food and ambiance! They have a huge selection of wines.
Fantastic host Brest bartenders and service food was perfect .
Excellent food. Our prawn starter was the best food we have had in Miami. Main courses were excellent too. Must try destination for food lovers.
A service experience so condescending and demeaning, I'll never return. Not even for the excellent food.
Yes, it was that bad.
Couldn't get a waiter assigned to our table. Food was served cold and not coordinated (for example we didn't even have plates). the grilled food came out tasty but cold and to add insult to injury served on a cold plate. they claim they validate parking, still had to pay $12 plus tip. Literally had 4 people come to our table over the meal, no ownership and i blame mandatory and pooled tips. this place was near empty, cold and two of three people caught a cold from it
Beautiful restaurant! The food was delicious, loved the arabian flatbread (wish more falafel was included) and my Shashuka for Sunday brunch was delicious! The service was extremely slow as the restaurant was not too busy. I think there were only 2 servers. My bottomless drinks seemed alcohol free. I'll give it another try as I'm a local. Nice background music.
We love coming here. The food, service, and ambiance is always exceptional. One of my top two favorite restaurants in Miami.
This time we ordered the lamb shank and snapper en papillote along with the special of the night which was risotto.
Can’t wait for our next visit.
The food was amazing but small selection of dishes for the brunch. The Price reasonable but not the best. The atmosphere was excellent. Overall we love it
The service was friendly but not very attentive or professional. The staff needs training to justify being employed in a nice restaurant. Everything from forgetting requests for water, to not knowing what was on the cocktail menu, to reaching across customers to serve or to take plates away happened to us. The staff were friendly and trying but obviously management hasn’t trained them. Despite this level of service an 18% service charge was added automatically, even for a party of 2 without being mentioned and then the bill came and had the blank open for Tip as if more was warranted. As for the food, it was very inconsistent. We both had lamb shanks and one was seasoned great and fell off the bone, the other we got couldn’t be cut off the bone and it was just blah. This was definitely not somewhere I would recommend based on the inconsistency relative to the price.
Negatives, I didn’t like being seated in the back room. I have dietary restrictions and even though it was the day after Valentine’s Day it was still only offering the Valentine’s Day menu which was quite limited.
Positives, We were able to work something out with something on the regular menu that they made for me special. Chef Boulud always delivers, I have eaten at his restaurants in New York. Food, service, ambience all very good.
Only valentines menu was available without warning. Food was uneven. The tuna crudo, burratini salad and fennel salad were all great. As were the entrees. But the desserts were very disappointing. Particularly the grapefruit option which was a jumbled mess of grapefruit sorbet, real grapefruit, gummy like candies and a cream. My guest left hers untouched. My husband didn’t have a GF option except sorbet with then was served w cookies.
The worst part was service. They need a lot more training. Extremely slow throughout despite the price fix menu. He would just disappear for long periods. And despite numerous reminders regarding gluten free needs the staff kept contaminating gf options with gluten ingredients like cookies. Quite disappointing. Diluting the Boulud brand.
