We visited Boulud because it was across the street from the hotel where we were staying on a stormy Monday night. It was very quiet but the service was excellent and we had some delicious food. My husband started with the fish chowder followed by the skirt steak and I had the scallops. Dinner was followed by a wonderful light dessert of pears, caramel ice cream and pomegranates. Just the right amount of sweet to end the meal. Oh and a delicious bottle of wine that we had first tasted in Italy last summer. All in all our favorite meal in Miami!
Great Excellent food
Original menu served in an elegant setting. Excellent lunch choices. The chocolate dessert is a must. You will not be disappointed.
We were disapointed with the cuisine , we have bern to other Boulud restaurants it our exprrience with the food was better .
The Branzino had only one piece of filet , and the grains with it were heavy
Happy hour menu on Tuesday has a distinct Morrocan flavor. Food is well prepared with fresh ingredients. Service was friendly and responsive. Greek wines were good quality. Overall, a fine happy hour experience.
Had an early dinner. Shared a few small bites & then a very delicious pasta dish with lamb. Too full for dessert.
Waiter was very professional, friendly & helpful.
Good quality food. Would definitely go back there. A little pricey tho
Delicious Mediterranean spot. The place is really nice too and has a great cellar.
Service was great, also I booked my reservation mentioning that it was a birthday occasion and that was enough for them to bring a candle along with dessert.
Excellent food , service with a Boulud flair . Just wonderful . And those madeleines.....
Amazing and spectacular experience! Food was outstanding and up to par as I was expecting and I am extremely happy that my business guest truly enjoyed first dining experience at one of Chef Daniel Boulud restaurants. I am particularly happy with a flow of service, entire staff and managers who made us feel like a royalty. I can not wait to come back.
Great food and service. First time for breakfast here.
I went for breakfast because there is no other option at the JW Marriott Marquis Miami to have a complete breakfast. Food was very tasty and very well presented but way way over priced . A service of eggs does not include toast and they charge 4.00 for a toast 4.00 and change for coffee and 18.00 dollars for two eggs with sausage ! I won’t be coming back for sure .
Had not been since it was DB Bistro Miami. Pleasant to see some of the staff members are still there with the same if not better excellent quality of service ambience and food. It was a special occasion with a friend of mine who is a regular at the Daniel Boloud restaurants in New York. The Somali I was particularly helpful and deserves extra commendation. I will be coming back soon
Made an open table reservation for 5:00. Told by unhelpful hostess that restaurant doesn't open until 6:00. Ate in bar area. Food barely adequate. Grit in cauliflower couscous. Cold patatas bravas sent back. Surrounded by fratty happy hour crowd. Lame....
First time dining here. Love mediterranean food, and the menu did not disappoint. Everything we had was great, especially the crispy zucchini! The only thing I was not a fan of was the wheatberry salad that went with the branzino. It tasted fine, we just don't eat much wheat and I would've preferred a rice dish or potato option as the accompaniment. We did have the cauliflower tabouleh and it was fantastic! Would go back :)
I had a reservation through open table for 11:00. Was informed they are closed at that time.
VERY nice restaurant. The only way In & Out is Valet Parking @ JW Marriott Marquis which was a deplorable, disgusting experience! Shameful !!
Food was outstanding. We sat outside. Was windy so we were alone. So no noise! Excellent service, very comfortable, very reasonably priced. Wine list expensive, but they didn't push the expensive ones. Recommended an alternative to what we picked and it was terrific. Perhaps the best meal we had in Miami.
Went for brunch, usually the least interesting menu, but here it was very interesting. Good wine list and very knowing waiter. A good experience!
Horrible service. When you have to go get the waitress after ordering a $100+bottle of wine-unacceptable.
Don’t do it! Terrible experience ! Didn’t get seated till 35 min after our reservation. Service slow, and service level more on par of a sub par not fine dining restaurant . Love The Boulud Restaurants, but this was all around bad. Manager paid us little to no attention, even after knowing what could go wrong was going wrong. The waiter had to many tables and was not able to give us the attention you would expect in a a place of this quality.
Then the food finally game - entrees we’re not hot, food very ok, flavors ok. The men at the table left hungry and looking forward to going home for snacks . Oh yeah and then after being at able for 2 hours yikes, the manager sends us free deserts after we asked for check.
Daniel Boulud should be embarrassed. With so many good choices in Miami, don’t do it!!!! You will be sorry if you do.
Mediocre service and meal. Sat outside for a business dinner, and I had to flag a server down for service. The meal took over and hour to arrive and was incredibly mediocre. Will absolutely not return. Terrible value for the amount of money charged.
This restaurant is in the perfect location if you are going to the James L. Knight Center. It is across the street. The best thing about this restaurant is the food is amazing. The wine selections were excellent. Desert was just the right size. The restaurant is pricey, but worth every dime. It is so good, that we are going back in a couple of weeks to enjoy another pre-concert dinner.
The food and service was excellent! We were seated in the dining area on Valentine’s Day but didn’t want to order from the Valentine’s menu. Our waiter said that was no problem and served us happily! We really appreciated it!
The menu was very unbalanced, very few options and almost the half of them required extra payment. Too much tables, little space. The waiters were very kind and diligent. Really pricy, there is no reasonable value/price relation. It wasn't the valentine's day that we were expecting.
The food and service was very good, but the confusion before the meal was very distasteful. They decided to do a pre-fixe dinner for Valentine's day. It would have been nice to let me know before. It was not posted on their web page. I choose to order off the bar menu, but there were no dedicated tables for bar seating. Only when I started to leave, did I get a table (there were over eight unreserved tables, which were purportedly only for the pre fixe meal. Getting my car afterwards took twenty minutes. I do not think I shall rush back, even for good food.
Diner beware - auto gratuity.
We had a nice dinner meal here prior to going on a cruise. This is our second visit. Small bites well prepared. Service was a little rushed (one item ate and next one immediately there). Didn’t care for the rush between each course and it wasn’t as if we were holding up a table. What concerned me the most was when the bill came. An auto gratuity was added of 18-20%. And we were only two people! If it was on the menu that they had this charge I sure didn’t see it. I’m not eating at the French Laundry where I can expect it. Of course the line for an additional tip is on the receipt. I will bet that many people don’t see this and overtip. In this day and age, adding an auto gratuity just isn’t right for a small group (especially two people).
THe chorizo flat bread was on the cool side but okay, but the shrimp ajillo was excellent. Flavorful shrimp with a delicious sauce. The lamb ragu orecchiette pasta was the highlight of the meal and we did it as an appetizer. Also excellent was the octopus a la plancha. A delicious sauce and perfectly cooked octopus there were great textures in each bite. The skirt steak is always excellent with some nice brocolli rabe on the side. The wine list is good with lots of selections geographically. We had a nice Emeritus Pinot Noir from California which was excellent.
Everything about Boulud Sud is perfect. The Service impeccable, the food divine and the ambiance and decor is understated elegance.
The food is excellent - repeated a second night after such a great meal. Don't miss ordering the crispy zucchini on the appetizer menu!
Comically bad and amateurish service.
Waiter did not know specials; did not serve wine on time; did not clear appetizers before mains were served. Yet he had an aggressive, bad, pretentious attitude.
Needs to go to waiter school!
The food and ambience were exceptional. A definite must if your in the Biscayne area.
After an excellent meal we had to deal with the unpleasantness of the Valet not finding our car for 35 minutes making us late for a concert. They had an army of people working but inefficient none the less.
Good and enjoyed
Food unusual &delicious Service terrific ....in all a wonderful experience
For years my favorite restaurant in Miami either as it former iteration as DB Bistro Moderne or now as Boulud South. But this time something was off in the kitchen. I hope next time it be my favorite again.
Outstanding food. Perfect service!
One of my favorite in Mia
We had a lunch reservation on a typical business day. Service was spotty from the start. We had to keep looking for the server to bring basic table items. The appetizer arrived after our entrees, so we asked them to take it back. And we had to keep reminding them we were not on a leisurely schedule and needed to keep things moving so we could be done within a reasonable business lunch timeframe. Maybe it’s a better experience for dinner, but I wasn’t impressed for a business lunch.
The food and service were outstanding. The ambiance was very agreeable and we could have a fun conversation without having to screan.
Some things excellent, others not so much. Been to other Daniel restaurants. This doesn't measure up. Recommended artichoke appetizer is fried crispy with no taste except fried. Very good: squash soup & Setus con Huevos. Branzino very dry. Beautiful room. Excellent staff and service.
Great food, service was wonderful!!
