Went for brunch, usually the least interesting menu, but here it was very interesting. Good wine list and very knowing waiter. A good experience!
Horrible service. When you have to go get the waitress after ordering a $100+bottle of wine-unacceptable.
Don’t do it! Terrible experience ! Didn’t get seated till 35 min after our reservation. Service slow, and service level more on par of a sub par not fine dining restaurant . Love The Boulud Restaurants, but this was all around bad. Manager paid us little to no attention, even after knowing what could go wrong was going wrong. The waiter had to many tables and was not able to give us the attention you would expect in a a place of this quality.
Then the food finally game - entrees we’re not hot, food very ok, flavors ok. The men at the table left hungry and looking forward to going home for snacks . Oh yeah and then after being at able for 2 hours yikes, the manager sends us free deserts after we asked for check.
Daniel Boulud should be embarrassed. With so many good choices in Miami, don’t do it!!!! You will be sorry if you do.
Mediocre service and meal. Sat outside for a business dinner, and I had to flag a server down for service. The meal took over and hour to arrive and was incredibly mediocre. Will absolutely not return. Terrible value for the amount of money charged.
This restaurant is in the perfect location if you are going to the James L. Knight Center. It is across the street. The best thing about this restaurant is the food is amazing. The wine selections were excellent. Desert was just the right size. The restaurant is pricey, but worth every dime. It is so good, that we are going back in a couple of weeks to enjoy another pre-concert dinner.
The menu was very unbalanced, very few options and almost the half of them required extra payment. Too much tables, little space. The waiters were very kind and diligent. Really pricy, there is no reasonable value/price relation. It wasn't the valentine's day that we were expecting.
The food and service was very good, but the confusion before the meal was very distasteful. They decided to do a pre-fixe dinner for Valentine's day. It would have been nice to let me know before. It was not posted on their web page. I choose to order off the bar menu, but there were no dedicated tables for bar seating. Only when I started to leave, did I get a table (there were over eight unreserved tables, which were purportedly only for the pre fixe meal. Getting my car afterwards took twenty minutes. I do not think I shall rush back, even for good food.
Diner beware - auto gratuity.
We had a nice dinner meal here prior to going on a cruise. This is our second visit. Small bites well prepared. Service was a little rushed (one item ate and next one immediately there). Didn’t care for the rush between each course and it wasn’t as if we were holding up a table. What concerned me the most was when the bill came. An auto gratuity was added of 18-20%. And we were only two people! If it was on the menu that they had this charge I sure didn’t see it. I’m not eating at the French Laundry where I can expect it. Of course the line for an additional tip is on the receipt. I will bet that many people don’t see this and overtip. In this day and age, adding an auto gratuity just isn’t right for a small group (especially two people).
THe chorizo flat bread was on the cool side but okay, but the shrimp ajillo was excellent. Flavorful shrimp with a delicious sauce. The lamb ragu orecchiette pasta was the highlight of the meal and we did it as an appetizer. Also excellent was the octopus a la plancha. A delicious sauce and perfectly cooked octopus there were great textures in each bite. The skirt steak is always excellent with some nice brocolli rabe on the side. The wine list is good with lots of selections geographically. We had a nice Emeritus Pinot Noir from California which was excellent.
Everything about Boulud Sud is perfect. The Service impeccable, the food divine and the ambiance and decor is understated elegance.
The food is excellent - repeated a second night after such a great meal. Don't miss ordering the crispy zucchini on the appetizer menu!
Comically bad and amateurish service.
Waiter did not know specials; did not serve wine on time; did not clear appetizers before mains were served. Yet he had an aggressive, bad, pretentious attitude.
Needs to go to waiter school!
The food and ambience were exceptional. A definite must if your in the Biscayne area.
After an excellent meal we had to deal with the unpleasantness of the Valet not finding our car for 35 minutes making us late for a concert. They had an army of people working but inefficient none the less.
Good and enjoyed
Food unusual &delicious Service terrific ....in all a wonderful experience
For years my favorite restaurant in Miami either as it former iteration as DB Bistro Moderne or now as Boulud South. But this time something was off in the kitchen. I hope next time it be my favorite again.
Outstanding food. Perfect service!
One of my favorite in Mia
We had a lunch reservation on a typical business day. Service was spotty from the start. We had to keep looking for the server to bring basic table items. The appetizer arrived after our entrees, so we asked them to take it back. And we had to keep reminding them we were not on a leisurely schedule and needed to keep things moving so we could be done within a reasonable business lunch timeframe. Maybe it’s a better experience for dinner, but I wasn’t impressed for a business lunch.
The food and service were outstanding. The ambiance was very agreeable and we could have a fun conversation without having to screan.
Some things excellent, others not so much. Been to other Daniel restaurants. This doesn't measure up. Recommended artichoke appetizer is fried crispy with no taste except fried. Very good: squash soup & Setus con Huevos. Branzino very dry. Beautiful room. Excellent staff and service.
Great food, service was wonderful!!
This was an exceptional meal! So many great choices on the menu, it was hard to choose. Everything we had was unique and presented beautifully. The service was terrific and management checked in a few times, even sent a complimentary dessert. We will definitely return with friends.
Went for a friends birthday and we sat in the wine room. We had the crispy zucchini, lamb flatbread, artichokes, octopus and Greek salad to start....all were amazing...stand out was the crispy zucchini (we had to order a second one! For dinner we had the salmon, filet, charasco and pumpkin pasta dish. All were spectacular!!! Service was amazing as well! Daniel Boulud restaurants are awesome!!! Always great food and service! So great I will be having my sons rehearsal dinner here!
Mr a Boulud never disappoints, excellent Mediterranean concept at a great price in Brickell - Miami. Great food, wine selection and service. Highly recommended it.
The restaurant is very nicely decorated and the ambience is lovely. The problem was first and foremost the service. It was extremely slow from our appetizer we waited over 45 minutes for the main dishes to arrive and considering they were both chicken it was a long wait. I had the tagine which was bland lacking in those wonderful Moroccan spices it was a bit like grilled chicken on some couscous. The other dish Chicken Bahrat was slightly more flavorful. Patas bravas were pretty good. Cocktails on the other hand were delicious. All in all disappointing we won’t go again.
Excellent restaurant specially because has different ethnic foods, beautiful decorations and excellent costumer service
I was on the last day of the year, although I was late, they respected my reservation, and when I arrived midnight, the cotillion was incredible. I'm sorry I stayed so little time.
It was a funny experience.. We ordered seafood platter and it somehow came out half portion.. Then food runner brought a wrong order to us which was complementary of course.. My order of three dips came out 2/3 wrong but didn't want to say anything as it took almost 30 mins to get them.. And finally, 30 minutes after leaving the restaurant, I received an email from OpenTable telling me I have missed my reservation.. Nothing really ruined our night or something but if the owner who is a chief with Michelin Star restaurants would saw our experience, he would probably just close the restaurant.. Hope they start doing better and stop acting like amateurs
New Years Eve!
The food and service was excellent BUT for $250 pp they should not permit the place to be like a kindergarten !!!
Everywhere noisy babies that ran round the tables
At the end no coupon given for the met3 parking so we had to pay $25 instead of $8 promissed through the side
I think they must refund the $17 to my card asap
In fairness this was a fixed price wine paired New Years Eve dinner. The meal was ok at best. Salad to entree time was 50 minutes. Wines were fine but uninspired (Sicilian and Greek), Two 4oz pours for $55.
Overall a long, expensive, average meal. If you are going to charge a lot I would expect more.
OMG Daniel should be embarrassed to put his name on such a product I know if I was somebody that work hard to create that I would not be happy with what people are doing under my name food-wise
We went on 31st of December. The website was not clear on the fact there was a set menu for USD 85 pp. The confirmation email was, including the warning you can cancel for USD 50 pp.
When we arrived we were wearing smart casual, our son (10 yrs old) was not. We were asked to wait and were observed by two people from a distance before being sent to a table (prebooked, bar side), out of sight for others. The starters we wanted were not available, so my wife had to choose something else. We have starters and got the entrees. Okay, lamb was good but rest was dry and tasteless. We have asked for the winecard, but did not get. Complained when someone finally got availablee. Received one on the House. Waiting for desert took quite a long time. In the end were told that services charge was 18 and added. Policies of the hotel.
I explained that I was not at all impressed about the experience, received about service charge discount.
Lady (don't know her name, black long hair apologized many times, nice) tried to explain.
Will not come back, will tell others to avoid.
We are a friendly family, would have appreciated a no go when arriving.my money was good enough to accept in the end.
Service was fantastic from making the reservation to saying the final goodbye! The food was awesome and I wish I had more!
Awesome crafted cocktails, food was ok. Mushroom risotto special and the shrimp appetizer was amazing, definitely a must try!! Pumpkin Agnolotti was deliciously paired with a sage sauce. Perfectly cooked skirt steak.
The restaurant is beautifully decorated & could not have asked for better service! Would definitely recommend. Perfect for groups, special occasions, date night or just a girls/ friends night out!
Everything was oversalted, restaurant felt like the hotel lobby it is in., overall only the service carries over from the NYC original.
Pleasantly surprised by one of the BEST restaurants in Miami
Food is just ok, not great. Risotto was definitely undercooked. Pricey.
Have dined in NY’s Daniel but this place was horrible.
Only things decent were things they couldn’t screw up like stone crab and oysters. The oysters were also incorrectly shucked.
Save your money and go somewhere better like La Mar at The Mandarin.
Over priced, food not the best but ambiance is nice
