After several years in Dallas, Boulevardier still has it.
The menu doesn't have a lot of changes and at times I wish they would expand it with just a few more options, but even so, the food remains consistently great.
I took my parents to Boulevardier for their 35th anniversary dinner because I was counting on them being just as good as they were for my birthday this past summer 2019. I wanted a place that felt inviting, energetic/alive, a bit elegant but not over the top - and Boulevardier was all of the above.
We valet parked next door, which is not free and is not exclusive to Boulevardier, but is convenient.
We had a reservation and were seated immediately. Our server was a little stretched but ended up being highly attentive and kind and once he knew it was their anniversary, he brought us a round of complimentary champagne to toast. It as extremely kind of them.
The restaurant has got a little loud with voices in a good way at peak dinner hours. It's the kind of sound you should hear from a busy restaurant that's doing well. The music was a little drowned out but when I did hear it, it was good stuff (Bowie, Depeche Mode, Beatles).
The lighting was dim and gave the whole place a nice warmth.
We started with a bottle of Cabernet, Route Stock Napa Valley '16 per our server's reco and it was great. I'll be looking for it on my own now.
The crawfish beignets are still good.
We then ordered the Wild Boar Ragout Pappardelle and 3 specials. I had trout in a miso broth that had mushrooms and different veggies. It was light and different and overall good. Wild Boar bolognese was also solid. The real star by surprise was the Coq Au Vin chicken dish, a special off the menu. Somehow they managed to get the skin crispy but the meat was still juicy and tender enough to fall off the bone. It made me wish I had ordered that instead too. Don't sleep on a chicken dish in a French restaurant!
I still really like this place. Go!
This establishment is FIRST-RATE - excellent food, wonderful wine list. Perfect date night destination. My girlfriend and I celebrated her birthday at Boulevardier (also the 'scene' of our first date) and it was so, SO perfect. Special treats: glasses of champagne and a birthday candle on her dessert plate. Made me look golden :). Thank you, Boulevardier. Gentlemen: Take... her (or him)... there... now! Total score!!
Always a safe bet. The pork chop is incredible. As is the burger. Nice warm inviting atmosphere. Genuine and nice servers.
Never disappointed. Staff are friendly and welcoming; they are truly glad to see us. Food is French with healthy options and delicious. With specially procured cocktails and an extensive and exciting wine selection, Boulevardier is one of our favorite Dallas go to’s. Bishop Arts district is still growing and has so much to offer pre and post dinner too which makes your day or evening an experience to be savored.
Excellent food! Everything was very fresh, full of flavor, and thoughtfully paired. They have the best Sazeracs too!
Enjoyed with my friend a wonderful mean at Boulevardier. The service was attentive without being cloying, and the waiter was very well versed in the wine. Both my prime ribeye and my friend's scallops were well prepared and flavorful. In all, a very enjoyable outing at Boulevardier. I will be returning.
We experienced the most enjoyable dinner we've had in a long time. One of the very best! Can't think of anything that was negative about the entire experience. Our server, Kristen, was absolutely one of the very best in any restaurant ever! We all agreed (and two of us were in the service industry) that she was excellent in every way!!! The atmosphere, the food, the ambience, the service was ALL excellent, we can't wait to go back!!! +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Our server was absolutely fantastic. Amazing recommendations, great personality, and on point with everything. I believe here name was Christine or Caroline? Sorry, I had a few old fashions, having a hard time placing the name. The food was great, the atmosphere is great, but really the service is what made this place so special. We met our friends to celebrate our anniversary, and this dinner was the highlight of our weekend. Thank you so much!
Good service and cute atmosphere. Staff was very friendly. Great location! Easy to park and walk to other places after dinner or drinks. We thought the food was okay. Most of the flavor profiles were mediocre. Nothing outstanding. We had the bone marrow, lamb chops, brussel sprouts, steak frites, and french onion soup. Not sure I would recommend or return for anything other than drinks lite bites.
Amazing Staff, wonderful food. I had the pork chop, wife had the chicken. Excellent taste and presentation. Try the asparagus also. 8 stars to the Staff. Could not have felt more welcome and attended to.
The food is unique and fresh, the service is outstanding.
We regularly have date night at Boulevardier. The food is consistently good, they have great cocktails, world class wines; and the staff are all friendly and always glad to see us :)
On this occasion we took friends, as we often do when we have “out of towners” staying with us, because we know everyone will be pleased with their food and the ambience is lively, but not noisy - you can still have conversation.
One of our favorite go to’s in Dallas.
Birthday dinner. Food was delicious, service was a bit slow and the restaurant wasn’t even that full, the staff was really nice. The complimentary dessert was nice.
We've been fans of Boulevardier for many years, however our experience this weekend was exemplary. The appetizers, entrees and deserts for our party of 5 were all top notch
Early dinner with friends before a concert. We all wanted to try for awhile. Not disappointed. We were greeted warmly by the hostess and seated right away. The restaurant filled up quickly! The server was very knowledgeable and sent a wine guy over who knew his wines. He chose a perfect red for us. The mussels and that broth wow!! I see why they give you a spoon to get every drop.
The crab beignets were amazing as well. I ordered the steak frites. I always rate a French Restaurant by their frites. Not disappointed they are tres bien!! We all enjoyed our main courses . My husband had the lamb , my friends husband had the pork chop and my friend had also the steak frites. The only thing I would work on is the baguette not that great. Also , the table and or floor has a bleach smell. Other than that, highly recommend and will return to sit and dine at the bar.
We loved everything except the atmosphere is TOO dark. We arrived at 7:30 p.m. and we needed our phones lights to see the menu. Also, SUPER noisy. We needed to scream to each other to hear our conversation.
A perfect meal from cocktails and oysters at the bar, charcuterie and cheese at the table, delicious dick confit and a perfect ribeye, at a bread pudding for dessert.
Fabulous French food. The waiter was knowledgeable about food intolerances, and the chef was flexible about alternatives. The mussels, in particulate, were amazing.
We requested a quiet table, and were given a corner table. Check. The food is interesting and quite tasty
, the wine list is varied. We needed good food, well served accompanied with great wine, and we were not disappointed.
Always amazing! One of my favorite spots in Dallas and make sure to stop by every trip!
The brusselsprouts are some of the best in Dallas. Delicious pork chop and the duck confit gnocchi as well.
The service and ambience at Boulevardier can't be beat; it's classy, yet comfortable. We love the bar area. I always feel like I'm in one of the classic New Orleans eateries when I'm in there. Craft cocktails are amazing; food is always fresh. I only gave four starts for value because a few of the dishes are priced a bit high for what you get -- especially the mushroom toast. It is *delicious* but $16 is rather high (it has no meat; just two narrow pieces of bread, topped with the mushrooms and some nice cheese and greens). Next time I'll get the hash instead and just ask them to hold the sausage. The sauces are amazing here, and they cook an egg to utter perfection. Our server on Sunday happened to be Alex, and he was great: friendly, timely service with lots of insight into the menu and drinks. The staff here is amazing. (Here's a shout-out to Griffin, the lovely ladies who always greet us at the door, and the super-nice barbacks.)
Wonderful service and wonderful food for a birthday dinner! Half price wine on Wednesday was an added bonus!
Excellent brunch and great service!
Boulevardier is my husband’s absolute favorite restaurants in Dallas, so we went to celebrate his birthday. Everything was on point. We had cocktails, oysters, farm egg salad, steak frites, scallops, a delicious Alsatian wine, and dessert. The service was top-notch as was the food and drink. It’s in a great location with plenty to see and do in Bishop Arts. Highly recommend!
Great food, service, atmosphere. Definitely recommend
Lovely brunch with family. Service was excellent!
Rapidly becoming one of our go to night out “date nights”. Wonderful French style cafe with entertaining wine lists. Never disappoints. Always leaves a wonderful feeling of a night well spent!
Formerly excellent for dinner and this time outstanding for brunch.
We have had most everything on the menu and have never had a bad meal or a bad drink. Absolutely love it.
Excellent! The food and service were impeccable. Can't wait go again.
We’ve been going to Boulevardier and think they have a great selection of French inspired food and drink. We went for a celebration and had the 2 for 1 Steak Frites. Fabulous. Very nice selection of Happy Hour cocktails for $5.
Food was great, I had my table with no issues, the place is cute and the service was amazing!!.. Very very good service. Drinks were good too. Overall I had a very pleasant experience
Food was good service good but got really loud as it got later in the evening . Hard to talk
Arrival was great. Front desk kindly gave us a booth. Server was prompt, nice, informed. Took our wine order, knew the wine. Had a good chat. Took our starter order. And then it tumbled. Asked us in the middle of our starter to order entree (literally while my wife just took a bite of food). Entree came, food was good, not great. They did nail the preparation of meat perfectly. Then the bus staff started coming by asking if we were done yet. Then the bill was plopped on our table while eating our desert, no thanks, no comment. Then the bill was returned by one of the assistants. In short, we were chased off our table. We won’t be back (there are better choices in Bishop Arts, better service, better value). Rating of 2 reflecting a 1 in service but 3 in food.
The food quality is consistent and tasty. The restaurant can get quite noisy even during the week. All of the staff are competent and well-trained. Overall, the experience is good. Especially, for a date night.
Outstanding food as always. Wish the wines had a better price points.
The food here is exceptional! Service depends upon the wait staff. Our first experience was outstanding and can't be beat. Our second experience was not the same quality, but was acceptable. I would highly recommend this restaurant!
Any the server was awesome!!! She was extremely knowledgeable about the menu and a great personality
