Boulevard Seafood NY
Our fish is purchased on daily trips to the Fulton Fish Market, with our Chef selecting a broad array of both fin fish and shellfish.
Our gracious and spacious Dining Room, Bar, and Sidewalk Cafe are designed after the Pasadena, CA. Arts & Crafts masterpiece, the Gamble House.
We serve an extensive menu of contemporary seafood and American bistro food for Lunch, Brunch, and Dinner. Our bar offers an exciting craft cocktail list, twelve draft lines, and wines by the bottle and glass.
Boulevard Seafood Company is open every day of the year, except Christmas Day.
Good to find that this neighborhood favorite is still delicious and good value. Excellent service. Fresh seafood and daily special is usually meat or chicken.
We made a 7:30 reservation at this restaurant. We arrived at 7:22 and were not seated until after eight. One of our party got the arctic char which she loved. My husband and I had the crabcakes as an entrée. They did not come with any side dishes and we’re only passable. There are other restaurants on the Upper West Side that make a better crabcake. The waiter forgot our french fries. The wine choices by the bottle were very expensive and not particularly good. We really liked Henry’s but we will not be back at the Boulevard.
great food great service but place is a little drab
I’m delighted to have a seafood restaurant in my (Morningside Heights) neighborhood, and hope we can sustain it. It’s the same ambience, noise level, bar scene and great service as Henry’s — the site’s former incarnation.
We LOVED the corn chowder soup!!!
The kale salad with tuna was amazing.
The Faroe Island salmon was cooked to perfection.
Excellent! We enjoyed the seafood and attentive service.
Excellent food and service. Nice ambiance. Food cost for the quality is acceptable. Alcohol cost is high especially for a restaurant in this area of town.
Service good, noise level ok,fries soggy, burger good, good value in over priced pretentious Columbia neighborhood. Will return.
I've dined at Boulevard Seafood four or five times since it opened late last year. I've enjoyed myself on every occasion, as I did on this most recent visit. However, the last two times I've visited, the service has been slower than on previous occasions. Based on my observations, I'm guessing that either there's been a reduction in staff or staff were out sick. On this recent visit, no host was present at the front. My friend and I waited about five minutes before a waiter came to check us in and take us to a table. Service during the meal was fine, though not quite as efficient as on previous visits. Our waiters were friendly and courteous, but on this occasion and the occasion that preceded it, service was slower than on previous visits.
The service was lacking, we waited three quarters of an hour for our food. When they gave us more wine on the house it was not presented graciously.
Service was terrible. Took almost an hour and a half to get our appetizers. Another hour waiting for the entrées. At this point our waiter left because his shift was over as our dinner took so long to come out. They did not have any of the appetizers or entrées for our party done at the same time. Some of the entrées that served were not the ones we ordered.
The restaurant is attractive however they must have had a problem with the heating because everyone was wearing their winter coats and it was cold inside.
Overall it as a dismal experience. There did not appear to be a manager around to discuss these issues with.
This is a new restaurant in an old comfortable space. No worries, the space is still comfortable. Noise level is low, and service is attentive. The new artwork of sea creatures should be changed... they are not an interesting addition. The food was very good. We had fish... well prepared, tasty, and interesting. The specialty drinks were excellent.
The music is played too loud.
I continue to be impressed by what the new leadership team accomplishes. The hospitality is as before and the menu continues to evolve. I had one dozen oysters as an appetizer and as always they were fresh and delicious. I look forward to their continued development as a must visit seafood restaurant on the UWS.
Was a bit nervous about the loss of standby Henry's to this NJ mini-chain, but the chef/owner was one of the original owners of Henry's too, so he's kept the same warm vibe and reliably good menu. Food was great. Tables aren't scrunched together so you don't feel like you're dining with strangers. Overall an excellent neighborhood spot. Every 'hood should have one!
Menu was varied and creative, food was excellent , but the service was lacking. Our waiter was professional, however the house was understaffed.
We will go back and try it again.
Delicious, great food, service and over all good time. A neighborhood treasure.
What a great addition to the neighborhood. This will definitely be one of our go to restaurants.
The food is fabulous and the service is divine. I'd recommend this for anyone who wants a good meal in an ambient settings.
Amazing!! Really love the new concept!
Food was if anything even better than last time. Three of us sampled about half the small plate offerings plus a bottle of wine and dessert. We thought the small plates were ALL excellent; dessert yummy, and the Italian pinot grigio quite nice.
The only down side was the music controlled by the bar - sometimes too loud and boisterous for a peaceful meal where we could hear one another. My sense was that all the eaters were relieved when some of the louder and funkier music disappeared.
We keep hoping for a better selection of wines by the glass.
This was our second visit and once again, it didn't disappoint! Sunday brunch with friends - their first visit. We ordered oysters and grilled veggies to start - superb. I had the tuna burger which I'll be thinking about all week! Everyone was very pleased. We'll all be back again.
We have had dinner here before and just had Sunday Brunch. Fabulous squared!
Good but too expensive for the neigjborhoos
It replaced Henry's, which we liked a lot and miss, but this was good. The food was very good and the room is a nice spacious setting.
The wonderful atmosphere of the old Henry's--generously spaced tables, a sound level that makes it easy to converse--has been preserved (the main change is white tablecloths) along with the generally warm and attentive service. The seafood-oriented menu is actually better, more ambitious and well-executed. It's a very pleasing restaurant.
The overall experience was really good, and the best parts of the previous establishment, Henry's, are in place. A wonderful neighborhood restaurant, where we all have gone for years, to eat well and Have Conversations. I've been to Boulevard about 5 times since it opened. Each time there is a problem with the level of music. Many of the people who go there are not young, and really truly go to have good food and good conversation, and don't care for a lot of music interfering. Finally they seem to have limited the music to the bar area, and not blasted it throughout the restaurant, but it isn't really under control. I have heard others complaining about this issue. It is the only bad thing about the restaurant. The food is even better than Henry's.
Delightful. Great service. Nice food. Fair prices. The room has a good vibe. Hard to do better for an adult dinner.
If you're hoping for a scene, not for you!
I have dined here four times recently and the food is delicious. Shrimp chowder is great as is the crab cake. Had two different specials and both were great. Unfortunately the service is lackluster at best. Took twenty minutes for a cup of tea and had to ask for milk and sweetening. Other times it's also been slow and inattentive.
Absolutely superb food! Rare in a low-key neighborhood place.
Exciting seafood menu with Henry’s heritage, good combination
This was my third visit to Boulevard Seafood. As on the other two occasions, I went there for a quiet dinner with a close friend. Because we ate relatively early, the restaurant was fairly quiet throughout our time there. Once again, both my friend and I enjoyed all of our food (both starters and entrees), the wine we drank, and the pleasant atmosphere enhanced by the handsome decor. As on our previous visits, the service was friendly, courteous, and attentive. I expect to return again soon.
Really excellent food and for Manhattan very good prices. Enough room so you don't feel cramped. Very enjoyable evening with as I mentioned truly terrific food.
The food is quite good but the service is truly lacking. We never seemed to see the same person twice. Our waiter took our drink and food order and then we didn’t see him again until
We got our bill. Our bread came after our meal and we had to ask for it. No one came to see if we needed anything or how our meal
Was it if
We cared for anther drink. Wait staff is truly disorganized and lacking food training. They were also disheveled with sloppy T-shirts. On. Too bad as the food is quite good. Hope they get better organization and training as they are not a good representation of this restaurant and they are a true hindrance.
Food is excellent, although pasta could use more salt. Scallops are especially good.
The problem is the service. Despite the appearance that servers are rushing around and very nice, it is impossible to get their attention. Waters go unfilled, silverware is not replaced while entrees get cold after delivery. Waits between courses are excessive, as is the wait for the bill to be delivered and retrieved. Had to ask hostess for requests several times. Managers and owners: you are ruining what could be an excellent new neighborhood restaurant. Please hire more staff before negative reviews undermine your restaurant!
The food was fresh and prepared creatively. The service was poor at best, with the exception of some Henry’s carry overs.
I would recommend but not until the music is turned off. Will come back in the summer when I can sit outside and not have to listen to the music. How about some quiet places - turn off a few speakers. Food is only fair, need more simple entrees - and how about allowing for half an entree.
Happy that the new people kept the old environment. New menu is wonderful for fish lovers (me). Not so great for vegetarian husband. Food was lovely. Drinks were good. Service noticeably slow. But again happy that the feel hasn’t changed. Welcome to the neighborhood!
Ambience is fine, but the music is awful and there should be a quiet area. The food is only fair. Hope it improves as have enjoyed it since it was Henry's.
