My fiance and I came about 20 minutes early for our 830pm reservation on a Sunday evening. We were seated right away and our waiter was prompt with menus and a cocktail/wine list.
We ordered the ahi tuna for an appetizer to share which we enjoyed. She ordered the petrole fish and I ordered the prime rib pork chop. We both g enjoyed the amount of food and flavor our dishes had. For desert, we got two bon bons that were bite sized as well as the lemon olive oil cake.
The mixed cocktail I ordered was strong but well balanced. The wine was perfect for her.
A group of 6 was seated to our side and were pretty loud the entire talking about the usual technology business of the bay area. Wish they realized that there conversations were overpowering the areas on both sides.
Bathroom was down two flights of stairs and was sort of awkward. They noted with a sign that the elevator was out of order.
Long wait for entree. Food prices acceptable but liquor and wine way overpriced.
It's a great restaurant. Service is top flight and the food is always wonderful. Be prepared to spend some money though, this type of experience isn't cheap.
Three friends eating lunch. Totally wonderful. Service outstanding and patient with our requests. We asked for some changes to our menu selections and it happened w/o any fuss. We each ordered different menu items and then shared bites around the table. Sooooooo good. One order of salmon, one fillet of petralie sole, one south Asian porkwith coconut noodles and peanuts. Can't wait to return.
First time impressions were better than expected. Trendy art-deco furnishings and upscale food. Quite fun for a get-together or business lunch.
I wanted to bring my parents here since they come from out of town. They have traveled all over the world and have a high standard for food and service expectation. They really enjoyed the dinner last night. We had to stuff ourselves to finish all our dishes but everything was really well presented.
Just a great evening! Great restaurant, great food and drink and great service! Couldn't have asked for anything more! Pricey but worth it!
Boulevard is beautiful and the perfect place to meet family and friends. This evening’s menu was a delight to read. And our dinners were delicious and elegantly served. We thank everyone at Boulevard for making our special occasion a truly memorable one.
Wonderful, and always delivers an amazing meal, with impeccable service.
One of my all-time favorite restaurants in SF, and I am a total foodie who grew up here!
the meal was outstanding if I had one little complaint it would be that the octopus was over cooked however we ate it anyway !
Wonderful as always. Started with the Foie Gras and Crab Risotto. Then we both had the filets. Only caution would be they cook their meat on the rare side. So if you usually order "med-rare" you should probably go "medium" and still get a nice pink, juicy steak.
Yummy caviar special!! Learned their caviar special is limited per day. Our reservation was 5:30 and they were already down to only two caviar specials available. Our waiter rushed to reserve one for us then return to take rest of our orders. It's delicious!
We also ordered tuna tartar, grilled octopus, duck with beet juice barely, the sea bass, and the blood orange sorbet. Everything's umami delicious!! I can't wait to return for more.
This SF landmark has been so consistent over the years. It's always my go to for a great meal or special occasion.
Definitely go and enjoy!
Boulevard, great place, wonderful decor, excellent atmosphere, unbelievable cuisine.
Great as always!
We were given a gift certificate and had a very lovely lunch for 2. Beautiful, quiet and delicious.
I usually save Boulevard for special occasions (this was a birthday) - always a pleasure to eat here - love the energy in the restaurant, and the food is consistently creative and delicious. I live in the neighborhood and decided I need to stop by more often just to grab an appetizer and drink at the bar or counter!
Special place that has incredible food and service!
Excellent food; creative, delicious and served in a timely manner. Very good place to be with friends because it is not too noisy. The wine list is excellent but pricey. I definitely plan to go back.
I love this place!
We flew all the way from LA for lunch to celebrate our anniversary two yrs in a row! Our daughter recommend your restaurant. The service the food are all first class!! Keep up the good work!!
Have been dining at Boulevard for a decade. Arrived for an 8pm reservation and we were seated promptly. Then absolutely nothing happens. No server, no bus boy no one come to our table for 12 minutes.
We complained to two levels of management. Other than apologizing they did not offer to buy us a drink or dessert, etc.
Food was delicious as always and service and pacing were perfect after our black hole experience in the beginning. However this gives us pause to return anytime soon.
Boulevard always delivers, even with the high expectations. The food, wine and service were spot on. And the Bay Bridge views were a great bonus.
Wonderful service Good
Boulevard is usually one of my go to places when in San Francisco, but the service was a bit hasty and underwhelming. The food was average on this visit. This was my second time within two weeks. The first was better so I will give it as it was an “off” night. I will return as it is still one of my go-to places.
This restaurant has stood the test of time. It's always very, very good. I'll always choose it over some trendy, latest/greatest option.
Boulevard remains our San Francisco favorite!
For our last dinner we made reservations well in advance.
We shared a kale tomato salad. My wife had the pork chop an I had the
California sea bass. And we shared a bottle of the Raffenelli Zinfandel from Sonoma.
Another outstanding dinner and service for our 5:30 Saturday night reservation.
The service was excellent, as always, however I was very disappointed in the Octopus dish. Very over cooked. It takes a lot of experience and culinary knowledge to prepare octopus correctly, and I just don't think it was done well. Far to rubbery.
Love Boulevard! As always, excellent service and food. We had a corner table looking out on the Bay Bridge. Highly recommend for more leisurely and elegant dining .
Always a treat! The ambiance, food and waitstaff are all outstanding. Although on the expensive side, you receive a dining experience worthy of every penny! A favorite through the years!
Best food in SF, and I’m a foodie, have lived in SF for years. Nancy Oakes is a true star. I love her menus.
A bit of an extravagance, but the wonderful food and amazing service make it worth it.
They could add a bit more diversity for vegetarians. That said, I love this restaurant!
The food is always good here . Together with the atmosphere it makes for pleasant if very expensive dining .
The service was a bit impersonal and cold but not bad .
Fresh crableg over risotto
Hearts of palm , avocado salad
Baked halibut with black lentils, arugula , spinach
There are a few restaurants in SF that have lasted through the years....just a few. Boulevard remains our favorite go to nice meal restaurant. Everyone in the operation is nice, thoughtful, helpful...EVERYONE! That is rare for any restaurant any where but especially in SF and particularly for so long....We always look at the newer, cooler restaurants but we are often disappointed...we are NEVER disappoint at Boulevard...hats off to that entire team.
Went here with my boyfriend for our 3 year anniversary. Service and food could not have been better. The restaurant thanked us for sharing our special occasion with them. We had two appetizers...scallops over a sweet pea puree...amazing. Our second appetizer was stuffed quail. Very good, but hard to beat the scallops. Our entree was the pork chop the waiter recommended, and we were so happy we took his suggestion. Moist, delicious, beautifully presented, and plenty of food. We had a bottle of sparkling wine from Domaine Carneros, one of our faves, and it was reasonably priced. Dessert was a delicious chocolate crepe. This is the perfect place to celebrate a special occasion or just to treat yourself. Has been a fave for a long time, and will stay a fave for a long time! Thank you, Boulevard, for an amazing evening!
Great food. Warm, friendly staff. Cool atmosphere.
An evening to remember .
Fantastic food in a very cozy atmosphere .
We tried with my wife the fois and the duck as main course and they were cooked to perfection, the wine suggested was also an excellent choice .
I strongly recomend it for dinner anytimeyou are in San Francisco .
Went to Boulevard for a special dinner: it was excellent as usual. Crowded and noisy on a Saturday night at 8; service a little slow. ; but this is San Francisco after all . Beautiful view of the Bay Bridge Lights; reasonably-priced valet parking. We've been coming here for 20 years and will continue to rely on Boulevard for a reliable special evening.
We were celebrating our 10 year anniversary here and had a really disappointing experience. We were seated right by the kitchen, which was loud. It seems that the best tables are at the front or in the rear, looking onto the Bay Bridge. The tables in the middle are right on the food highway/kitchen.
Our waitress made us feel like we were eating in a cheap diner. She wasn't interested in building rapport with us, and I had to wait 10 minutes for her to come back to take my drink order after my husband. The sommelier was clueless, and recommended a wine that was too tart and hard to drink, something we discovered after we ordered a whole bottle.
I asked if they had any freshly squeezed juice, and our waitress said they did, and proceeded to bring me a glass of Tropicana from the carton. She ended up taking it off of our bill, after telling me she wasn't sure whether or not the restaurant squeezes their juices fresh after all.
To top it all off, their espresso machine was broken.
What I failed to mention is that the food was good. We had the stuffed quail appetizer, the pork chop (too sweet), and the lamb (nothing special). If I were to order again, I'd go for the stuffed quail and share the pork chop, which is cooked on a wood stove and is quite delicious, with a large portion.
Although the food was solid, the ambiance and service were terrible. I'd never come back here, and was disappointed our 10 year anniversary dinner was such a disappointment.
