Slow service due to inattentive server. Food was good but disappointed with filet of sole preparation. Seated us by the drafty front door. Sorry they did away with the artichoke soup. Overall not a wow experience. I probably would not go back
Superb dining and experience. My favorite restaurant in SF.
Great food, nice ambiance.
The food and service were very good. I recommend dining at Boulevard when staying in downtown San Francisco. The service was particularly attentive and prompt.
A San Francisco institution, everyone should try it at least once. Food and wine to the highest standards, also interesting cocktails.
Food was delicious! This place is a bit overpriced. I live in Napa and have had same food quality at Napa restaurants for half the price!
This is one of the best restaurants in the city. We had a really good birthday celebration there.
It was our first time dining here. The ambiance is great, but my wife and I were underwhelmed. While the presentation was very nice, we thought the dishes we ordered lacked flavor. The food required the use of a fair amount of salt and pepper. And even then, it was lacking. (Pork t-bone, Petrale sole) This is not something we’ve had to do at any upscale establishment. On the other hand, the Gnocchi was very good and was wonderfully flavorful. But given the price point for dining here, the portions could be more generous, especially for vegetarian dishes.
Also, for the many years that I’ve been in the restaurant and catering arena, I fail to understand why restaurant owners insist on being so stingy when they serve a glass of wine. It’s the way it’s been done for decades, but it doesn’t make it right. I had Prosecco instead. So, for as many awards as Boulevard has won, it did not win us over.
Boulevard was lovely again! It’s our favorite go to restaurant in San Francisco.
The best thing we had was the ravioli appetizer, to which we added the truffles, for a total of $42. It was absolutely worth it - I've never had a better pasta dish in my life. However, all the other dishes were just good, not outstanding, and I'm not 100% sure they were worth the price ($300 for two apps, two mains, one dessert, and 2 glasses of wine, including tax and tip).
Almost perfect. Not sure if it was the noice level but my waitress somehow did not split my main course I specifically asked but otherwise a wonderful experience. We will come back again.
Fantastic food and drink - they were happy to make a sugar-free mint press for me, my wife loved their take on a Manhattan, we split 3 appetizers among 4 people and all were fabulous, and the entrees were all delicious. For appetizers we had the tuna tartar, buratta cheese and Brussels sprouts, and the quail and foir gras, each had wonderful blends of flavors and the accompanying Tartine Sourdough offered a great way to scoop up the last bits of sauces. My wife and son split the rack of lamb for 2 which also came with morel mushrooms and a braised lamb tortolloni, the rack was done to a perfect medium rare. My "prime-rib" pork chop with blood orange citrus was juicy and super flavorful and came with a fascinating roll of farrow and other grains in a crisp wrapper. My son's girlfriend had the filet and her plate was completely cleaned before anyone else, despite her petite size, it was just that good.
I would wholly recommend this a a place for a special night out, and while not at all Inexpensive, I still felt like it was a great value for the quality and attention to detail.
One of our favorites in the City. Recommend it to friends often.
outstanding service; fabulous food. everyone needs to go here at least once.
Just a great dining experience! .
Would go back anytime.
The food and service were excellent but for the money spent the restaurant was too loud. I could hear an entire sales pitch for over an hour at a business meal two tables away. It’s not anywhere near romantic or cozy so don’t waste your time or money on a date. Business meals only here.
Even though it was lunch, thought there would be something special for Valentine's Day. We couldn't get seats for dinner.
Ambiance is different at lunch but it was still wonderful.
We went for my birthday. In the past, we had a good experience but not this time.
The food was poor..... Portions small..composed dishes didn't hang together.... Expensive for what you get. Would no longer recommend this restaurant to a friend. Sad decline.
Another wonderful birthday celebration. I have been coming here to celebrate my birthday for many years. The quality has been consistent for this time. Love it.
Waiter was superb. A true professional.
Beautiful and delicious. Very specific POV was a treat for the senses.
The food tasted good but the starters were quite expensive.
It was our anniversary and I requested a window booth. The hostess made sure we got a comfortable corner table overlooking the street. It was great. The service was superb all night long.
My food was wonderful as well. The only critique is that if you’re a vegan or vegetarian (my partner), there’s not a ton of options. Dessert was amazing. The portion size was right on.
This is definitely a special occasion or work expense restaurant. Wonderful dining experience but not cheap.
Great food, and a very good recommendation on wine with dinner. All 4 of us enjoyed our meals.
Without a doubt Boulevard is the finest restaurant in the Bay Area. For 16 years we have gone dozens of times and never experienced anything but great service, magnificent food, and comfortable ambience. Thanks Boulevard!
We were a bit disappointed to have made a reservation a few weeks ahead of time for the three of us to then be out at an awkward table meant for a two top.
The food was extraordinary and the wait staff was very attentive even though all of the tables were full.
Boulevard was one of my favorite restaurants as a go-to special occasion place. Years have passed since I've been there. This visit only reinforced that the basics of a well-run restaurant with a solid point of view on creative cooking endures. It doesn't come cheap, but the food and service are truly excellent and worthy of a visit.
My husband and I had a wonderful dining experience at Boulevard this last weekend. Our server Tim certainly added to the experience. Tim was very helpful and provided us with outstanding service. The food was exceptional as always. We enjoy dining at Boulevard when visiting the city.
Every time we visit San Francisco, The Boulevard is our choice for excellent food, service, and accommodation. Professional yet personal and delightful service makes for a great evening commensurate with the quality and elegant presentation of the wonderful entrees and deserts.
It was perfect!
We celebrated our anniversary last night. I had requested a table with a view of the Bay Bridge Lights and we had a great view. Boulevard gave us a signed anniversary card and desserts with Happy Anniversary in white chocolate spelled out. The crab and avocado starter was excellent. Petrale sole and angus filet cooked to perfection and dessert was delicious. Our server was very good and pleasant. Always a treat coming here.
An excellent evening. We requested a quiet table on our reservation and were seated at a nice table for two against the windows. Our server, the food, drinks, and wine were superb. Thanks for catering to two hard of hearing diners who will return.
Excellent food. Very pricey
Consistently great food, wonderful atmosphere. Old San Francisco feel to it.
Beautiful restaurant. Ample food choices. Attentive service.
Whenever I return to Boulevard after a few months or even years away, I remember why I love it and always feel so comfortable and even pampered there. The service is impeccable, the atmosphere congenial, and the food excellent. As in most restaurants, the appetizer and dessert were the highlights, but the entree was good as well. Presentation is always lovely. I really appreciate the valet parking as well.
Loved everything about it with the exception of the cost. Salmon was $30... that's a bit much but was very good! Our service was awesome!
