Best restaurant in Boulder, hands down...
The aged rib-eye steak and filet mignon are great. They also serve corn bread that we love. We come here for special occasions or when we have guests visiting.
If I could give 10 stars, I would. I come here whenever I am in town. The service and food are always top notch.

Fantastic as always. Always get the coffee encrusted filet. Chef never turns my request down even if it's not on the menu. Best steaks in town. Enjoyed celebrating my son's birthday there with our other children. We all love their steaks.
mastering the fundamentals for a 'classic' steakhouse is of the upmost importance. the chop house misses on these points. a classic wedge would include more than 3 bits of bacon (no exaggeration) fries would be hot and crisp, not soft and broken. steaks were cooked well, just nothing special that one would associate with a restaurant that bills itself as a specialist in this area.
Their prime rib is fantastic, and so is their filet mignon. Sides are very rich. Their bread pudding is amazing. This is not light fare, but great when you're in the mood for self-indulgence. We were seated at a relatively quiet table, and the service was good. The restaurant is very busy and lively. It's expensive, but after all it's a steakhouse. The portions are enormous and we went home with leftovers. We come here for birthdays and special occasion meals.
The $56 house cut steak was sold by my experienced waiter as "one of the top five steaks in my life." It was fair but not exeptional, a little gristly and my first "rare" steak came overcooked on the wrong side of "medium." No creamed spinach or cheesy/scalloped potatoes on the menu, only baked potato or garlic smashed: weak. It wasn't a bad meal, and maybe I'm spoiled in Houston, but it wasn't anything to write home about.

We thoroughly enjoyed our meal! We had fun which is always good. They did not kick us out as we stayed to chat after we finished our meal.
Moms 70th bday. Family in town. Everything was pretty good. The only real complaint is that it’s kind of mediocre for a steakhouse. I have no problem with a $50 steak, but it needs to be a really good steak. The Chophouse simply puts out B level steaks, not Del Frisos or Ocean Prime quality. They do provide a little more value than the others with the included side, but you sacrifice a little meat quality for it.
We had a wonderful evening and an extraordinarily good waiter (Dave). I look forward to returning.
Was on all reviews as the top Steakhouse in Boulder and it lived up to its ratings! The food was incredibly flavorful and filling. We liked it so much we skipped a free event dinner to go a second time. House beer is awesome, I can’t say enough. You won’t be disappointed.

No response or a simple acknowledgment to special requests, If had known this wasn't an option, I would have made reservations elsewhere on Valentine's day, as the girlfriend had her heart set on a particular dessert.
Barring that minor detail, the food and service is great and would recommend choosing this restaurant for a wonderful dining experience.
The Filet Mignons were melt in your mouth and cooked perfectly. We also had a healthy portion of mussels that were fabulous with plenty to share. Our reservation was quite last minute and they were able to accommodate us and even recognize our special occasion. The Boulder Chop House is always a solid choice.

We went for Valentine’s Day. They had a special menu for the day. There were not a large amount of selections but all of them were quality. We enjoyed every course and the desert even came with a glass of champagne for each. The server was very attentive but not hovering or in anyway pushy. Overall the night was great experience and I would recommend it to any who enjoy classic quality night out with tremendous food.
We’ve been dining here for years and have never had a negative experience. The waitstaff is knowledgeable and professional - the wine recommendations are well thought out and they’ll provide tasters if you’re on the fence. The food is fabulous - tell them how you want it cooked and they will deliver.
We had booked a high top table but were moved all the way down the back.
The food was good. The service was excellent. The cocktail a bit too sweet. The booth was a little cozy for three and we are not over weight, so not sure how most patrons could even fit, or three grown men.
Overall visit was a 9 out of 10.
This is a nice place for a personal or business meal. The food is good and they have a menu that should appease most tastes. Our waiter was a bit inattentive, but that is his fault and not the restaurant’s. I will go back the next time I’m in Boulder.

Have had decent meals there before and actually liked the place until my last visit. I will avoid the restaurant in the future due to one of the worst salads (tuna) I have ever eaten--actually couldn't eat. The tuna part was ok, but the salad was not interesting, chintzy ingredients, and bathed in an extremely salty dressing of unknown identity. Absolutely grotesque.

Our waiter was attentive and friendly. The food was excellent, cooked exactly as orders. Love their cocktails. The atmosphere was good though a little noisy where we were seated. Not the fault of the restaurant however so can’t blame them. Overall it was great food, great service, and a great experience. We will definitely return.

The service was great the food was good for 3 out of 4 people. The 3 all got the same dish. Mine was the queen prime rib. With bake potato. The prime rib was about 4 ounces out of 12 of fat. The bake potato was 3/4s done. I'm not a complainer. But since you ask.
Service excellent. Catered for dietary issues without feeling bad about it. Everything was excellent.

Glad it opened on New Year’s Day. The quality, value and service the whole experience was outstanding. Loved the music kind of 1930’s music. Great steak and fish on the menu.
Great for special occasions as it is $$. I had the Ribeye and was very pleased with the flavor and tenderness. Friendly Knowledgeable Staff.
Steak was over cooked, waiter was inconsistent and forgot drinks several times. Had to ask for bread (which is a staple). Took very long for waiter to arrive at the table. For a $300 meal we expected more professionalism.

$36 Grouper was raw. Came back microwaved and the consistency of rubber. $45 ribeye was half grizzle. Horrible.
Overcooked lamb and some very cold food. Always have enjoyed the Denver Chop House but the Boulder Chop House is totally different and not good.
