Boulder ChopHouse & Tavern Ratings and Reviews
The service was great the food was good for 3 out of 4 people. The 3 all got the same dish. Mine was the queen prime rib. With bake potato. The prime rib was about 4 ounces out of 12 of fat. The bake potato was 3/4s done. I'm not a complainer. But since you ask.
Amazing service! Our waiter Dave was so friendly and attentive and made the experience wonderful! They started us with a complimentary skillet of jalapeño cornbread with honey butter. It was nice and warm and was the perfect way to start, with some comfort food. The French onion soup I ordered was very flavorful with a rich broth and the perfect amount of onions, bread and cheese. I also had the salmon and it was cooked perfect and was topped with a very tasty orange beurre blanc sauce, the perfect combination of flavors. My sister ordered the filet with an oscar finish and it was a winner. The filet was melt in your mouth tender and the bernaise with lump crab meat was rich and savory. The side of Cabernet mushrooms we ordered were perfect. I love mushrooms but I am picky when ordering them as a lot of restaurants I've been to cook them dry and are bland. This was absolutely not the case here. Juicy, glazed with sauce and a good portion, amazing! Cannot say enough about how relaxing and elegant the atmosphere was. Beautiful old style charm and Frank Sinatra playing in the background. We are so happy we choose to go here and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a place to go right in the heart of downtown boulder!
The Chophouse food is consistently good. We dined on our anniversary and were treated to a surprise glass of bubbly to start. Service was efficient and friendly without being over the top.
We enjoyed splitting a steak salad and a 9 0z filet both perfect and just as we remembered from previous visits. Without being pretentious or novel, The Chophouse has never disappointed.
We had a reservation for 4 on Thanksgiving. We had terrific service and greatly enjoyed the food and beverages. We shared 4 appetizers and 4 entrees which was a huge amount of food, all of it very good. My favorites were the crab cakes, white cheddar mashed potatoes and the creole shrimp appetizer - it as fantastic!
Just a little chaotic in the bar, but it is Halloween weekend in Boulder and the adults were celebrating. Food and service were very good as has been the case with prior visits. The Chop House will always be on my list of places to stop when visiting Boulder.
